The Coley Group Celebrates 25 Year Milestone of Real Estate Excellence in Raleigh
07/14/2025, Raleigh, North Carolina // PRODIGY: Feature Story // The Coley Group, a thriving firm in Raleigh since 2000, is proud to celebrate its 25th anniversary of making a significant splash in the city's real estate scene. Founded by the real estate veteran, Gretchen Coley, The Coley Group has experienced exponential growth, helping a multitude of locals and newcomers find their next home with unwavering service, innovation, and community connection. The company began as a solo operation, with Coley in new home sales. Today, with a strong team of over 30 professional staff and agents, The Coley Group, formerly known as Gretchen Coley Properties, has evolved into a powerhouse brand, synonymous with trust, expertise, and an unshakeable commitment to the people and the neighbors of Raleigh. Coley's journey in real estate was driven by her passion for storytelling, not just of homes but of entire communities. She worked closely with builders and developers early in her career, which enabled her to shape the narratives of master-planned neighborhoods. 'I loved giving the properties an identity of their own,' Coley says. 'Who was going to live there? What was the lifestyle going to look like for those living in the house? Crafting these narratives was how I was marketing the homes and selling them.' After a decade of success in that space, Coley transitioned into general brokerage in 2016, launching The Coley Group under her name and direction. What followed was an unprecedented growth in sales, producing staggering numbers over a year, along with a dynamic team of professionals who shared her vision. 'The growth we've seen goes beyond just numbers,' Coley shares. 'It's a testament to our clarity. It took time to define who we are and, just as importantly, who we're not. We've built a team of full-time advisors, not just agents. We're a team that lives and breathes this business, putting relationships above transactions.' That people-centric philosophy has remained central to The Coley Group's identity. Every client, regardless of price point, receives the same client-focused service, powered by an in-house marketing team, professional videographers, and dedicated agents. This promised consistency has positioned The Coley Group as a leader in real estate and a trusted household name in Raleigh. During the turbulence of COVID-19, while many scaled back, The Coley Group traversed through the uncertainty by doubling down. 'Many companies at the time stopped their marketing initiatives for listings; we continued to spend money where it would matter in the long run,' Coley states. The company invested in high-quality video marketing and storytelling, which accelerated its brand growth and laid the groundwork for new ventures. One of the most significant developments was The Best of Raleigh, a video and podcast series born out of a desire to support local businesses in crises. It has since grown into a standalone brand with over a million listens, spotlighting the people and places that make Raleigh exceptional. 'For The Coley Group, our services have transcended beyond just real estate properties. Now, it's about connection,' Coley explains. 'Our clients don't just need a house. They need to know who does their kids' braces, where to find the best party planner, and how to get involved in their community. The Best of Raleigh fills those gaps. It's our way of staying present and involved, even when our clients aren't in the market.' Looking ahead, The Coley Group is focused on deepening its roots in the Raleigh market. With the city population continuing to surge, with roughly 40 people moving to Raleigh every day, the team is focused on refining internal systems, enhancing workflows, and creating unforgettable customer experiences that will generate lifelong relationships. 'Our next phase is about legacy,' Coley shares. 'We envision becoming a full-scale mega team, playing in every facet of real estate, from development to design to lifestyle, while maintaining the personal relationships that got us here.' This strategy is already yielding exciting results. 'We've doubled our repeat and referral business just in the past year,' she adds. With a focus on community uplift and client-centricity, the team is committed to helping Raleigh thrive, whether by growing small businesses, supporting local families, or simply making newcomers feel at home faster. 'As real estate agents, we are natural connectors,' Coley says. 