Edmonton police release enhanced photo of dead woman in hopes of identifying her
Police have released a digitally enhanced photo of a woman found dead in northwest Edmonton last June in hopes that it will reach a member of the public who can identify her.
The Edmonton Police Service said in a Tuesday news release that officers responded on June 9 to a report of a woman lying dead near 121 Avenue and 157 Street. The cause of death is currently not considered suspicious, police said.
The EPS missing persons unit has 'exhausted traditional investigative methods' but hasn't been able to identify the woman. They are turning to the public for help, and have released a photo of the woman that's been enhanced by the digital forensics section.
'It's the hope of the missing persons unit that this image enhancement will help us identify this woman so we can bring a matter of resolution to her friends or family,' said Const. Josh Filion with the EPS missing persons unit in the release.
The woman is described as being between 30 and 40 years old, standing five feet, 11 inches tall and weighing about 213 pounds.
When police found her body, she was wearing black flared capri leggings and a yellow tank top underneath a purple hooded sweater. She has hazel eyes and light brown hair.
Police ask anyone with information about the woman's identity contact EPS at 780-423-4567.
