NBA Trade Rumors: Chicago Bulls Guards Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu Drawing Leaguewide Interest Amid Roster Shakeup
Coby White (Image via NBA) The Chicago Bulls are again stirring the NBA trade pot—this time with Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu reportedly gaining attention from teams across the league. Following the trade that sent Lonzo Ball to Cleveland in exchange for Isaac Okoro, the Bulls appear to be on the verge of further backcourt changes amid tightening salary cap pressures and a looming financial reset. Trade Buzz Around Bulls' Backcourt According to ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel, White and Dosunmu have emerged as intriguing trade assets this offseason. 'Ayo Dosunmu and Coby White have drawn plenty of trade interest around the league, sources said. More teams have inquired about Dosunmu since before the draft than White,' Siegel reported. While the Chicago Bulls could hold onto both players through the trade deadline, the noise around potential offseason moves suggests that at least one could be on the way out. Coby White: Career Year, Rising Value Coby White is coming off the most impressive season of his six-year NBA career. The 25-year-old averaged: Stat Category 2024-25 Season Stats Points 20.4 Assists 4.5 Rebounds 3.7 Steals 0.9 Field Goal % 45.3% 3-Point % 37.0% Free Throw % 90.2% True Shooting % 60.1% Minutes Per Game 33.1 White's performance reached its peak during a 14-game stretch in March, where he averaged 29.1 points per game, ultimately earning Eastern Conference Player of the Month honors. Across 422 career games with Chicago, he has maintained averages of 15.2 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game. Ayo Dosunmu: Underrated But Reliable While Dosunmu's 2024–25 season didn't grab headlines like White's, his impact was consistent. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Providers are furious: Internet access without a subscription! Contract Status and Cap Situation Both White and Dosunmu are entering the final years of their contracts, earning $12.8 million and $7.5 million respectively. Their pending free agency adds urgency to the Bulls' decision-making, especially with limited room under the cap. Chicago Bulls' 2025–26 Financial Snapshot: Key Financials Amount Total Salary Commitments $153+ million Remaining Cap Space ~$1.5 million Major Expiring Contracts (2026) ~$95 million The expiring deals of Nikola Vucevic ($21.5M), Zach Collins ($18M), and Kevin Huerter ($18M) could clear the path for a near-total cap reset in 2026. This potential flexibility increases the likelihood that the front office will act now to align the roster with future goals. What's Next for the Chicago Bulls? While no trade is imminent, the groundwork for a backcourt shakeup is clearly in motion. Whether the Chicago Bulls decide to keep one guard, move both, or wait until the deadline, their long-term strategy is starting to emerge—cut costs now, assess young talent, and open the door to a major retooling next summer. As Brett Siegel noted, even amid uncertainty, there is persistent 'buzz that exists regarding one of these players being dealt this offseason.' NBA rumors: Bulls insider dumps cold water on Jonathan Kuminga possibility
The post NBA rumors: Bulls insider dumps cold water on Jonathan Kuminga possibility appeared first on ClutchPoints. As the Chicago Bulls have been in rumors for Jonathan Kuminga, there has been speculation on what a possible sign-and-trade would look like involving the Golden State Warriors. While the Bulls have been active with trades and free agency, a pursuit of Kuminga would be significant, but a team insider has temporarily shot down the talks going on. Advertisement The word 'temporarily' is used because K.C. Johnson of CHSN says that he has 'not heard any traction' on a potential deal that sends Kuminga to Chicago, though he mentions that he is not saying that 'it won't happen.' However, he has not heard any talks surrounding that rumor regarding the team's connection to the 22-year-old. 'One other thing I want to mention in the trade market, which will dovetail quickly into our next topic, free agency,' Johnson said. 'The Jonathan Kuminga rumors will not go away. I'm here to tell you that I have not heard any traction on a sign-and-trade deal to the Bulls. That's not to say it won't happen. I'm just saying that I have not heard it.' The CBA greatly impacts the Bulls going after Jonathan Kuminga Alonzo Adams-Imagn Images While there have been trade rumors around Bulls star Coby White, Johnson does hypothetically mention him in connection with a deal for Kuminga. Johnson would speak more about the current collective bargaining agreement (CBA) for the NBA and how a sign-and-trade for Kuminga would impact the team, and how Nikola Vucevic and White deal with it. Advertisement 'I want to bore you with a little CBA minutia here,' Johnson said. 'There's a thing called base year compensation. Sounds very boring, because it is what it means, if Jonathan Kuminga signs a large deal in a sign-and-trade with the Golden State Warriors, let's just say 25 million for a starting salary.' 'He counts for $25 million going out to the team that he's being traded to, and the Warriors can only take half that salary back in a trade, that would be 12.5 million, if my math is correct,' Johnson continued. 'So there goes the Vucevic contract does not fit in a base year compensation trade with Jonathan Kuminga. Coby White could fit, but I would be surprised that the Bulls trade Coby white for Jonathan Kuminga. So again, we'll see where this goes. But that's where things stand now.' At any rate, Chicago is looking to improve after finishing 39-43 record as they were eliminated from playoff contention by losing to the Miami Heat in the play-in tournament. Indiana Pacers Linked to 20.4PPG Scorer in NBA Trade Rumors
