Manchester City prospect set for immediate loan after joining Bayer Leverkusen
Sport Bild reports that Manchester City prospect Farid Alfa-Ruprecht is set for an immediate loan out after joining Bayer Leverkusen. The Hamburg-native is still set to join the Bundesliga outfit on a permanent basis. The German tabloid does not specify where the 19-year-old might be headed. Alfa-Ruprecht is one among many developmental prospects Leverkusen have acquired this summer. Defenders Axel Tape (17) Abdoulaye Faye (20) also joined Germany's red company team. The purchase of Cameroonian striker Christian Kofane was sealed earlier today. Advertisement Leverkusen have also immediately loaned out defender Tim Oermann (Strum Graz) while organizing loan outs for previously acquired prospects Francis Onyeka (Bochum) and Artem Stepanov (Nürnberg). Alfa-Ruprecht – like Kofane – nevertheless constitutes a serious investment. Like Kofane, the teenage talent will cost die Werkself a fee in the neighborhood of €5m. In Kofane's case, however, Leverkusen appear to feel comfortable keeping the rapid riser on the first team squad. GGFN | Peter Weis

Bayer Leverkusen complete Christian Kofane capture
Under the specter of potential legal action, Bayer Leverkusen have still officially completed the signing of Cameroonian striker Christian Kofane. The 18-year-old's now former Spanish Segunda club Albacete Balompié claims that Leverkusen have finalized the transfer by paying a larger sum than the €5m release clause embedded in the player's contract. Kofane actually passed his Bayer medical well over a month ago, but the transaction has been stuck in limbo due to squabbles over the payment. In any event, the teenage talent who scored eight goals in the Segunda last year now belongs to Germany's red company team. Kofane's new Leverkusen contract runs until 2029. Advertisement Kofane only just made the leap to Europe last year. Incredibly, he's increased his estimated market value from €200,000 to €5m in the span of just three short months. Kofane is presumably slated for the Leverkusen reserves, but that was also the case with his Spanish club. He rose most unexpectedly at his previous station. 'Christian Kofane is an extremely explosive and fast striker who is technically skilled and very assertive,' B04 sporting director Simon Rolfes noted in a club statement. 'He will further diversify our game with his strengths and has the potential to become an important part of our team in the coming years.' 'It's incredible for me that after such a short time in Europe, I now have the opportunity to play for a Champions League club,' the player himself added. 'I will give everything to make the most of this chance in the Bundesliga. There are many examples in the history of Bayer 04 of young players who have achieved great things here.' GGFN | Peter Weis

Albacete threaten Bayer Leverkusen target Christian Kofane with legal action
Bayer Leverkusen target Christian Kofane has been threatened with legal action by his current employers, Spanish side Albacete, after training at a private football school in the city. Jorge Buergo, quoted via AS/Bild, said: 'It seems strange and irresponsible that the player is engaging in sporting activities outside the contractually agreed-upon control of Albacete's coaches,' before describing the player's behaviour as 'disrespectful' while threatening to 'take legal action' should the offence be repeated. Advertisement Kofane has already undergone and completed a medical with Bayer Leverkusen. A reason for the delay, as reported by Bild, is because the player's release clause of a reported €5m doesn't come into effect until mid-July. Despite the actions of the player at Albacete, this won't put the Cameroonian's move to Leverkusen in doubt, as further noted by Bild. The 18-year-old scored eight goals and provided one assists in 20 LaLiga2 games for Albacete last season. GGFN | Daniel Pinder
