Ludwig responds to Mang0 Twitch ban controversy following Beerio Kart drinking stream
Popular streamer Ludwig Ahgren has publicly addressed criticism surrounding his Beerio Kart event after Super Smash Bros. pro Mang0 was banned from Twitch and dropped by Cloud9 for inappropriate behavior during the livestream. The June 21 event, held to celebrate the launch of Mario Kart World on the Nintendo Switch 2, required participants to finish a drink before completing a race. Mang0, reportedly intoxicated, harassed female content creators during the stream, sparking immediate backlash. In a July 1 Twitch broadcast, Ludwig shared that he had spoken privately with Mang0, who requested that Ludwig not comment further on the incident. 'He said, 'I wanna take it on the chin,'' Ludwig explained. 'That's a fair request.' Ludwig added that Mang0 has started a personal no-drinking commitment and is spending time with family. He pushed back against critics, stating, 'There's a perception of Mang0 people have in their mind, but they don't actually care about him. I don't think they'll be there when he's back streaming.' Ludwig confirmed he banned Mang0 from future events, citing complaints from his girlfriend and Maya Higa, who felt unsafe. 'People want me to take accountability. I said my piece. If people don't f**k with me, that's chill,' he said. He also questioned why Twitch banned Mang0 instead of holding him accountable as the event host, and reiterated Mang0's wish to handle matters privately. Previously, Ludwig called the public reaction 'lacking nuance.'

Zayed Khan reveals how he almost didn't get his role in Shah Rukh Khan's Main Hoon Na: ‘He asked me, can you act?'
More than two decades since Main Hoon Na (2004) lit up the silver screen, Zayed Khan has finally peeled back the curtain on how he landed the role of Lucky. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan for Brut India, Zayed, now 45, shared how he was never supposed to be in Main Hoon Na in the first place. 'Yaar, I think people know this story,' he began, 'but I was really lucky because the role was first given to Hrithik, and nothing happened there. Then the role was offered to Sohail Khan, but it didn't stick there either. Then the role was offered to Abhishek (Bachchan), it didn't stick there either. I don't know what happened.' Zayed Khan and Shah Rukh Khan What happened next could've been a scene straight out of a Bollywood film. Zayed, hoping to have choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan helm a song for another project, gave her a call. 'I wanted her to choreograph Mohabbat Hai Mirchi, then she tells me 'Where are you?' I said, 'I'm here.' Then she's like 'Meet me in my office right now,'' he recounted. But when he arrived, nothing looked familiar. 'I'm already on Cloud 9, I got dressed and went, and I walked into Shah Rukh's office. And I'm looking around and thinking that this does not look like Farah's office because there are only Shah Rukh's pics everywhere, and I'm thinking what is Shah Rukh's connection to Mohabbat Hai Mirchi.' Still believing this meeting was about the song, he confronted Farah with the obvious question: are we doing this or not? 'So I said, 'Farah sun, are we doing the song?' and she said, 'Just shut up — Shah Rukh is coming and he wants to talk to you.'' What followed was a surreal moment for the actor. 'I've been a big fan of Shah Rukh. When we were in boarding school, we used to stand in line at Natraj Cinema, Suicide Alley meh, to see his films,' he said with a nostalgic laugh. 'Shah Rukh was so sweet. He comes with his aura and his charm. He said, 'Zayed, you don't listen to how she says, but we are making a film and we are considering you as the second lead of the film.' So my heart stopped for a minute and I was like, what the hell is happening out here.' And then came the most Bollywood question of them all: 'He asked me, 'Just one question… can you act?' And then I looked at him and said, 'I was born to act'. I think he was very amused by my answer.' The moment of truth came when Farah got into her car. Zayed, holding his breath, waited for a verdict. She rolled down the window and simply said, 'Send me your measurements, you're going to be in my film.' Zayed summed it up perfectly: 'It was a pretty filmy moment.' About Main Hoon Na Released in 2004, Main Hoon Na marked the directorial debut of Farah Khan and featured an ensemble cast with Shah Rukh as Major Ram Prasad Sharma, a military officer with a secret mission and a hidden identity. Zayed Khan played Lucky, Ram's rebellious half-brother and college heartthrob, opposite Amrita Rao's Sanjana while Sushmita Sen portrayed Chandni Chopra, the chemistry teacher who stole both Ram's and the audience's hearts.

