Choo Young Woo's Head Over Heels tops buzzworthy drama list, GOOD BOY's Park Bo Gum reigns for 6th straight week
Head Over Heels ranked No. 1 on the buzzworthy drama list, as per Good Data Corporation's latest report for the week spanning July 7 to 13. As the show heads towards its penultimate week, unexpected plot twists and fluttering chemistry of the lead characters might have contributed to the soaring of its ratings. It's leads Cho Yi Hyun and Choo Young Woo ranked #2 and #3 among actors, respectively. Besides Head Over Heels, GOOD BOY also generated subsequent buzz last week, by ranking at No. 2 in drama list. The Prime Video series' lead, Park Bo Gum, continued to generate the most buzz among K-drama actors for 6 consecutive weeks. His GOOD BOY co-stars, Kim So Hyun and Oh Jung Se, also made it to the list at No. 5 and 7 respectively. Lee Jong Suk and Moon Ga Young's Law and the City also debuted in both the buzzworthy drama and actor lists, following the release of its second week's episodes. The workplace romance drama ranked #4, following the 3rd placed Squid Game Season 3. Law and the City's leads secured the 4th and 6th spots, while Squid Game's Jo Yuri ranked 9th. Our Movie rounded off the top 5 of the buzzworthy drama list, with its main characters Namkoong Min and Jeon Yeo Been securing 8th and 10th spots, respectively. Newly released dramas S Line and Low Life also debuted on the drama list at #6. Head Over Heels EXCLUSIVE: Choo Young Woo on risking life for love, changed friendship with Cho Yi Hyun and more
High schooler one morning, fellow doctor running chaotic ER the next, Choo Young Woo's 2025 has been nothing short of challenging. Reuniting with Cho Yi Hyun, the two are all set to present a young romance story, entangled with a fantasy concept. Head Over Heels premieres on June 23, to be streamed on TVING in South Korea and on Prime Video in selected regions. Following a first-love concept, the show aims to display the story between a girl who tries to protect the boy she has a crush on, while living a secret life as a shaman. Meanwhile, the new transfer has a tendency to lead with bad luck, and gets entangled with a strange classmate, ensuing a lot of confusion and some butterflies! About Choo Young Woo and his interview for Head Over Heels Choo Young Woo, son of popular Korean model Choo Seung Il, has been steadily climbing the acting popularity ladder, with an unexpected hit in the form of The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, which aired earlier this year. He's hoping to create the same effect with his latest role, named after his character of Bae Gyeon Woo. In an exclusive chat with us, the 26-year-old spoke about falling in love, his real life luck, and the possibility of checking out his past. Read below. After playing a doctor in his twenties, you then shifted back into a high schooler role. How do you manage to slip in and out of roles, and do you ever get confused? Choo Young Woo: Not really. No matter the role, I always try to look at the world through that character's perspective, so I don't find it confusing. I think what helps the most is finding a part of myself that resonates with each character and bringing that to the surface. Seong A can see the future — if you had that ability in real life, is there something you'd want to know or prefer to avoid? If you could see the past, which moment would you go to? Choo Young Woo: If I could see the future, I think I'd want to know small everyday things, but I'd want to avoid big misfortunes. If I could revisit the past, I'd love to go back to when I was little and watch myself playing with my parents. What does your luck look like in real life? Was there ever a day when you thought you invited bad luck? Choo Young Woo: I can't point to a specific day, but like the saying goes, sometimes misfortune comes all at once. I do remember times when one bad thing led to another, and the whole day just felt like a string of unlucky events. This isn't your first time working together. How did your relationship [with Cho Yi Hyun] change from the last time you starred in a K-drama, and what do you talk about when you hang out together? Choo Young Woo: I think working on this project brought us even closer. We used to mostly have small talk, but since we spent so much more time together this time, our conversations became more casual and personal— like what we ate, whether we got enough sleep, or how we were feeling. If you could swap roles with your co-star for a day, how would you approach playing their character? Choo Young Woo: I'd focus on highlighting Seong A's double life. I'd make sure to clearly show the contrast between her life as a shaman and as a regular student, and try to show a lot of things about her job. What are some surprising things you learned about each other while working on this drama, and what are you saved as, on each other's phones? Choo Young Woo: I found out that Yi Hyun is extremely careful. She's the kind of person who wouldn't cross a bridge without tapping it first. In my phone, she's saved as 'Yi Hyun.' If your co-star was living a double life, what do you think they'd be good at doing instead of acting, and what would their alias be? Choo Young Woo: I heard Yi Hyun's been really into gaming lately. I think she'd make a great professional gamer, and 'Seong A' would be the perfect alias. If soulmates were real, paint a picture of how you would like to meet yours, and would you risk your life to save them? Choo Young Woo: However it happens, I think just meeting someone you truly love is fate. If I met a fate like that, I think I'd be willing to risk my life for them. You've both turned into professionals, specializing in certain aspects for your roles. Which one would you pick as the easiest, and which was the toughest? Choo Young Woo: Rather than thinking in terms of what was easy or hard, I just enjoyed the process because it was a new challenge. Regarding the level of difficulty, the underwater scenes and fire scenes were probably the most difficult to pull off.

