Two fraudsters sought for trying to scam homeowner in east end
The hunt is on for two fraudsters who tried to scam a homeowner into paying for 'work' they weren't hired to do last week in the city's east end.
Toronto Police say officers responded to a call for fraud and mischief in the area of Danforth and Kelvin Aves. – just east of Dawes Rd. – around 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
Two men 'approached a homeowner advising 'work' needed to be done on their home,' Const. Ashley Visser said in a statement released Saturday.
She said the men then 'proceeded to start working without the homeowner's permission.'
'The homeowner confronted the suspects, and they demanded money for their work,' Visser said, explaining the homeowner told the men 'they were going to call police.'

The fraudsters then fled the area in a black pickup truck with a stripe down the side.
One man is described as white, 25-30 years old, about 5-foot-10, with a medium build, strawberry-blonde hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a baseball hat, brown shorts and construction boots.
The second man is described as white, 25-30 years old, about 5-foot-10, and he was wearing a baseball hat.
Investigators have released an image of the suspect vehicle hoping someone recognizes it.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of either suspect, or the whereabouts of the suspect vehicle is urged to call police at 416-808-5500 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