"He Was a Mess": Valkyrae Questions Mang0's Behavior Amid Ongoing Controversy
In the wake of a contentious and chaotic weekend livestream, esports veteran Joseph 'Mang0' Marquez is coming under fire ,not just from fans and peers, but now by industry legends such as Rachell 'Valkyrae' Hofstetter. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now A Community Favorite Crosses the Line Mang0, widely considered one of the most successful, popular, and influential Super Smash Bros. Melee players of all time, was one of 23 streamers invited to compete at the June 21 event, a raucous, booze-soaked tournament created by YouTube star Ludwig. Meant as an innocent, nostalgic nod to the original Mario Kart setup that should have been a funny and harmless throwback, the stream took a seriously gross turn almost immediately. Footage of the stream soon spread across all social media platforms and faced backlash for the action taking place as well as the normalization of high levels of drinking at creator events. Valkyrae Speaks Out: 'He Was a Disaster' Like many of us, during her June 24 livestream, Valkyrae was furious over the whole situation. She said, "'Really was fun, but the Mang0 situation was serious.' Yeah, no, Mang0 was a disaster. He was a mess. And I cannot believe the clips that I saw. I, just yeah, it is quite unfortunate. I do think that he needs to seek help for sure." Valkyrae speaks about the Mang0 Incident during Ludwig's Beerio Kart The fallout for Mang0 has been pretty swift and severe. On June 25, after facing backlash, he issued an apology on X, taking responsibility for the fact that he messed up, hurt people, and crossed a line. In his admission, he cited a recent history of alcohol-related misconduct and a willingness to change and learn from his mistakes. Even with these provisions, for many the damage was done. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Cloud9, Mang0's esports organization of many years, cut his contract in the wake of an internal investigation. In the midst of this, Ludwig personally declared that Mang0 would be banned from all future events his company runs, which would effectively remove him from most of the biggest Melee tournaments left. As the dust settles, fans and industry leaders alike are left with one inevitable question, how much is acceptable to endure in pursuit of content? One thing is for certain, Mang0's footprint on Melee can't be scrubbed clean, but whether or not he has a future in the community remains uncertain.

Mang0 gets banned on Twitch days after drunkenly harassing female streamers live at Beerio Kart 2025
(Image via YouTube/@Cloud9Mang0 & X/@scubaryan_) Smash Bros legend Joseph "Mang0" Marquez is facing the fallout after a wild night at Ludwig's Beerio Kart event. Known for his iconic Melee gameplay and chaotic charm, Mang0's recent behavior, drunkenly harassing streamers at the event, has landed him in serious hot water. Days later, he's been banned from Twitch, dropped by C9, and blocked from major tournaments. The community's response? A mix of disappointment, concern, and tough love. What Actually Happened? On June 21, Mang0 showed up to Ludwig's Beerio Kart World Cup , a drinking game twist on Mario Kart, where players had to finish their drinks during the race. What was supposed to be lighthearted chaos quickly turned sour. Mang0, heavily intoxicated, reportedly harassed several female streamers, most notably ExtraEmily, during the livestreamed event. The fallout? Swift. And brutal. Banned from Twitch… Again On June 25, Mang0's Twitch channel was officially suspended. Anyone visiting his page now sees the usual: 'This channel is temporarily unavailable due to a violation of Twitch's Community Guidelines.' It's unclear how long the ban will last, but given Twitch's strict policies on harassment and self-destructive behavior, even if done 'for entertainment', this one might not be short. Notably, this isn't Mang0's first Twitch ban. Back in 2021, he was briefly suspended for passing out drunk live on stream. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like True Italian Dining SJM Resorts Read More Undo The red flags have been waving for a while. Dropped by Cloud9 and Barred from Super Nova Before the Twitch ban even landed, Cloud9—the esports org Mang0's been with for years—cut ties with him. Then came the bombshell from Super Nova (previously Super Smash Con): Mang0's out. He won't be defending his championship titles in singles or doubles this year. In a statement, the tournament organizers said: 'The safety and respect of our attendees is of utmost importance to us.' Safe to say: the Melee scene is drawing a hard line. Mang0's Response: Rehab and Accountability Facing massive backlash, Mang0 took to X (formerly Twitter) to own up. Here's what he said: 'After reflecting on the worst moments of my life, I see a pattern: alcohol has always been involved,' he wrote. 'I promise I'm gonna beat this and show you that I can be a greater man without the influence of alcohol.' He also said he fully supports any future bans or consequences, adding that he's always wanted what's best for the Melee community. What's Next for Mang0? No word yet on how long Mang0's Twitch ban will last—or if it'll become permanent. But one thing's clear: the community is done turning a blind eye. The Smash community might be known for its memes and chaos, but it's also growing up. And it's holding its legends accountable. Game On Season 1 continues with Mirabai Chanu's inspiring story. Rehab fee paid, can Lotus buyers register flats now?
