Motorcyclist clocked allegedly riding at 198kph in Townsville over Easter
A motorcyclist clocked allegedly riding at a "disturbing" 198 kilometres per hour in Townsville over the Easter weekend has had his licence suspended. The 34-year-old from Brisbane's West End was allegedly going 110kph over the speed limit when he was pulled over just before 9pm on Sunday on University Road at Annandale. He's also been fined $1,854 and lost eight demerit points. His license has been suspended for six months. Acting Chief Superintendent Chris Lawson said it was "extremely disturbing" and disappointing. "It's not just your licence at risk when you travel at such a dangerous speed, you are putting yourself and other road users at risk of death or serious injury," he said.
