Taco Bell debuts Crispy Chicken Tacos, Burritos and Strips: See availability
Taco Bell's Chicken Nuggets were just the beginning as the Mexican-inspired fast food chain's crispy chicken era is here to stay with the debut of new items. Starting June 17, Crispy Chicken Tacos and Burritos will be available at locations nationwide for a limited time, the chain announced Thursday, June 12. Both items feature a Crispy Chicken Strip inside and are available with new Spicy Ranchero and Avocado Ranch sauces. "Taco Bell's obsession with its crispy chicken recipe runs so deep, one perfect spokesperson couldn't be crowned," the company wrote in a news release. "The next move was obvious: take the craveable, tortilla-coated crunch fans loved and pack it into the formats that made Taco Bell famous — Tacos and Burritos." For $2.79, the Crispy Chicken Tacos layers its new crispy strip with purple cabbage, lettuce, pico de gallo and shredded cheddar cheese. Meanwhile, the Crispy Chicken Burrito includes two strips, purple cabbage, crisp lettuce, pico de gallo and cheddar cheese for $5.49. The chain is also offering two Crispy Chicken Strips for the price of $3.99, not to be confused with its Crispy Chicken Nuggets, which debuted last December and returned in April. Taco Bell's new Spicy Ranchero Sauce fuses Anaheim and jalapeño chiles with tomatoes, garlic, and onion. The chain described its creamy Avocado Ranch Sauce as a "zesty ranch with a hint of avocado." Both sauces are priced at 60 cents when purchased on their own, or just 30 cents when added to any menu item, according to Taco Bell. The addition of the Crispy Chicken Tacos and Burritos to Taco Bell's menu comes as various chains compete in what appears to be a fast food chicken wrap battle. McDonald's is permanently bringing back its fan-favorite Snack Wrap on Thursday, July 10, nationwide, the company confirmed to USA TODAY on June 3. Popeyes, however, announced on June 2 that it will be adding Chicken Wraps to its menu for a limited time. Popeyes appeared to throw shade at McDonald's on May 30, responding to an April 15 McDonald's X post hinting at the Snack Wrap's comeback. McDonald's post from April 15 read: "snack wraps 0x.14.2025," hinting that the menu item would return on the 14th day of an unidentified month in 2025. "Chicken wraps 0x.02.2025," Popeyes wrote on May 30. Contributing: Gabe Hauari This article originally appeared on USA TODAY: Taco Bell debuts Crispy Chicken Tacos, Burritos and Strips

Wendy's Leak Suggests Spooky New Frosty Flavor Is Coming Soon
Wendy's Leak Suggests Spooky New Frosty Flavor Is Coming Soon originally appeared on Parade. Wendy's looks to be bringing something mysterious and spooky to its menus in the near future. The beloved international burger chain is reportedly gearing up to release a new themed meal in collaboration with Netflix, similar to the limited-edition SpongeBob SquarePants meal it offered a few months ago. An apparent image of Wendy's yet-to-be-announced partnership was leaked over the weekend and the now-viral pic suggested Wendy's new collaboration would promote the return of one of the streamer's most anticipated original series: Wednesday. Related: A July 6 Reddit post claimed the rumored collaboration, dubbed "Wednesday's Meal of Misfortune," features a 10-piece chicken nugget entrée that's served with two "Dips of Dread" mystery sauces, a small fry, and a small Frosty in the new "Raven's Blood" flavor. According to the post, the new Frosty features a "dark cherry Frosty Swirl," presumably a cherry-flavored syrup swirled in Wendy's fan-favorite vanilla soft serve. A Wendy's spokesperson was not immediately available for comment. It's expected to be released sometime in August or shortly before the premiere of Wednesday Season 2 on August 6. Part two of the new season will return exclusively to the streamer on September 3. While neither Netflix nor Wendy's has publicly confirmed the suspected collaboration, fans believe they recently spotted a production crew filming part of the new season at a Wendy's location in California, making the rumors all the more believable. Should we uncover any further details, we'll be sure to update this story accordingly. McDonald's fans fuming as fast food chain quietly puts menu prices up
