Happy Gilmore 2: Adam Sandler, Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald tee up in sequel

Article content Article content Christopher, Shooter McGavin is an iconic character. You've always said that this movie is the gift that keeps on giving. Is there something that got to do this time around that you always wanted to do? Article content Christopher: That's a good question. Yes, it is the gift that keeps on giving. I'm glad we're here at this moment because it's coming out really soon. It's something I've been praying for and been an ambassador for years. I feel there's only two ways to go with Shooter McGavin, and I don't know wanna give any thing Sure. I took a different trajectory. I think that's a fair thing to say. Article content Adam: Shooter's chipping away, man. Article content Adam: It was kind of like everything 30 years later, you had a lot of stories to think about what could happen, what went on with these people's lives and just imagining what the hell they've been through and it couldn't have been more exciting as a writer. Me and Tim Hurley would sit and we would just laugh and say maybe this happened or this happened, and Shooter's storyline was extra funny. And, Julie and I had a nice love story that we enjoyed writing about and thinking about and stuff like that. Article content Article content Adam, you were 30 when you wrote and started in the original. So how have you reflected on that time period of your life and being a comedic actor/ writer then and now? Article content Adam: Well, I think that probably the thing I thought about most was that when I shot the original, I weighed 178. Not anymore (laughs). That was fun, though. Article content Article content Christopher: 188 now. Article content Christopher: Did you use it? Article content Julie: I don't know that I actually kept anything physical. I wanted the crocodile, the alligator. I have some great pictures of me lying on top of that. It looks very real. So I do have a lot of pictures that I took back then because I had an actual camera, not a phone camera. I don't think I actually took anything, but you were complimenting Perry Blake, who was the designer for both movies — 30 years ago and all Adam Sandler movies. I would have taken Chubbs' hand. We'd have to send it around like the Stanley cup so everybody can have it. Article content Christopher: It stuck out so far. It was a side gag from day one. They were nice enough to let me take my clubs, but then the sandman gave me the driver. Now this driver was a Wilson. To this day, I still have it and I hit it like a bomb. So thank you again for that [to Sandler]. The clubs are insanely beautiful and they're a classic. Article content One of my favorite things in the film is the running gag of the many different items turned into things into flasks that we see Happy Gilmore using. Adam: That's funny, man. We wrote that stuff and then the props department, Tim, he's been doing our movies forever and he just would say, what about this? And show us something funny and that made sense. Josh Barrie On the Sauce with Tom Parker Bowles: Could his posh squash be your new booze-free squeeze?

The easy way into this is to say Christopher's cordials are the Queen's favourite and leave it there. That should be propagation enough, though it must help that she had samples for free. Her son Tom Parker Bowles, one of the two entrepreneurs behind them, is generous like that. He and I are at The Devonshire so I can sample this newfangled squash. It doesn't help that the landlord — more art collector these days — Oisín Rogers is reluctant to allow us to open the blackcurrant and blueberry in case we lose our minds and make Guinness and black, a concoction banned on the premises. We distract Rogers with a painting of a horse and give it a go. The idea is that it prompts a Ratatouille moment, sending the drinker dizzyingly back to childhood glasses of cold Ribena. Then there's lemon and redcurrant, possibly fit for Wimbledon, and gooseberry and lime, the one I try to purloin while Parker Bowles — still enthralled by England's 22-run win over India a day earlier — is seeing about tickets to the next Test. This cricket fanatic tells me about how cordials were born in the Italian Renaissance, how they were conceived as medicines but hold a special place in British culture today. To that end it's a canny move: people are drinking less and searching for interesting options sans alcohol. Kombucha can't be the only answer. Cordials made with lemons from Aci Sant'Antonio, a bucolic commune in Sicily, might be an alternative. They cost £11.50 a bottle, which is a lot for squash, but then what do you expect? These are fancy creations to sip while watching cricket, picnicking on Clapham Common, or running amok in the gardens of Buckingham Palace. And yes, they'd work perfectly mixed with a good crémant. These will be stacked beside the Perelló olives and Ortiz tins in no time. They've been crafted with efficacy. Maybe your mum might like some. Bar snacks Wiltons Jermyn Street, SW1, A happy hour? At Wiltons? Even restaurants founded in 1742 embrace modernity every so often. Until August 30, the famed seafood joint is putting on a special menu of martinis and canapés between 5.30pm and 6.30pm from Monday to Saturday. It pairs, for £18 a go, variations on the classic cocktail with crostini with olive tapenade, devilled eggs with caviar, and smoked trout and soda bead. Wiltons's own gin — highly botanical — is available, so too Padstow and Belvedere vodka. Unmissable, I'd say. Oriole Slingsby Place, WC2, Jazz manouche fans should heed the call of Oriole this summer. The Covent Garden cocktail bar is launching a new 'Hot Club' series, with live performances every Thursday evening from 8pm. If you visit, have a slingsby sling (rum, cherry wine and grapefruit) and a sando — avoid the burger due to truffle oil — and punctuate your evening with a pre- or post-jazz carafe at Le Beaujolais, which is artfully nearby. Covent Garden, a good night out… who knew?

