Inaugural Snow Duathlon in Dubai Draws Strong Participation
The region's first-ever Snow Duathlon wrapped up with a strong turnout and high-energy performances at Ski Dubai, marking a major milestone for winter sports in the UAE.
Held in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council and CRANK Fitness, the inaugural event saw 209 athletes from 49 countries compete in sub-zero temperatures. Among them were 35 Emirati participants, highlighting growing local interest in unconventional endurance challenges.
Kalthoum Al Mazmi of the UAE took first place in the Women's Individual Category with a standout time of 30:73 minutes. In the Men's Individual Category, Syrian athlete Omran Shkair clocked in at 22:56 minutes to secure the top spot.
Czech competitor Michala Radomska led the Elite Women's Category with a finish time of 36:68 minutes, while Norway's Hallvard Borsheim won the Elite Men's division at 27:82 minutes.
In the Teams Category, Colombia's Comando Group dominated with an average finish of 19:63 minutes.
Building on this momentum, Ski Dubai will next host the 16th edition of the Ice Warrior Challenge this September, continuing its role as a hub for extreme sporting events in the region.