McDonald's fans have been sharing their outrage online after spotting that the popular fast food chain has raised some of its prices recently. Customers took to Reddit to claim that Fries, Happy Meals and the Wrap of the Day deal all cost more in July than they had in previous months. But after taking a closer look at the menu, it seems these aren't the only items that have had a price hike. Chicken Nuggets, Big Macs and Wraps have all become a little more expensive, with noticeable changes to the Saver Menu as well. In 2023, a Double Cheeseburger cost just £1.99, but by the end of 2024, it was £2.29. In July 2025 on the McDonald's app it's gone up again to £2.49. Similarly, a Big Mac was £4.69 in June, but it's now £4.89 on the McDonald's app and £5.59 to order via Deliveroo. A nine-piece box of Chicken McNuggets cost £5.09 to order from McDonald's in June 2025, but in July the price has risen to £5.19 on the McDonald's app and £6.19 on Deliveroo. In terms of the Saver Menu, most items have become 10p more expensive, with Small Fries rising from £1.19 to £1.29, the Mayo Chicken going from £1.39 to £1.49 and the classic Hamburger now costing £1.29 instead of £1.19. A small Americano or White Coffee has risen from £1.39 to £1.49 and small soft drinks are £1.29 as opposed to the previous price of £1.19. The Mini Core McFlurry, like Smarties and Oreo have also gone up. They were £1.29 each, but according to the McDonald's app they're now £1.49. Another noticeable price change is on the Katsu Wrap, which launched at McDonald's UK in December 2024. At the end of 2024 and start of 2025 it was £3.49 as a single item and £5.29 as part of a meal, but it's now £3.79 on its own and £5.39 for a meal. And yes, the Wrap of the Day deal has also gotten pricier, changing from £1.99 earlier this year to £2.29 now. Taking to the r/McDonald'sUK sub on Reddit, fans of the chain claimed they were 'done' after seeing some of the new prices. A user known as u/HawaiiNintendo815 said: 'Chippy food is far better priced than McDonald's and you're getting way more food for just a bit more money.' And u/ThrowawaySunnyLane responded to the Wrap of the Day change, proclaiming: 'If that's nationwide, I'm done with Maccies, that was my last little pleasure with them.' Similarly, u/4kreso wasn't happy, writing: 'Damn we got two large Big Arch and two McFlurry as and was £32. Literally done with McDonald's now. There's no justification for these increases.' While u/mr_xcoii commented: 'First they took away Chili Double Cheeseburger & Triple Cheeseburger and now they increase every price, f**k McDonald's actually.' However, some users pointed out that the delivery price was always going to be higher when ordering fast food, with u/Virtual_Remote_8467 posting: 'That's the delivery price. You're going to pay more, as they have to pay the delivery companies commission on the orders.' While u/colawarsveteran was tired of people complaining, adding: 'Why keep moaning. Just stop buying!' A McDonald's spokesperson confirmed to Metro that prices had been reviewed recently and some had risen as a result. They said: 'We refuse to compromise on the quality of our ingredients – and that means when these ingredients cost more, we have to review our prices. More Trending 'Raising some prices means we are able to stand by our quality commitments, like our beef patties being made from 100% British and Irish beef or our Chicken McNuggets being made from 100% chicken breast. 'We know how much these mean to our customers. Providing value remains an absolute priority. We continue to work tirelessly to ensure that every customer has a value offering that works for them. This includes weekly app offers that sit alongside always on value offers like our incredibly popular Wrap of the Day, and of course, our Saver Menu.' This comes after McDonald's recently launched the brand new Double Filet-O-Fish, making a change to the iconic burger for the first time in 50 years. I tested supermarket chicken nuggets – the budget winner is joint with M&S and over HALF price compared to Birds Eye
Find out which nuggets offered the best value for money CHICKEN WINNER I tested supermarket chicken nuggets – the budget winner is joint with M&S and over HALF price compared to Birds Eye Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) FROZEN foods like chicken nuggets tend to get a bad rap. But this freezer staple can be incredibly helpful for busy weeknights and many offer up a decent serving of protein to hungry kids. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 9 Lynsey Hope, put supermarket chicken nuggets to the test Credit: Oliver dixon Emma Shafqat, of said: "Chicken nuggets often get a bad reputation, but they can be a convenient and reliable source of protein especially for fussy eaters. "Look for ones made with chicken breast as the first ingredient and aim for low salt and saturated fat per serving. "A short, recognisable ingredient list (foods your find in your kitchen cupboards) is a good sign. "Nuggets can be a quick source of protein when added to wraps or salads for a balanced meal. "Like any processed food, it's about the quality you choose and what you serve alongside it." But which nuggets to choose? LYNSEY HOPE investigates: M&S Breaded Chicken Nuggets (600g) £4.75, £7.91 per kg Cook from frozen: 20 minutes 9 M&S' nuggests scored highly Credit: Oliver dixon Lynsey says: "Impressive nuggets from M&S, which looked and tasted