Nick from Weather Alerts Ireland said the hot air is pushing up from the south.
He added: "Temperatures will rise as high as 28C or even a bit hotter possible over the weekend!
"It is also expected to remain mostly dry and lots of sun for this week especially from Wednesday onwards!"

But Cathal Nolan, meteorologist and founder of the Irish Weather Channel said weather models are subject to change closer to the date.
How to stay cool during hot weather
He warned: "It's always worth mentioning a word of caution when analysing weather models more than five days in advance, so changes are possible.
"But there's growing confidence that we are about to experience our hottest spell of weather since 2022, with some areas possibly experiencing heatwave conditions."
Speaking to RTE's Today with Claire Byrne, Nolan said: "Over the course of the next couple of days, we will see a gradual improvement in our conditions. We expect to see an area of high pressure initially situated to the southwest of the country.
"The Azores becoming that little bit more prevalent in our weather forecast over the course of the week, and with that, bringing plenty of dry and settled weather conditions.
"Temperatures are expected to be on the rise as well, especially from mid week.
"Certainly through until at least Friday, the weekend still has a little bit of uncertainty but temperatures on Thursday and Friday are expected to get up to 26C, 27C, possibly even 28C in some parts of the country."
Met Eireann pinpointed Friday as the hottest day of the week.
HOT & SUNNY WEEKEND
Looking towards the next few days, it said: " The Azores High will build this week with warm and settled weather to come. Becoming very warm or even hot from Thursday."
The Friday forecast added: "A very warm or hot Continental airmass looks likely to feed up across Ireland with sunny conditions occurring widely.
"Top temperatures of 22C to 28C generally in just light southerly breezes."
Looking towards the rest of the weekend, Met Eireann said there is some uncertainty but the potential for "widespread hot sunny weather" to return is there.
The balmy forecast comes after temperatures across Europe spiked over 40C.
But Nolan warned that although the Europe heatwave has eased, temperatures are still extremely high in the sunspots.
He said: "Across most of central Europe will have cooler conditions but still, in some parts of Spain and Portugal we have temperatures again into the high 30s at the moment.
"Across into parts of Italy and the southeastern Med and through much of Greece and Turkey there are still exceptionally hot conditions.
"One of the key figures I have seen over the past number of days is that the sea surface temperatures around the Balearic Island are up and around 30C. That's about 6C above average."
