Columbiana County voters see another sales tax renewal levy on the ballot
(WKBN) – Voters in Columbiana County had another sales tax levy on the ballot today. The sales tax was a renewal levy, but voters shot it down in November. Columbiana County officials believed that the wording on the ballot in November was confusing, so they decided to try it again. Should it fail again, county officials said they would be faced with some difficult decisions. One penny of every dollar spent in the county helps fund a $26 million budget, making the sales tax responsible for 54%, or roughly $14 million, of that $26 million total. The 1 percent renewal is for a period of five years. Polls close at 7:30 p.m. See the latest election results here. Jon Rudder contributed to this report. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
