Dolphins Ecstatic to Have Trio of Pass Rushers Healthy
Dolphins Ecstatic to Have Trio of Pass Rushers Healthy originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Miami Dolphins have three dynamic pass rushers, who are all expected to be healthy heading into the 2025 season. Advertisement According to Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN, this is the first time that Bradley Chubb, Jaelan Phillips, and 2024 first-round pick Chop Robinson have all practiced together. "I feel myself smiling," Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said. "I think having you know both Bradley and Jaelan back is something... it's a different presence that I think has been understated and has been gigantic." Chubb missed all of last season recovering from multiple torn ligaments in his knee, while Phillips missed much of 2024 with a partially torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The trio of defenders have all flashed their pass rushing abilities, with Chubb as the most established player in the group and Robinson taking the role of the rising star. Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Zach Sieler (92), linebacker Bradley Chubb (2) and linebacker Jaelan Phillips (15) against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Hartline-Imagn Images Chubb says he is excited about the chance to work in rotation with Robinson and Phillips. Advertisement "Sitting down with Chop, seeing when he started to turn it on, I [was] just smiling from ear to ear because I know the potential we had," Chubb said. "I know when 'JP' got back, once I got back, it was going to be a lot of thinking for the offensive side to do." Robinson racked up six sacks last season, but Legwold says he was one of the best pass rushers in the NFL in the final 11 weeks of the season, with the third-highest quarterback pressure rate in the league during that span. Phillips had 6.5 sacks in eight games before going down with a torn Achilles in 2023, and Chubb had 11 sacks before getting hurt in Week 17 of the same season. The potential is clearly there, it will just be a matter of health for a group of edge rushers that could surprise some people as one of the best in the NFL. Miami Dolphins Top 10 players countdown: Edge rusher Chop Robinson is No. 10
Editor's Note: This is part of a Countdown to Training Camp: Dolphins 2025 series. We'll unveil two players in the Dolphins' top 10 in each of the coming weeks. MIAMI GARDENS — Miami Dolphins edge rusher Bradley Chubb said he was smiling ear-to-ear watching back the rookie film of teammate Chop Robinson. Advertisement And Chubb said he's seen Robinson taking yet another step. "Chop has put pedal to the metal," Chubb said during organized team activities. Robinson proved worthy of the 21st pick in the 2024 NFL draft. He posted 6 sacks, 14 quarterback hits and 26 tackles. "You look at (Chop) when he came in, man, he didn't know right from left," outside linebackers coach Ryan Crow said. "That's what happens when you're a rookie. And when he started to settle in and figure out the game, then it really opened up for him. So he's still taking off and ascending and he's fun to be around." Why Chop Robinson is 10th-best Miami Dolphins player Robinson has speed and power and a solid work ethic. Advertisement Robinson excelled even when Chubb and Jaelan Phillips were out injured. And so lining up with one or both of them at the same time in 2025 creates even more danger for opponents. "The goals of mine, I just want to keep it to myself," Chop said during offseason workouts. "Just show the world. And show myself." Chop will continue to work on setting an edge against the run. The Dolphins' strongest defensive unit, by far, is the edge rushers room. Telling Stat Chop Robinson had 6 sacks and 14 quarterback hits as a rookie. That ranked second in the NFL among first-year players in each category. Braden Fiske and Jared Verse of the Rams were first. Advertisement Chubb re-worked his deal to return in 2025. Phillips could be a free agent after 2025. Robinson says he has an offseason focused more on football than combine training, and he believes that will serve him well on the field. We see a jump to 8-to-10 sacks in 2025 and we see Robinson proving worthy of the selection made by general manager Chris Grier. Joe Schad: Miami Dolphins seek 'new identity' for 2025, but what is it? Miami Dolphins' Chop Robinson, De'Von Achane: 2025 team chemistry better; no missed days
Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel wants his players to be focused, on-time, self-disciplined and present, physically and emotionally, in 2025. It appears they've gotten the message. "I just say as a team, we're putting that energy and we're here every day, we be putting in that energy and we're here like every day, we're not missing days," running back De'Von Achane said. "Like you can see, like, this year's team is way different than last year's team." Advertisement After last season, some Dolphins players said there was some tardiness and some lack of total presence and focus at times. McDaniel believes an 8-9 finish last year helps send a clear message. The Dolphins must be more locked in, right away, in 2025. "I mean just everybody being here, you get to see the team chemistry like everybody just wants the same goal, everybody wants to be great," Dolphins edge rusher Chop Robinson said. "Everybody wants to win. So the only way to do that is doing it all together. So the chemistry is definitely better than it was last year." Dolphins' Chop Robinson: Chemistry better in 2025 The Dolphins are sorting out a potential trade for veteran cornerback Jalen Ramsey. But it is clear that overall, Miami has strong voluntary attendance. Advertisement Reporters even saw some veteran players watching a recent rookie minicamp. "All the people being here, we're just building that chemistry early and not waiting until like, you know, when the season started, then trying to build like during the season," Achane said. Mandatory Credit: Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports With key veteran leaders like Terron Armstead and Calais Campbell gone, other players need to step up into that role. Achane, for example, is somehow already the longest-tenured Dolphins running back. Achane is only 23 years old. He's listening intently to McDaniel's directive. Dolphins' De'Von Achane: This is going to be different "Yeah, most definitely about being present," Achane said. "Like you said, just how I mentioned everybody's here. Like, you know, we know it's voluntary, but like if you want to win, you want to win games, this is where it starts at. I feel we're doing a good job as that. As long as we keep that going we're going to see this season is going to be different than last year." What time will the Steelers make their pick in the 1st round of the 2025 NFL draft?
What time will the Steelers make their pick in the 1st round of the 2025 NFL draft? After what has been a long and confusing offseason, the 2025 NFL draft is finally here. The Pittsburgh Steelers had a very quiet offseason aside from the trade to land wide receiver DK Metcalf. This has us anticipating the upcoming draft even more. Especially that all-important first-round pick. Based on last season, if the Steelers stay put at pick No. 21, you can expect the Steelers to make their pick somewhere in the neighborhood of 10:36 PM ET. This is when the Miami Dolphins made their choice of Chop Robinson in 2024. If the Steelers do stay put, their top target could be former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. In recent years, the Steelers haven't hesitated to trade up for a player they want, such as offensive tackle Broderick Jones in 2023. However, it is rarer for the Steelers to trade back, even if it meant they could recoup the second-round pick they gave up in the Metcalf trade.

But he was a star down the stretch with 42 quarterback pressures in his last nine games of the year. Robinson finished the season with six sacks and eight tackles for loss. Verse had 4.5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, and earned Pro Bowl honors.
