WWE: Five famous wrestlers who died in the past 10 years
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has thrilled fans for decades with unforgettable characters, fierce rivalries, and emotional moments. However, behind the bodyslams and WrestleMania moments lies the harsh reality of the business, as many icons have passed away too soon. While a few wrestlers have lived beyond the age of 80, many legends of the squared circle have left us early. In this article, we will look at five former WWE wrestlers who left us too soon, each leaving behind a unique legacy. Hulk Hogan (1953-2025) The 13-time champion died last week from cardiac arrest. Emergency responders were dispatched to Hogan's home in Clearwater, Florida, after a 911 call reported a cardiac emergency. He was treated at the scene by Clearwater Fire & Rescue and transported to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:11. Scott Hall (1958–2022) Known as 'Razor Ramon' in WWE and a founding member of the nWo in WCW, Scott Hall redefined cool in wrestling. After a long battle with addiction, Hall passed away in March 2022 due to complications from hip surgery that led to multiple heart attacks. He was 63. Roddy Piper (1954–2015) A master of the mic and one of WWE's greatest villains, Roddy Piper brought unpredictability and intensity to every feud. His infamous 'Piper's Pit' segment set a standard for wrestling interviews. Piper died suddenly from a heart attack in July 2015 at the age of 61. Despite being a heel for most of his career, Piper was deeply respected by fans and peers. His legacy continues through his children, including MMA fighter Teal Piper. Matt 'Rosie' Anoa'i (1970–2017) Part of the legendary Anoa'i wrestling family, Rosie teamed with Jamal in 3-Minute Warning before later forming a superhero-themed tag team with The Hurricane. Rosie, who was the older brother of Roman Reigns, died from congestive heart failure in April 2017 at the age of 47. Bray Wyatt (1987–2023) Windham Rotunda, best known as Bray Wyatt, was a creative genius and three-time world champion. His eerie promos and reinvention as 'The Fiend' made him a modern-day icon. After battling heart issues exacerbated by COVID-19 complications, Wyatt died in August 2023 at just 36 years old. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. Hulk Hogan's final conversation with estranged daughter
Hulk Hogan and his daughter, Brooke, may have had a rocky relationship in recent years, but they still had a lot of love for each other. The wrestling legend was pronounced dead after Clearwater Fire & Rescue personnel were dispatched to his Clearwater, Florida, home late Thursday morning in response to a call about a 'cardiac arrest.' He was 71. 'He was very proud of her, she was his little girl,' a rep for Brooke told Page Six. 'We still can't believe he is gone.' Brooke and Hulk have been estranged since September 2023 when the 37-year-old skipped out on her father's wedding to Sky Daily. In light of Hulk's tragic death, their final emotional conversation has now been revealed. Their last conversation, which allegedly took place two weeks before her father tied the knot with Daily, involved Brooke telling her father she loved him, reports TMZ. Brooke allegedly told her father how deep love and concern for his wellbeing went, and shared she wanted him to slow down his career due to his health problems. While Hulk didn't listen to his daughter's advice, he did extend a vague apology to his daughter. Brooke had been estranged from her dad due to a series of issues they'd been experiencing and Hulk's alleged treatment of her. On several occasions, Brooke's husband Steven Oleksy allegedly tried to mend their relationship. But, his efforts were fruitless as sources said Hulk was mainly interested in a relationship with his daughter on his terms. Sources close to Brooke claim she's told those around her that she's 'grateful' that she said 'I love you' to her father in their final conversation and is 'at peace' with their relationship knowing she did all she could to fix their situation. Insiders went on to tell the outlet that Brooke learned of the WWE star's death from her brother, Nick, who texted her husband to inform him of the news. 'Unfortunately, we must confirm that Terry Bollea, aka Hulk Hogan, passed away this morning,' his reps said in a statement, confirming his death. 'We are heartbroken. He was such a great human being and friend.' His passing came soon after Daily shut down negative rumours about his health earlier this month after Hulk had underwent an 'intense surgery' in May. 'His heart is strong, and there was never any lack of oxygen or brain damage. None of those rumours are true,' she said at the time, responding to rumours that he was in a coma. 'He's been recovering from a major four-level Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF), which is an intense surgery with a long and layered healing process,' she continued. An ACDF is a procedure that removes a damaged intervertebral disc from the spine in the neck. 