Noida: Around 200 homebuyers who have been waiting for years to get their flats at Lotus Boulevard Espacia registered could finally get relief, as the developer has paid a portion of its dues and said it is willing to settle court disputes to avail Uttar Pradesh's rehabilitation scheme. The developer, Cloud 9 Projects, deposited Rs 21 crore with Noida Authority in April this year, and this amounts to 25% of its dues after accounting for relief during the Covid period. A month later, Cloud 9 said it was negotiating with IndusInd Bank, a financial creditor which had filed a petition to initiate insolvency proceedings against the developer. The builder also said it aims to clear its recalculated dues by July. UP govt's rehabilitation package gave several concessions to developers, including a two-year waiver from paying interests and penalties imposed during the pandemic, if the builders deposited 25% of their revised dues. Projects under insolvency or under litigation could also avail the policy if all cases were withdrawn. Launched in 2009, the Espacia project has remained incomplete as the builder defaulted on paying its dues to the Noida Authority, embroiling it in several legal cases. The society, built on 10 acres of land in Sector 100, was supposed to be completed by 2016. Partial occupancy was granted for five towers in March 2016, but 320 out of 366 flats got their registries. The remaining two towers, which have another 168 flats, did not get registered either. "If Cloud 9 Projects follows through on its assurances and formally withdraws or settles the cases, the Noida Authority may finally classify the project as a legacy stalled project, allowing it to unlock registrations and occupancy for 214 remaining flats," a senior Noida Authority official said. Because of pending registries and occupancy certificates, homebuyers had approached the Allahabad HC, which in Feb 2024 directed the Noida Authority to issue the mandatory certificates without insisting on clearance of dues from the builder. The court also directed the ED to investigate the developer for alleged misuse of homebuyers' funds and allowed the Authority to recover pending dues from unsold inventory in one of the towers. But this HC judgment triggered a slew of cases. Noida Authority filed a review petition, which was rejected in May 2024, prompting it to approach the Supreme Court. The special leave petition before SC is pending. The society's AOA also filed a contempt petition in the HC, alleging that the Noida Authority did not comply with the court's order even after the review plea was rejected. The contempt petition is pending too. Separately, Cloud 9 co-director Ashish Gupta filed a special leave petition before Supreme Court, challenging the high court's decision to fix personal liability on directors. The apex court in Oct 2024 issued a stay and restrained Enforcement Directoratefor taking any coercive action against Gupta. This petition will be taken up by the top court on July 22. Other than these cases, insolvency proceedings have been pending before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) since IndusInd Bank filed a petition against the developer in 2022. The developer said an insolvency resolution profession )IRP) has not been appointed till now and it is already in talks with the bank to settle the case — a step critical to avoid the project from entering insolvency proceedings, which would disqualify it from availing the rehabilitation package. "The company is waiting for recalculated dues from the Noida Authority. We want to settle the matter and complete the project," said Ashish Gupta, Cloud 9 director.
