Tumkur (Karnataka) [India], June 29 (ANI): Union Minister of State (MoS) for Jal Shakti and Railways V Somanna on Sunday tuned into the 'Mann Ki Baat' program by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and praised the Prime Minister's message for its continued inspiration and depth. 'His words continue to offer deep insights and motivation,' Somanna posted on X. The junior minister also attended the Pratibha Puraskar and Felicitation Ceremony, organised by the Tumakuru district Veerashaiva Lingayat Seva Samiti, to honour SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) and PUC (Pre-University Course) students who achieved outstanding academic results in the academic year 2024-25. Shivasiddeshwara Swamiji of Tumakuru Sri Siddaganga Mutt, Karada Veerabasava Swamiji, Head of Bellavi Sri Karadeshwara Mutt, former MP GH Basavaraj, MLA Jyothi Ganesh, community leaders, volunteers, and students were present on the occasion. He also inaugurated a service centre for a mobile vehicle delivering digital services in Karnataka's Tumkur, which is in collaboration with the Common Service Centres scheme, a part of the Digital India programme of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. He took part in the inauguration ceremony of the Boys' Hostel and the laying of the foundation stone for the Girls' Hostel and Commercial Building, organised by the Hindu Sadar Kshemaabhivruddhi Sangha (R) in Tumkur. Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the invaluable contributions of both Doctors and Chartered Accountants (CAs) while addressing the country during the 123rd edition of the monthly program Mann ki Baat and called attention to how both professions are such 'pillars of society,' with one being protectors of health and other being guides of economic life. Acknowledging their importance ahead of July 1, which marks both National Doctors' Day and Chartered Accountants' Day, the Prime Minister said, 'On July 1, the day after tomorrow, we honour two very important professions - Doctors and CAs. Both of them are pillars of society that make our lives better. Doctors are the protectors of our health, and CAs (Chartered Accountants) are the guides of economic life. My best wishes to all the Doctors and Chartered Accountants.' Notably, the Prime Minister also drew attention to the importance of protecting and preserving the environment, as the country celebrated World Environment Day earlier, just as one would their health. PM-KISAN scheme: Special registration camps will be held in Virudhunagar district till May 31
Special camps for registration of farmers under the PM-KISAN scheme is underway at the office of Joint Director (Agriculture) in Virudhunagar and offices of Assistant Director (Agriculture) in all blocks, India Post Payments Bank and Common Service Centres in Virudhunagar district. The special camps will be held till May 31. With the payment of the 20th instalment scheduled in June, all eligible farmers should register their land-related details, Aadhar-linked bank accounts and e-KYC should be corrected, Virudhunagar Collector V. P. Jeyaseelan said. He added that among the farmers who had got the 19th instalment of assistance under the scheme, 16,493 have not registered their land details. These farmers should register these details to get the 20th instalment of benefit. Farmers who have been left out of the scheme should register their land details in the PM-KISAN website and produce the identity number for registration under the scheme. To stop payment of benefits to the deceased farmers, their death certificate should be registered in the website. Besides, the legal heir of the deceased farmers can apply for the benefit by registering themselves, the statement added.
