28 Years Later 'Alpha' Chi Lewis-Parry Reacts To 1 Big Part Of The Film That's Got Everyone Talking
Even if you've not seen 28 Years Later yet, the chances are you're aware there's one big part of the film that's really got people talking. The sequel to 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later introduces new variants of the 'infected', including the so-called 'Slow-Los', more zombie-like beings who shuffle close to the floor in search of worms to eat, and 'Alphas' who are more physically dominant and powerful – and also have the unique trait of walking around completely nude. Because the film's protagonist Spike was played by teenager Alfie Williams, it was a requirement that all of this nudity be achieved through the use of prosthetics, with that of Chi Lewis-Parry, who plays Samson, really capturing people's attention. Chi – who was an MMA fighter before becoming an actor – recently spoke to GQ about the reception his character has received, enthusing: 'I'm here for it, man!' 'No matter how bizarre people's reactions might be, it's all part of the world we've created, and I'm proud of it,' he insisted. 'So if people want to talk about my willy, they can talk about my willy.' He also shared that while his first reaction to his prosthetic may have been 'that's gonna be out, just walking around', he and his colleagues quickly got used to it. 'To be honest, I was so involved in that character, that it wasn't anything I was really thinking about,' he claimed. 'That big swinging dong just happened to be a byproduct of Samson.' On why Danny Boyle chose for the 'infected' character to be so uniquely endowed, Chi offered: 'Danny is quite poetic in the way that he speaks, and he doesn't do things by accident. He's quite methodical. I find there's an art in that. '[Samson] is an evolved man who's been infected for the last 28 years, and a natural part of that evolution [is that] if he's growing in size, everything's gonna grow. So it's not surprising that his penis is very large.' Last month, Chi explained to Variety: 'There's a law that states, I think, because [Alfie is] a child, you're allowed to have nudity but it has to be fake nudity. It was to protect him. 'And, as well, I'm really friendly and am always hugging people. I wouldn't have been doing that if I was fully in the nip!' 28 Years Later's sequel, titled The Bone Temple, was shot simultaneously with the most recent film, with filmmaker Nia DaCosta on directing duties. It's not known yet whether Chi's character will appear in the follow-up, but what has been made clear is that it will expand more on 28 Years Later's mind-boggling final moments. '28 Years Later' Director Comments On The Film's Zombie Nudity
The long-awaited sequel to the horror classic 28 Days Later and its original follow-up 28 Weeks Later is finally here. The new film, titled 28 Years Later , is an ambitious effort from the original creators of 28 Days Later and to demonstrate some of that, they have a new antagonist known as the 'Alpha' played by Chi Lewis-Parry. The character features some surprising nudity, however, that 28 Years Later director Danny Boyle opened up about. While speaking with ComicBook, Boyle discussed the character and the surprising male genitalia that was present with his appearances in the film. As it turns out, however, they legally couldn't show the actor's real genitalia – and so a life-like prosthetic was created instead. This was explained by Boyle who gave an interesting reason as to why. Here's what he shared with the outlet: 'This was a salutory moment via our intimacy coordinator that when you have a child of 12 present, all genitals, male and female, have to be fake. They can't be real. [The] Child Sex Offenses Act would put me in prison if I allowed him [Alfie] to see real genitals [laughs]. So he has to look at absolutely false photo-real genitals, created by a prosthetics company.' It's certainly an interesting way to bend the rules when making a movie. Filmmakers have utilized unexpected techniques for decades to try and get their ideas across on the big screen, even when censorship should dictate otherwise. Now 28 Years Later took the initiative to use prosthetic genitalia to create a more realistic and grounded breed of Infected, or zombies, that 28 Days Later fans can be afraid of. The new sequel, 28 Years Later , with nudity and all, is currently playing in theaters. Fans that are excited about the franchise comeback will be happy to know that an additional film is headed our way, titled 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple .

'28 Years Later' star Chi Lewis-Parry spills the deets on his massive zombie pole
28 Years Later star Chi Lewis-Parry is talking about the one big thing that's been on everyone's mind since the film premiered last Friday. The long-awaited follow-up to Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later explores how the zombies have evolved after 28 years wreaking havoc on what's left of Great Britain. This includes a variant known as the Alphas, who have grown into massive, hulking, violent creatures beyond even the original terrifying rage virus infectees. Lewis-Parry plays what he calls the "King of the Infected," an Alpha called Samson. Like the other Alphas, Samson lost any use for clothes years ago and spends the film in the buff. And the film does not shy away from unleashing that full-frontal nudity on screen. — (@) During a recent conversation with Variety, Lewis-Parry dug into some of the specifics of those sequences. Namely, the conversation acknowledged the necessity for prosthetics to be used for the benefit of one of 28 Years Later's young stars, Alfie Williams. "There's a law that states, I think, because he's a child, you're allowed to have nudity but it has to be fake nudity," the actor said. "It was to protect him. And, as well, I'm really friendly and am always hugging people. I wouldn't have been doing that if I was fully in the nip!" Of course, even if prosthetics are in play, anytime there's full-frontal male nudity in movies or TV, people still end up curious and clamoring for details of a more personal nature. So when the interviewer asked how Lewis-Parry's prosthetic measures up to the real thing, the former MMA fighter had a cheeky answer ready to go. "Well, I'm 6′ 8″," he replied. "I'll say no more!"