'We believe it's our duty to grow the city we love, to guide our clients towards lives they truly aspire to have, and build a brand that inspires.' As the Coley Group celebrates 25 years of remarkable growth and achievements, the company looks forward to its next chapter, promising even greater impact for clients, for the community, and for the city itself. KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 — Two Malaysian bars have been included in the 2025 edition of Asia's 50 Best Bars' extended 51-100 list: Coley in Kuala Lumpur comes in at No. 92, continuing its streak of being named on the list every year since debuting at No. 46 in 2018, while Backdoor Bodega in Penang returns at No. 64, after first making the list at No. 97 in 2022. A veteran of both the list and Malaysia's cocktail bar scene, Coley recently marked its 9th anniversary with a month-long celebration featuring numerous guest shifts. Founded by CK Kho, the bar is named in tribute to Ada 'Coley' Coleman, the Savoy's iconic inventor of the hanky panky, a classic cocktail made with gin, sweet vermouth and Fernet-Branca. In addition to riffs on classic cocktails, the small neighbourhood bar has become a Bangsar staple for its contemporary Malaysian creations and playful food programme. It gained wider renown after being named the best bar in Malaysia when it was ranked No. 27 on the 2019 list. Hayley Kiyoko Just Casted the Lead Roles for Her 'Girls Like Girls' Movie
It's been a decade (!!!) since Hayley Kiyoko's iconic 'Girls Like Girls' music video made waves and took over our social feeds in the form of Tumblr-era fan edits. Since then, the sapphic anthem has become a classic in the queer community and taken on a new life as the singer-songwriter developed the treatment into her debut novel of the same name. Now, the story is set to hit the big screen in her directorial debut with Focus Features. On June 24 (aka the 10th anniversary of the music video), Hayley dropped major news about the upcoming flick and revealed which young actors would take on the lead roles of Coley and Sonya with a sweet social media post. 'Today is the 10 year anniversary of the release of 'girls like girls' - the music video. What a journey it's been, and continues to be. I am beyond grateful to all of you who have been on this wild ride with me since the very beginning,' the 'Curious' singer wrote, in part. She continued, 'So here we are, a decade later, meeting the lead actors of our film for the first time. A film that up until now was just a crazy dream that has now come to life. 😭 Here are the moments when I finally got to share the exciting news with each of them. These girls' performances are going to blow you away. This is only the beginning…' Per Deadline, the upcoming movie 'tells the universal story of falling in love for the first time and learning to accept yourself along the way.' Girls Like Girls will star Maya da Costa (Under The Bridge) as Coley and Myra Molloy (He's All That) as Sonya. The original music video showcases a blossoming romance between two female best friends as one of them navigates a toxic relationship with a guy. It starred Stefanie Scott as Coley, Kelsey Chow as Sonya, and Hayden Thompson as Trenton. Hayley and Stefanie co-wrote the screenplay of the upcoming film, while Marc Platt Productions, Michael Philip, Jason Moring, and Richard Alan Reid are set to produce. Details on a release date are currently slim, but till then, we'll be reliving Hayley's classic video:

Meet Mac, the dog who can sniff out hidden cameras
This week, investigators in Cabarrus County uncovered evidence against a man accused of hiding devices and secret peeping on underage victims. One of those investigators was a five-year-old English Labrador who's specially trained to find secret items. 'We use Mac on most of our ICAT cases, which are Internet Crimes against Children,' Cabarrus County Sgt. Travis Coley said. This week, Mac helped find nearly 40 electronic devices hidden in a home, leading to dozens of charges against a Harrisburg man accused of distributing child sexual abuse material. RELATED >> Harrisburg man accused of spying on Airbnb guests and kids, sharing child sex abuse material 'That case kind of involved a lot of hidden devices. We found a set of glasses in the closet that had a hidden camera in it, something that would be kind of inconspicuous to everybody else,' Coley said. Coley is Mac's handler, and he says he's able to find devices even the best detective may miss. 'We know he works, we've seen it work, so it gives you the confidence that you didn't leave evidence behind,' Coley told Channel 9's Hannah Goetz. Mac can do it because he's trained to sniff out a specific chemical sprayed on electronic devices during manufacturing. 'It's called triphenylphosphate oxide, TPPO for short,' Coley said. We saw his nose at work in a training demonstration. Coley hid three small devices in a break room, and Mac found every single one. 'It's just like the coolest partner ever. He's always excited to come to work, he bounds around, runs round, greets everybody, because everybody's going to tell him he's a good boy, and he's the coolest thing in the world,' Coley said. Mac is one of only 150 police K-9s in the country with this skill. The man charged in the Harrisburg case, Christopher Brownstead, is accused of using a secret camera to spy on guests at his Airbnb bathroom, along with making child sex abuse material by spying on kids in parks and neighborhoods. Authorities said they expect more details to come out of this investigation. (VIDEO: 'Needs to be honored': Community calls for transparency after K-9's death in Wadesboro)