Danbury residents 43-year-old Trista L. Reilly and 42-year-old Christopher Drew Arnold were arrested after they exited the JetBlue flight which took off from New York and was headed to Sarasota, Florida, according to US-based news outlet WWSB. The mother of the children informed the flight attended that her children witnessed two other passengers engaging in sexual activity in their seats. Authorities told WWSB that the flight attendant was directed to the area where Reilly and Arnold were sitting and the attendant witnessed Reilly 'making up-and-down movements with her head while she was face down on Mr. Arnold's lap". In the witness, the mother of the children said that even after the couple realized the two children were watching 'they didn't stop", according to a separate report by the CT Post. The two children then confirmed their accusations and told authorities that they directly observed the sexual acts. Melaka couple on drugs arrested after 13km high-speed chase

MELAKA: A couple, believed to be under the influence of drugs, made a desperate attempt to escape the police by speeding 13km from Tengkera, even ramming into a Motorcycle Patrol Unit (URB) officer before being apprehended in Taman Bukit Rambai yesterday evening. The incident, which occurred around 6pm, began when the suspects who were in a car, refused to stop when approached by URB officers from the Tengkera police station at Pangsapuri Taman Anika. Melaka Tengah district police chief Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit said the officers gave chase as the car sped along Jalan Tun Tuah, continued to Jalan Tun Perak, and eventually entered Lebuh AMJ. The URB team then requested backup from a Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) unit to help intercept the fleeing vehicle, which continued at high speed until Jalan Teruna 1, Taman Bukit Rambai. Along the way, it also rammed into a civilian vehicle in Tengkera. The suspect was driving recklessly, including crashing into a civilian vehicle near Rumah Awam Datin Fatimah in Tengkera, running red lights, and endangering other road users, he said. Upon reaching Jalan Teruna 1, Bukit Rambai, the suspect reversed the car and rammed into a URB officers motorcycle, causing minor injuries. Both suspects were eventually caught with assistance from the MPV team and the Tengkera Task Force. Upon inspection, officers found a bag containing two transparent packets of a substance believed to be heroin, weighing a total of 15.06g, believed to be for personal use. Christopher added that the suspects, aged 26 and 28, were taken to the Tengkera police station for further action. A urine test showed both tested positive for methamphetamine. Police also seized a weighing scale, a set of keys, and the car. The case is being investigated under Sections 186 and 332 of the Penal Code, as well as Sections 39B and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. Meanwhile, a 1-minute 15-second video of the MPV chase involving the suspects car has gone viral on social media, drawing various reactions from netizens.

'I'm so angry': Christopher Lee shares thoughts about son Zed sharing bed with Fann Wong, Entertainment News

Christopher Lee recently expressed his thoughts about his spot on the bed being taken over by his son Zed. Speaking to Taiwanese media in an interview published on July 19, the 54-year-old, who is currently promoting his new drama Islanders, was asked if he still shares a bed with his actress wife Fann Wong. "My son is taking up my space [on the bed] now. I'm so angry," he said. Christopher, who films in Taiwan often, added that he has been asking when Zed, nine, is going to return to his own room, because the boy has been sleeping on his spot for too long. A reporter also asked him if Zed would return the space to him when he returns home from a long overseas trip. "He wouldn't budge. But I already told my wife, it's time to chase him back to his own room. It's all due to him and not because my wife and I can't [share a bed]," Christopher added. In Islanders, Christopher plays charismatic and powerful entrepreneur Li Xianhong, who is entangled in three relationships with his wife, longtime mistress and a much younger girlfriend. His downfall comes when he makes an offhand remark, which goes viral on social media and sparks public backlash, placing him and his relationships in public scrutiny which could cost him everything. Christopher was also asked if he has any worries about his age gap with Zed as the latter grows up. [[nid:719973]] He responded: "No, those of his generation have their ways of handling matters. Instead, I feel that as I grow older, I will need to learn more from them. In that way, I can live more comfortably. "I hope that when my son goes out in the future, he will bring me along... I keep telling him that he should bring me along when he goes out to play in the future." A reporter also asked if he would wish to go to a bar with Zed in the future, to which he said yes. "We don't have to sit together; I can drink by myself... I want to see how he has fun," Christopher said, adding that he may just bring Zed to a bar when he turns 18 years old. Islanders, which also stars Golden Horse Award-winning actor Wu Kang-ren, is now available on Prime Video and releases new episodes every Friday.