About the Korean drama 'Head Over Heels' 'Head Over Heels' follows a high school student, Park Seong A, who in the morning operates as any regular school-going kid, but as the night falls upon the world, she transforms into a shaman ! When the next day she finds herself face to face with Gyeon U in her school, she makes it her mission to change the wheels of fate herself. Wearing a uniform in All of Us Are Dead, School 2021, and Sweet Revenge, it's almost as if she's reliving her own academic days via these characters. Now ready to take on another challenge as a shaman who can see the future, she is rising as a promising actress in the industry. Head Over Heels Interview with Cho Yi Hyun In an exclusive chat with the lead actress of Head Over Heels, Cho Yi Hyun, who plays Park Seong A, revealed her own experience with learning about shamanism and dishes about their on-screen as well as off-screen chemistry this time around. Did you ever experience a shamanic ritual in real life? Where does your belief lie with such practices? Cho Yi Hyun: I've always been intrigued by shamanism. Through this project, I became even more fascinated by the mystery of what shamans do. Seong A can see the future — if you had that ability in real life, is there something you'd want to know or prefer to avoid? If you could see the past, which moment would you go to? Cho Yi Hyun: I don't really want to know the future. But if I could look into the past, I'd love to see the moment I was born and witness myself and my mother at that time. What does your luck look like in real life? Was there ever a day when you thought you invited bad luck? Cho Yi Hyun: I think luck is all about perspective. Even when something goes wrong, I consider myself lucky that it wasn't worse. So I always feel like I'm surrounded by good fortune. This isn't your first time working together. How did your relationship change from the last time you starred in a K-drama, and what do you talk about when you hang out together? Cho Yi Hyun: What changed is that we understand each other's personalities a lot better now. We could sense how the other was feeling without needing to say much. Most of our conversations were about the script, which we discussed a lot together. If you could swap roles with your co-star for a day, how would you approach playing their character? Cho Yi Hyun: Since I've already seen how Choo Young Woo portrayed the role, I'd probably ask him lots of questions and learn from him directly. What are you saved as on each other's phones? Cho Yi Hyun: He's saved in my phone as 'School 2021 Choo Young Woo 99.' If your co-star was living a double life, what do you think they'd be good at doing instead of acting, and what would their alias be? Cho Yi Hyun: I think he'd be great in a job that is people-centered and outgoing. I don't think he'd need to use an alias. If soulmates were real, paint a picture of how you would like to meet yours, and would you risk your life to save them? Cho Yi Hyun: I haven't met someone I'd risk my life for yet, so it's hard to imagine. Maybe because I haven't experienced that kind of love, I'm not sure I could go that far. Which role of yours would you pick as the easiest, and which was the toughest? Cho Yi Hyun: Honestly, I wouldn't say any part of it was easy. Portraying a shaman was definitely the hardest. But working closely with a real-life shaman and practising repeatedly gave me a real sense of accomplishment—and made me want to push myself even more.
