Released WWE star ‘hopeful' they can orchestrate AJ Lee return
The post Released WWE star 'hopeful' they can orchestrate AJ Lee return appeared first on ClutchPoints. Fans have been waiting years for the WWE return of AJ Lee, and the recently released Cora Jade thinks she may be able to make it happen. Advertisement Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Jade stated she believes she or former NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez could get Lee out of retirement. 'It has to be one of us,' Jade quipped. 'I know if I can't, Roxanne can. Between one of us, I think we can do it,' Jade said. 'Whether it's her or me, I don't know which one it's going to be, but remember that it's going to be one of us. To clarify, Jade is 'making a hopeful prediction.' Nothing is guaranteed, and Lee may never lace up her boots again. We will have to wait and see if it happens. Cora Jade was recently released by WWE after over four years with them. During her career, she was a one-time NXT Women's Tag Team Champion with Roxanne Perez. Advertisement Since being released, Jade has reverted back to her Elayna Black ring name. She is currently competing on the independent circuit. Will AJ Lee return to WWE? Currently, it does not appear Lee is going to come back to WWE anytime soon. The closest she has come to an in-ring return was filming wrestling scenes for Heels. She has ventured into other mediums since her retirement. Lee was featured in Sacramento, a new movie starring Michael Cera and Kristen Stewart. However, nothing is impossible. Her husband, CM Punk, did the unthinkable in 2023 and returned to WWE. He was away from the company and wrestling altogether for several years after his initial leave. Advertisement In between his WWE tenures, Punk tried his hand at UFC and also joined their biggest competitor, AEW. Punk was with AEW from 2021-23 before returning to WWE. So, never say never. However, with every passing year, it becomes increasingly unlikely she will ever return to the ring. Hopefully, Jade or Perez make it happen. Elayna Black (Cora Jade) Reveals She Nearly Died Due To An Ectopic Pregnancy
Former WWE NXT star Elayna Black, known as Cora Jade, nearly lost her life in 2023 due to an ectopic pregnancy. Jade was off WWE NXT TV between January and April 2023. In an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, she revealed that her absence resulted from a serious medical emergency. 'In January of 2023 it was like the very late January, I was supposed to wrestle Lyra Valkyria on TV on Tuesday, and long story short. I'll spare you the details long story short, I ended up in emergency surgery in the hospital the night before. Literally almost dying and bleeding out. Because I had had an ectopic pregnancy that had failed and it exploded and, like, made me internally bleed.' Black says she was rushed into emergency surgery so she didn't bleed out. She noted that she was worried about making it to her match the next day. In hindsight, she is thankful she went to the hospital. After an 11-hour wait, doctors realized she needed immediate surgery. 'So what had happened was, I had, I don't know if you're familiar with the IUD birth control. It's inserted in you, it's like a 99.9% success rate. But they warn you beforehand, 'cause it's like a 5-year thing, so you're, like, protected for 5 years. But they warn you of ectopic pregnancies beforehand. Which, if you're not, or anyone else isn't familiar, it's where, like, the egg is implanted outside of the uterus, in the fallopian tube and that causes the fallopian tube to explode.' 'Obviously, you internally bleed, and it's very, extremely life-threatening obviously to the baby or whatever it was, but to the woman. So I was always scared of that in general, 'cause I have health anxiety anyway. So I was always worried about that so I kind of again, my intuition, I was like, this I know what's happening. Like, I got to go.' 'So we did that, had the emergency surgery. They ended up having to remove my left fallopian tube because it was that bad. And then I was just, I was just bummed about missing Stand & Deliver. Like, I was like, I can't miss like, I cannot miss Stand & Deliver. But then, like, after that, I felt like I guess nothing has ever happened like that to me before. I never realized, like, the effects of it and stuff like that. So, like, after I came back, like, those few months, I was just the most mentally depressed I have ever been in my entire life.' Tired of too many ads? go ad free now A month after her release, The Generation of Jade decided to share a haunting experience from her tenure in the global juggernaut. Cora Jade reveals she was body-shamed in WWE In an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Cora Jade opened up about being body shamed when she came into WWE at 19 years old. Being small in her physical stature, multiple people would make comments about her. One of them even said that Jade would never become a champion in the company for being too small. The former NXT Women's Tag Team Champion also stated that it created a lot of body image issues for her. However, she fought back against all odds and went on to gain more muscle and have a better shape than before. Cora said, 'I definitely think things could've went differently if it weren't for certain things like the bodyshaming thing, I came in at 19 years old, I was like 110 pounds, I was so small. It was constant comments, whether it was from guys who think they were being funny, or, I'm not gonna name names again, but I remember specifically being told that I wasn't and wouldn't be champion in that company because I looked like I couldn't crack an egg — Multiple conversations about my body, which I don't think anyone, especially as another man, should be saying that to a female, I was so young and it created a lot of issues for me body wise. But obviously I gained so much muscle after that, I worked my ass off.' Cora Jade is set to become a free agent in a few days after her non-compete clause ends. She has also reverted to her former name, Elayna Black, and is scheduled for multiple wrestling appearances with a representation in place, too. As she is set to begin her journey outside WWE, it will be interesting to see if she can climb the heights of success that she did not back in WWE NXT. Also read:
