Oakland police make arrest in fatal shooting of father

An Oakland man was fatally shot early Saturday after hosting a Fourth of July party for friends and neighbors, according to police and relatives. Officers responded around 12:30 a.m. to a shooting in the Longfellow neighborhood of North Oakland, where they located a person who had been shot on the 800 block of 41st Street, according to the Oakland Police Department. Medical personnel pronounced him dead. Police arrested an individual in connection with the homicide investigation on Sunday. The department declined to release the names of the suspect or victim. The homicide investigation is ongoing. A GoFundMe page identified the shooting victim as Tim Conover, a father of two who was engaged to be married and 'generously helped people in need.' 'His heart was full of love and gave to all he could. He would feed you, laugh with you and send you home with a happy heart,' organizers wrote. Fundraising organizers said that they are raising money for Conover's fiance and children.

Paige DeSorbo Finally Reveals Why Craig Conover Was Told To Leave Amanda Batula And Kyle Cooke's Wedding: 'He Acted Like An Entitled Brat'

Paige DeSorbo just revealed what actually went down at Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke's wedding that got her then-boyfriend Craig Conover kicked off the property. In the second and final part of the Summer House Season 9 reunion, DeSorbo finally confirmed the long-standing rumors that Conover was 'asked not to return to the backyard' of Batula's parents' house, where their 2021 wedding took place. 'The next morning I woke up and I was like, 'You have to apologize to Mr. and Mrs. Batula.' And he absolutely refused,' DeSorbo — who broke up with the Southern Charm star in November 2024 after three years of dating — told host Andy Cohen. 'I was mortified.' She continued, 'He was belligerently drunk. He was causing a scene. He was kicking tables. He was yelling at people. He was going inside the house,' ignoring the Batulas' request for their guests to stay outside. According to Batula, DeSorbo was the one who texted her parents to apologize for Conover's behavior the next day. 'He acted like an entitled brat at the wedding and he was an embarrassment,' DeSorbo added. The gossip surrounding the ordeal has been circulating in the rumor mill for years. DeSorbo previously accused Lindsay Hubbard of leaking the story to the blogs, though she later learned that it was actually Danielle Olivera. While Conover has admitted to drinking too much that night, he has also insisted that the rumors that he was kicked out of the wedding were 'made up.' 'It was a filmed event. I think if I was kicked out, we would've seen it on TV,' he told Us Weekly in a June 2024 interview. 'But, to be fair, I was asked to not come back in, in case I wanted to decide to come back in.' DeSorbo, for her part, shared whether there were other instances where she had to lie to protect her ex-boyfriend, who has since cut back on his drinking. 'Honestly, I'm so uncomfortable because I've never had to lie in my entire life until I started dating him and it was more like, I had to be like, 'Oh, he's not that drunk.' Or, 'Oh, we just wanted to go home early,'' she said at the reunion. 'It's little situations that he would put me in that I would have to defuse. It's uncomfortable and it gets very overwhelming and tiring.' Summer House Season 9 is currently streaming on Peacock.

Kristin Cavallari Confesses To A Giddy Andy Cohen She Was Romantic With Craig Conover For 'Two Seconds' But Quickly Ended Things: 'I Was Already In A Love Triangle In High School'

After years of speculation, Kristin Cavallari just confirmed her past romance with Southern Charm's Craig Conover. Appearing on Wednesday night's (June 4) episode of Watch What Happens Live, Cavallari was forced to open up about her previous relations with Conover — and whether they overlapped with his relationship with Summer House star Paige DeSorbo. 'Let's talk about it,' Cavallari began. 'So, Craig and I were friends first, became romantic for two seconds. The second I caught wind of Paige, I very politely excused myself from the situation.' According to Cavallari, her romance with Conover came to an end shortly after he began seeing DeSorbo. 'There was a picture of Craig and Paige in New York. I'll never forget it. And it looked like they were sort of together,' she said. 'That was the first time anyone had seen them. That was the first I had heard about it. I saw that picture and I texted him and said, 'Hey, let's just be friends. I don't want to get in the middle of this.'' The Laguna Beach alum joked, 'I was already in a love triangle in high school. I'm good for the rest of my life. I'm never gonna be in another one. That was it.' Cavallari reconnected with Conover for the first time since then on her Let's Be Honest podcast tour, which was documented in her new E! show Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour. Their reunion came months after DeSorbo ended her three-year relationship with Conover. 'That was the first time I had seen him since they got together,' Cavallari said. 'Him and Austen [Kroll] came out. I grilled him about some stuff, too, so I'm hesitant to say too much because it's all gonna be on my show. I asked him if he lied to me about Paige. I went there. It'll all be on the show.' The reality star said she would never consider dating Conover now that he's single, telling host Andy Cohen that she only loves him 'as a friend.' She also answered whether or not she thought something happened between Southern Charm star Madison LeCroy and her ex-husband Jay Cutler. 'Yes,' Cavallari confirmed. Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.

Paige DeSorbo Quits Bravo's ‘Summer House' After 7 Seasons (And One Major Break Up)

We'll always have Summer (House). Paige DeSorbo, who joined the hit Bravo series in its third season, revealed on her Instagram story on Thursday that she will not be returning to the show. 'Being part of this show has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my life – the friendships, the giggles, all unforgettable,' she wrote. 'You've seen me grow up over these last 7 summers. I'll always be beyond grateful for the memories, the community, and the opportunities this wild ride has taught me. But like all good things (and some bad decisions), it's time for this chapter to close.' DeSorbo also thanked her co-stars, fans, and her 'NBCU family,' the company behind Bravo. 'I never could've imagined what this journey would turn into – and how many of you would be along for the ride. And you haven't seen the last of me, I promise. So much more to do together, but for now you know you can always find me and Daphne in my bed,' she concluded, referring to her sleepwear brand that is launching on June 10. The past year was eventful for DeSorbo, who announced her break up with Southern Charm star Craig Conover in late 2024 on her and Hannah Berner's Giggly Squad podcast after three years together. Their buzzy breakup had co-stars of theirs taking sides, or as Summer House's Carl Radke told DECIDER in February, is like siding with your 'quarterback.' 'It feels like leading up to a championship game or something, where both teams in the locker room are saying stuff,' he explained at the time. 'Of course, everybody's going to protect their quarterback or their head coach and Paige is like our quarterback, our head coach. And of course, we're going to have her back, always.' DeSorbo's Thursday morning announcement arrives on the heels of Part 2 of the Summer House Season 9 reunion, during which she confirmed that Conover was 'belligerently drunk' at Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke's wedding and was 'asked not to return' to Batulas' parents' backyard, where the wedding was held. After DeSorbo shared the news of her Summer House exit, Batula shared a selfie with her on her Instagram story with a heart emoji. Wednesday night's (June 4) episode of Watch What Happens Live also saw Kristin Cavallari admit that she and Conover previously 'became romantic for two seconds,' though she 'very politely excused' herself after learning of his relationship with DeSorbo. Summer House Season 9 and both parts of the Summer House Season 9 reunion are streaming on Peacock.