Indiana Pacers Linked to 20.4PPG Scorer in NBA Trade Rumors originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Even after losing Tyrese Haliburton to a torn Achilles, the Indiana Pacers could have competed, at least for a playoff spot, in the weak Eastern Conference. Advertisement Instead, they let Myles Turner walk in free agency and seem content and poised to take a massive step back from their Finals appearance. Expect the 2025-26 season to be full of Indiana taking stock of who is a good long-term fit, although they could make a series of moves to bolster their roster. Blake Flynn of The Wrightway Sports Network proposed a trade with another middling Eastern Conference team to land them an elite scorer. Full Mock Trade Details Pacers receive: Coby White Bulls receive: Aaron Nesmith, Ben Sheppard, 2027 first-round pick This trade certainly addresses scoring. Last season, White averaged 20.4 points and shot 37 percent from deep. A core lineup of Andrew Nembhard, White, Pascal Siakam, Bennedict Mathurin, and Tony Bradley is an improvement, although they still need to upgrade at center. Advertisement However, there is one massive flaw in this deal. White will be a free agent after this season is over, and the Pacers have already made it clear that they are not willing to shell out money to keep solid players in town, which is a shame. Of course, the Pacers could always trade Nembhard once Haliburton returns to make room on payroll for White, although the defense Nembhard brings can't be overlooked. All in all, this trade presents a short-term solution but ignores a sad truth: the Pacers are not interested in competing, especially if they have to pay for it. Bulls' Coby White posts cryptic IG Story amid trade rumors
The post Bulls' Coby White posts cryptic IG Story amid trade rumors appeared first on ClutchPoints. Coby White's future with the Chicago Bulls might be in question this offseason. White has risen up the ranks as one of the league's most promising talents. Since the team selected him with the seventh pick of the 2019 NBA Draft, the young guard has made a name for himself as he became the clear-cut first option of the Bulls. Advertisement However, his place with the team seems to be up in the air. He uploaded a story post on his Instagram page on Sunday, showing a photo of him interacting with Bulls fans after a game. He included text on the image, showing his humility as the offseason closes in. 'Thanking Him for everything till infinity,' White said. What's next for Coby White, Bulls Alonzo Adams-Imagn Images Coby White is preparing for the worst this offseason, even if he showed he deserves to remain with the Bulls. This past season saw White average 20.4 points, 4.5 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game after 74 appearances. He shot 45.3% from the field, including 37% from beyond the arc, and 90.2% from the free-throw line. Advertisement White has been in his element sinc the Bulls made the decision to break up their playoff core of Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Alex Caruso, and Lonzo Ball. While Nikola Vucevic remains on the team, his future is also up in the air as Chicago could fully commit to a rebuild. Despite the many changes to the roster, White has been reslient. He's gained chemistry with Vucevic, Josh Giddey, Ayo Dosunmu, and Patrick Williams among others as the Bulls continue to be in the playoff picture. However, Chicago hasn't been able to return to the playoffs after their cameo in 2022. They've fallen short in the play-in tournament for the last three editions. This past season saw them finish with a 39-43 record, losing to the Miami Heat during the 9-10 matchup. Related: NBA rumors: Could Bulls, Clippers be Celtics options for Anfernee Simons trade? Mizzou Guard Caleb Grill Signs with Chicago Bulls
Mizzou Guard Caleb Grill Signs with Chicago Bulls originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Former Missouri Tigers guard Caleb Grill has found a new home in the NBA. Although he didn't hear his name during the 2025 NBA Draft, the Mizzou standout was picked up by the Chicago Bulls shortly after, signing a two-way contract. Grill averaged career highs this season with 13.7 points per game and shooting 39.6% from the field. The Wichita, Kansas, native also averaged 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. Advertisement Grill, 25, started his collegiate career at Iowa State where he played in the 2019-20 season. He moved to UNLV for one season before returning to Iowa State for two more. After that, he kicked off his stint with the Tigers. Grill will compete under head coach Billy Donovan alongside Coby White, Josh Giddey and Matas Buzelis in Chicago. The Bulls are one of the highest-volume three-point shooting teams in the league, so Grill's sharpshooting abilities will fit in nicely. Missouri Tigers guard Caleb Grill (31) dunks in the second half of a first round men's NCAA Tournament Lee-Imagn Images Grill's most exceptional talent is his perimeter shooting. As a fearless shooter with seemingly limitless range, shooting from wherever on the court is enticing skill for a prospective NBA sharpshooter. Advertisement He shot a nearly 40% clip from the 3-point line this season, an almost four-percent difference from his prior career-best. Grill also put up 33-, 28- and 25-point games across the season, proving that he can take on the lead-scorer role. His concerns come on defense, though, where he has some work to do. Grill doesn't have the best hands, and he often struggles to stay with primary ball-handlers. However, he averaged 1.1 steals per game across his six-year career, so he's certainly capable of jumping into passing lanes and initiating fast breaks. Regardless, Grill has found a home in the league where he can develop and become a strong addition to his NBA team.
