Todd added, 'But then I thought, let me embrace this. This is a moment.' Julie, who has been known for her signature blonde locks, looked stunned by her husband's admission, responding, 'Are you kidding me, right now?' 8 Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley discuss their after prison looks. Kat Ramirez for Fox News Digital Todd confessed, 'It was a rough moment because I had never seen you dark in my life.' The mom of three then reminded Todd that she didn't have much of a say behind bars. 'Well, I know that Todd, but I didn't have any choice,' she said. 'Was there a horrible picture that came out of me?' Julie inquired. 'Yes, but the way I flip that is look at me now! Now, people think I look even better because that horrible picture was out there to begin with.' Todd didn't see it that way, exclaiming, 'I will say, you set the bar low, you had nowhere to go but up.' Julie reprimanded her co-host, telling the patriarch, 'Now, that wasn't very nice.' Todd doubled down, saying, 'I'm just trying to be honest. That's why we have 'Chrisley Confessions 2.0.'' 8 Todd and Julie Chrisley are spotted together for the first time since being freed by Donald Trump. 'I'll admit, I looked crazy,' she shared. 'But now, see, people think when they see me, 'Oh, my God, you look so good!' and I'm thinking, yeah, because you saw that picture of me looking crazy.' Despite Todd's strong opinions, the pair remain a united front. 'We're 30 years in now … so five years from now, 10 years from now, whatever,' Julie explained about divorce rumors swirling. 'We're still going to be together. So guess what? I don't really care.' 'My mother is an angel. She's still a beautiful woman. Her hair is darker now,' he told Entertainment Tonight on May 31. 'I'm like, 'Mama, we've got to go back platinum blonde.' And she's like, 'I'm not doing that.'' In 2019, the 'Chrisley Knows Best' stars were indicted, with federal prosecutors accusing them of submitting fake documents to banks in order to garner more than $30 million in loans. Julie was pardoned from her seven-year sentence at FMC Lexington in Kentucky, while Todd was released from his 12-year stretch behind bars at FPC Pensacola in Florida. Now, the duo couldn't be happier to be reunited. 'Oh my gosh, it has been amazing. It's still just kind of … it doesn't feel real,' their daughter Savannah Chrisley, 27, told People after her parents first night home. 'We were going to bed last night. We're like, 'Is this real?' And then, I wake up this morning and my mom's walking into my bedroom and I'm like, it's absolutely insane!' she gushed. 'We are just so grateful and ready to kind of start getting back to normal life, obviously, the best we can. Everything's a whirlwind right now, and it's kind hard to live a normal life with how things are right now, but we'll get there.'

Julie Chrisley responds to claims of bogus cancer diagnosis before going to jail for fraud

Julie Chrisley has slammed claims that she faked her breast cancer diagnosis in the past. During Wednesday's episode of their family podcast, the 52-year-old addressed the 'crazy' accusations. She said on Chrisley Confessions 2.0: 'The one thing that I wanna talk about that was in the tabloids is they said that I faked my breast cancer, and that is the craziest thing.' The reality TV star added: 'What people don't realize is [that] I was diagnosed with breast cancer [in] March of 2012.' Her husband Todd, 56, chimed in and said that he recalled how she received her diagnosis when she was 39 years old. The couple - who were serving multi-year sentences prison after being convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion prior to Trump's presidential pardon - noted that she received her cancer diagnosis 'before this happened.' She clarified that she 'had already been diagnosed with breast cancer' a decade before their trial and convictions. Talking about the summer of 2012, when they were grieving the loss of Todd's father, Julie said: 'I was completing my treatment at that time but the thing is that someone would think that I would ever fake a breast cancer diagnosis. 'I have had the pleasure of meeting so many amazing, wonderful women who have fought the breast cancer fight.' Julie said that it was 'so disrespectful' towards them to accuse her of faking breast cancer. She added: 'Obviously, if that's something I was gonna do, it didn't help because I went to prison. But I went to prison 11 years later.' She said 'it didn't even make sense' for her to fake her cancer diagnosis because she was still convicted and sentenced to serve a (later-reduced) seven-year prison sentence in Lexington, Kentucky. Her husband Todd was originally sentenced to 12 years in prison for his federal fraud charges but only served a portion of his sentence. Todd and Julie served more than two years in prison for tax evasion, fraud and conspiracy before receiving a full presidential pardon in May 2025. In late May, President Trump personally called their daughter Savannah Chrisley, 27, to inform her of his decision to grant the couple clemency. Todd and Julie's daughter Savannah also addressed the fake breast cancer claims and said she was 'dumbfounded' by the accusations on her Unlocked podcast last month. She said on a June episode of her podcast: 'I was getting my coffee across the street this morning and I was looking through social media and I saw to where someone commented that my family was this fraud and we're terrible human beings, XYZ, and how my mother faked her breast cancer diagnosis. 'Apparently, she faked her breast cancer diagnosis to avoid court proceedings, was what this individual said.' In response to that accusation, she explained: 'They weren't federally or criminally charged until 2019. So, that right there completely debunks your whole theory.' Savannah continued: 'For someone to make an accusation that my mother lied about having breast cancer at the age of 39, there truly is a special place in hell for you. It's that simple.'

Todd and Julie Chrisley Call Life ‘Rougher' After Prison Release

It's been approximately two months since Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley were released from prison. And the couple are giving insight into what their life is like after being behind bars. According to them, life is 'rougher' after getting out. A jury convicted Todd and Julie of tax evasion and fraud charges in 2023, and they spent 28 months in prison. Their daughter Savannah Chrisley fought for their release. In May, she successfully secured a presidential pardon for her parents and brought them home. Julie Chrisley has spoken to fellow former inmates since her release However, Todd and Julie aren't instantly bouncing back. They were in shock right after coming home and adjusting to life outside of prison. They talked a bit more about it on their newly returned podcast, Chrisley Confessions 2.0. 'I've actually talked to a few of the women that I was in prison with that they're already home,' Julie said during their July 23rd episode. 'We all have this general consensus that … it's kind of weird to even say it.' 'Life is rougher than prison life,' Todd confirmed. He realized that it was 'a sad thing to say,' but that it was true. 'It's so horrific, the conditions that you're there for, but that's from a physical standpoint,' he admitted. 'But from an emotional and psychological standpoint, it is harder dealing with day to day.' Julie explained that part of it was knowing that in prison they 'don't have any control' and that there is 'very little you can do.' That changed her way of thinking when it came to life behind bars. 'People told me when I first got there, that you can't live out there and in here at the same time because it will literally drive you crazy,' she shared. 'And it's true. The longer you are in there, the more removed you become to the world.' The couple admit that rediscovering their normal routine is 'crazy' and it's challenging getting back into the swing of running a house and making sure everything is done. Most of all, they both admit that sleeping has been the biggest difficulty. 'I went to prison for 28 months and I never had trouble sleeping,' Todd shared. 'Maybe because I wasn't fighting with everybody. The Chrisley Clan, they're the ones who have kept me awake all these years.' Julie agreed that she loves her children and family, but prison forced her to focus only on herself. Being at home means adjusting her way of thinking again.
