Derek Chisora handed heavyweight title lifeline after WBO verdict on Joseph Parker trilogy
Derek Chisora has been handed a world-title fight lifeline, with the WBO green-lighting a trilogy fight against Joseph Parker. With WBO interim heavyweight champion Parker set for a return in September, a third fight with Chisora could be on the cards. Advertisement World Boxing Organisation (WBO) president Gustavo Olivieri revealed to Sky Sports that 'Parker may defend his interim title against any of the top-15 WBO world-rated contenders'. Chisora is now the WBO's seventh-ranked heavyweight boxer, and has seen his upcoming career prospects boosted by the organisation saying it would sanction a challenge to the New Zealander Parker. The Briton's next fight will be his 50th and likely final, with 36 wins and 13 losses next to his name to date. Frank Warren-fronted Queensberry promotions, who represent both Chisora and Parker, are putting plans together for the coming months, with the latter scheduled as the next mandatory challenger to unified champ Oleksandr Usyk, who defends against Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on 19 July. Advertisement Parker's representative David Higgins has confirmed that the 33-year-old Kiwi would be open to a third fight with Chisora, when speaking to Sky Sports. Joseph Parker is the Interim Champion and mandatory challenger for Oleksandr Usyk's title (REUTERS) Parker has already beaten Chisora twice, with a split decision in 2021 and unanimous decision the following year. Since then, he has piled on victories over the likes of Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang, and Martin Bakole. Chisora, now 41, has lost just once since being felled by former WBO champion Parker twice in succession, with victories over Kubrat Pulev, Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce, and most recently Otto Wallin in February. He last challenged for heavyweight gold in December 2022, when Tyson Fury stopped him at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to retain his WBC crown.

‘Whoa': Aussie champ rejects boxing legend with six-words going viral
Aussie champ Skye Nicolson has brutally rejected boxing legend Derek Chisora in footage that has swirled across cyberspace. The former WBC featherweight world champion has been widely applauded for her blunt rejection of the veteran heavyweight after they crossed paths in an incident caught on camera. UFC 316: Dvalishvili vs O'Malley 2 | SUN 8 JUN 12PM AEST | Bantamweight champ Dvalishvili faces UFC superstar O'Malley in a highly anticipated rematch less than a year after their first encounter | Order Now with Main Event on Kayo Sports. Nicolson approached Chisora to pose for a photo together after an event, but the interaction took a turn when the 41-year-old asked the 29-year-old Aussie Olympian to go out together. Chisora, wearing a cowboy hat, shared a side-on hug with Nicolson before asking 'How are you?', to which Nicholson replied: 'Good, thanks.' You can watch the interaction in the video player above Chisora then changed course as he asked: 'When are we going to grab dinner?' However, she responded: 'Whoa. Don't be coming at me like that.' Chisora wasn't overly fazed as he quipped: 'Don't you like dinner?' Nicholson answered: 'I like dinner… on my own.' She walked off with her six-word comment leaving Chisora looking like he'd been rocked by an uppercut flush on his chin. Video of her brutal mic drop has spread to all corners of the boxing world, with most fans applauding the Aussie's reply. 'Biggest KO of Del Boy's career,' one person posted on X. 'Skye is a savage,' another person posted. Another person wrote: 'The definition of punching above your weight,' posted a third. One X user wrote: 'She's a professional athlete & won't be treated any differently'. Others, however, sympathised with Chisora. One said: 'He just asked her out basically and she thought that was somehow crossing the line?' Another declared: 'How should a man ask a woman if they're going to grab dinner or not?' One noted: 'She grabbed him like he was her boyfriend and got upset about grabbing dinner with him.' Another added: 'Derek shooting his shot, can't blame the lad.' Chisora is preparing for what he says will be the final fight of his career after he caused a major upset in rocking former champ Otto Wallin in their IBF world heavyweight title eliminator in February. Chisora is currently the mandatory challenger for the IBF heavyweight title, which is held by Daniel Dubois. Chisora is being forced to wait until after Dubois' re-match with Oleksadr Usyk, which is scheduled for July 19, before he hopes to get a shot at Dubois's world title belt later this year.

Derek Chisora already ‘planning' walkout for Daniel Dubois fight
Derek Chisora has already been 'planning' his walkout for a fight with Daniel Dubois, as the pair wait to find out whether they will box each other this summer. Dubois's promoter Frank Warren revealed last week that Chisora's fight with Otto Wallin was an IBF heavyweight title eliminator – a bout that Chisora won on points in February. That could set up the 41-year-old, who plans to box once more before retiring, to challenge Dubois for his belt. And Chisora is already mentally preparing himself. 'People have to think about business,' Chisora told The Ring. 'I want to fight Daniel, and I know for a fact I can sell out Wembley [Stadium] or Tottenham in that fight. 'I want to give a shoutout to the Manchester crowd who came out for my fight against Wallin and thanks to Frank Warren and Queensberry [Promotions], because it was unbelievable. It was a great show that ticked every box. But I knew what I was doing… it was not going to be the last one in the UK.' Chisora, who was referring to the fact that the bout was billed as his final fight on home soil, continued: 'Now I've been planning everything for this final fight, the whole music, everything. It's going to be a great show, and there are two concepts I'm working on. One is for Wembley and one is for Tottenham. 'Whatever happens, they're all going to be amazing. A Sunday bank holiday this summer is what I want. I think that would be f***ing amazing. 'Daniel is peaking right now, Daniel is on fire. If you let him take the first two rounds, he's going to destroy you. He's one of those fighters that... if you just let him come out the gates without maintaining him, you're in trouble. 'So, when we fight Daniel, the first two rounds are very crucial to us. We have to discipline him in the first two rounds, so he goes back in his shell. After that, let's see what happens.' Chisora also explained why he is so confident he will be paired with his compatriot, 27, whose preference has been to box unified champion Usyk. 'Listen, man, I don't see Daniel and Oleksandr fighting right now,' Chisora said. 'What are you going to fight for? Oleksandr has already stopped him. 'If [Usyk] wants to prove he's the best, he needs to defend his title against Joseph Parker. To be the best, you have to fight everybody. He's boxed Tyson Fury twice, AJ [Anthony Joshua] twice, he's boxed me once, he's boxed Daniel Dubois once. So, I think he should give a shot to Joseph Parker now.' Chisora was outpointed by Usyk in 2020, while the Ukrainian stopped Dubois in 2023 – but only after climbing off the canvas following a low blow, which some observers felt was a legal body shot. The unbeaten Usyk has now been ordered to defend his belts against Parker, who knocked out Martin Bakole on short notice in February, as the latter stepped in for an ill Dubois. Upon recovering, Dubois made clear his desire to face Usyk, rather than reschedule his bout with Parker. However, the title-fight order involving the Ukrainian and Parker marked a major blow to 'Dynamite''s plans. It could leave Dubois facing Chisora, who has vowed to honour his claim of fighting just one more time – a 50th professional bout for 'Delboy'. 'I'm 50 and out, definitely,' said Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs). 'I have to [stop], I have to. I can't keep doing this. I've only got one more training camp in me, I'm feeling it now. 'So, my final fight will be for the world title. It's all or nothing, brother. I could retire on [a title win], definitely. I could just walk off into the sunset and leave everything there. That would be an amazing way to end it.'