'If you look it up, you'll see what the last six weeks have involved … not just for his spine, but also for his vocal cords, and the eating/breathing tubes that are clamped over during surgery.' After his procedure, he had been 'in an out of the hospital to support that recovery.' Hulk is survived by Daily, his first wife, Linda Hogan, and the children they shared: Brooke and Nick. In March, Linda claimed in an emotional Instagram story that Brooke cut ties with her eight years ago. She explained the estrangement was caused by her ex-husband Hulk. But Brooke hit back at her mother's comments, as she revealed more behind the longstanding family feud. She said in a series of screen grabs, 'I try very hard to ignore issues surrounding my family, in hopes I might have peace in my life. Sadly, I've intentionally made myself smaller in my professional career in music and TV; simply to dodge the public negativity surrounding my family that has continuously and relentlessly overshadowed anything I do. 'There was a recent video posted by my Mother that was concerning enough for people to send to me, that has made me feel the need to address the tip of a very large iceberg that is my immediate family. What little I am addressing does not even scratch the surface of what I've dealt with my entire life. 'I have completely separate reasons for going no contact with each of my parents. No contact with my Mom has nothing to do with my Dad, and no contact with my Father has nothing to do with my Mother. She went on to explain that experiences in her childhood 'robbed' her of 'self esteem' and 'confidence.' 'It took me many years to figure out the things that were seemingly done 'for me' really benefited someone else in a greater capacity.' She claimed to have received texts from family members with 'unbelievably hurtful words' that 'cannot be forgiven.' Brooke alleged she had been asked to defend poor behaviour in public, only to find out she was 'misinformed' and 'lied to.' 'I've watched others benefit financially off my suffering and embarrassment caused by their selfish behaviour,' she claimed.

911 response to Hulk Hogan's fatal cardiac arrest
The chilling audio of the 911 call as emergency services rushed to Hulk Hogan's Florida home has emerged following his death. The WWE icon died at the age of 71 early Thursday morning after suffering cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida. 911 operators could be heard dispatching paramedics to the scene as they noted the matter pertained to a cardiac arrest in the disturbing audio of the call, which was obtained by TMZ shortly after the devastating news of his passing broke. A 'slew of police cars and EMTs were parked outside Hogan's home' where the wrestling legend was reportedly stretchered out and placed in an ambulance, according to the outlet. In a video shared to social media, responders were caught desperately trying to save Hogan's life as they transported him out of his home. They appeared to be administering CPR as they carried him to the ambulance. Officials reportedly responded to the call to emergency services at 9:51am. Hogan was treated by Clearwater Fire & Rescue personnel before being taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Hogan is survived by his third wife Sky, who he wed in 2023, children Brooke, 37, and Nick, 34, who he shared with first wife Linda Claridge, and two grandchildren. The shock death comes just weeks after his wife Sky denied rumors he was on his deathbed in a coma — and claimed his heart was 'strong' after he underwent a routine neck surgery. His representative said in a statement last month: 'He's had problems with his back for years but there's no emergency.' Last month, a source revealed to that Hogan — who was embroiled in a shocking family feud with his ex-wife Linda and estranged daughter Brooke earlier this year — was trying to work his way back to '100 percent' after neck and back operations. 'Hulk has a body ravaged by wrestling, his body is the body of a 140-year-old man with all the bumps and bruises through the years, and his recent neck and back surgeries have been harder to come back from,' a source close to Hogan said. 'But the rumors of heart issues is not a thing, and talk of him dying is farfetched. He is just having some struggle and trouble to get back to being 100 percent faster. He is getting older, he still is in good shape, works out. But he's a beaten man, just trying to get as right as possible. Obviously, he will never wrestle again, but it isn't because he is dying, it is because his bones are deteriorated.' Hogan had previously opened up about undergoing '25 surgeries in the past decade.' Speaking on Jake Paul's IMPAULSIVE podcast last year, he said: 'Ten of them were back surgeries. I've had both knees and hips replaced, shoulders — everything.' Fans were left concerned for Hogan when he appeared as a special guest on Fox & Friends at the start of May while sporting a worrying new look. Renowned for his deep tan, the WWE great's skin looked particularly weathered on air, while his usual white beard appeared to be dyed black despite his goatee and hair being left white — making for a strange contrast. Hogan's physical and mental condition likely came under strain during his very public fallout with his ex-wife and daughter back in March. In an astonishing video on social media, Linda first accused her former husband of being a 'complete liar' and 'sex addict'. She also claimed their family is 'in the worst mess' after Brooke cut both parents out of her life, before hitting back at her mom by alleging that her dad was not the only reason behind the shocking family divide, claiming she was 'verbally and mentally abused' during her childhood. 'Sadly, it would frequently turn physical. And sometimes it's not by the person you would assume, abuse comes in all shapes and sizes,' Brooke alleged. After Brooke's stunning response, Linda then took a dramatic U-turn by defending Hogan and branding her daughter a 'narcissist.'