great. Chicken makes up 53 per cent of the total ingredients and it's all breast meat. Once cooked, it was tender, while the breadcrumbs were nice and crisp after the recommended 20 minutes in the oven. "The ingredients list garlic, herb and sage which were subtle but gave these nuggets a tasty flavour. "The bag is mega expensive, setting you back £7.91 per kg which was even more than Birds Eye. But as they tasted great, I've still given them a reasonable score on value for money. Most popular treats for Brits on holiday "If you can afford to spend a bit more on nuggets, I'd recommend these ones." Taste: 5/5 Value: 4/5 Total: 9/10 Birds Eye Chicken Dippers (697g) £5.50 for 38, £7.80 per kg Cook from frozen: 15 minutes 9 Birds Eye's nuggets were one of the quickest to cook in the oven Credit: Oliver dixon Lynsey says: "The branded nuggets have a very distinctive taste and that is down to the batter I think, which is lightly fried. "Overall chicken make up 50 per cent of the ingredients and again, it's all breast meat. They are pricey but quite moreish and well-filled with meat. "One of the quickest to cook in the oven, taking just 15 minutes. They were quite similar to McDonald's nuggets in flavour and texture. "The biggest problem is the price, they cost nearly double most own brands per kilogram and the difference is minimal." Taste: 4/5 Value: 2/5 Total: 6/10 Sainsbury's Breaded Chicken Nuggets (450g) £1.49 for 30, £3.31 per kg Cook from frozen: 15 minutes 9 The Sainsbury's nuggets were on par with Aldi in price Credit: Oliver dixon Lynsey says: "Very meaty nuggets with British chicken making up 60 per cent of the ingredients - it's not necessarily breast meat though. The ingredients were simple, which I liked, with less rubbish in than other own brands. "They cooked well in the recommended 15 minutes and the breaded coating came out an appetising colour and had a lovely crunch. "The nuggets were small but excellent value too, on a par with Aldi when it comes to price per kilogram." Taste: 3/5 Value: 5/5 Total: 8/10 Asda Battered Chicken Nuggets (670g) £3, £4.48 per kg Cook from frozen: 18 minutes 9 Lynsey compared Asda's nuggets to McDonald's Credit: Oliver dixon Lynsey says: "Asda's nuggets are made with 100 per cent breast meat and chicken makes up 58 per cent of the ingredients so a decent proportion. "They took a while to cook, probably closer to 20 minutes than the recommended 18. But once cooked, the batter was nice - they were very similar to McDonald's nuggets with quite a salty taste. "I also thought that there was quite a lot of air in the batter and they could have done with a bit more meat to fill them out." Taste: 4/5 Value: 3/5 Total: 7/10 Aldi Roosters Chicken Nuggets in Breadcrumbs (450g) £1.49 for 30, £3.31 per kg Cook from frozen: 16-18 minutes 9 Aldi's nuggets were one of the meatiest Credit: Oliver dixon Lynsey says: "Excellent value nuggets from Aldi and a decent sized bag. They are one of the meatiest with 60 per cent chicken in the ingredients and it's breast meat too. "Filling - though the flavour was a little bland, perhaps they need a little more seasoning in the meat." Taste: 3/5 Value: 4/5 Total: 7/10 Morrisons Battered Chicken Dippers (450g) £2.30 for 25, £5.11 per kg Cook from frozen: 16-18 minutes 9 Lynsey felt Morrisons' nuggets were over-priced Credit: Oliver dixon Lynsey says: "Apparently these contain chicken breast but it was a strange texture and a grey mushy colour which was a bit off putting. "The batter was light and cooked well but it fell off the meat when I was trying to serve them and it all got a bit messy. "Over priced too. At £5.11 per kilogram they were more expensive than every other own brand, bar M&S. There wasn't 25 in the bag either - only 24." Taste: 2/5 Value: 2/5 Total: 4/10 Lidl Braemoor Red Hen Breaded Chicken Nuggets (1kg) £3.25 for 65, £3.25 per kg Cook from frozen: 14 minutes 9 Lidl's nuggets were great value for money Credit: Oliver dixon Lynsey says: "Lidl's nuggets were great value and this was a supersized family bag which is great for the freezer. The meat is 100 per cent chicken breast, though it's from Poland and not UK. "They were well-seasoned, filling and flavoursome. This bag is over £2 cheaper than Bird's Eye and you get 27 extra nuggets for your money." Taste: 4/5 Value: 5/5 Total: 9/10 Tesco Battered Chicken Dippers (450g) £1.49 for 20, £3.31 per kg Cook from frozen: 17 minutes 9 Lynsey Hope wasn't impressed with Tesco's nuggets Credit: Oliver dixon Lynsey says: "These had an usual chemically taste and I wasn't a fan. The meat was very bitty too and I couldn't finish my portion, chucking three out of five in the bin. "They do contain 53 per cent chicken in the ingredients but it's not breast. "There weren't 20 in the bag either- I only got 18. Whilst they are good value, I wouldn't buy these again." Taste: 1/5 Value: 2/5 Total: 3/10
