Rachel has become the acting head of the Counter Terrorism Command (SO15), amid an inquiry into the unlawful use of Correction – the UK intelligence service's clandestine video manipulation programme which she exposed in series two. She is determined to regain the public's trust in surveillance technology when a well co-ordinated act of terror that affects the British establishment leaves behind just one witness. The more Carey investigates, the deeper she is drawn into an unfolding geopolitical crisis that infects the British political establishment, the security services, and the media. Grainger, 37, said: 'I'm thrilled to be joining The Capture team once more for series three. 'Ben Chanan's scripts are as electrifying as ever and I'm excited to be stepping back into 'Commander' Rachel Carey's world. (Spoiler alert!)' Black Doves star Andrew will star alongside Game Of Thrones actor Joe Dempsie, Kaos actor Killian Scott, Gangs Of London actress Amanda Drew, and Highlander's Hugh Quarshie. Returning cast members include Indira Varma as BBC Newsnight presenter Khadija Khan, Ben Miles as Danny Hart, and Nigel Lindsay as DSI Tom Kendricks. Chanan said: 'Previous seasons have seen Holliday's Rachel Carey investigate others as their lives fall apart. Most of all, I am excited that Series 3 puts Carey at the heart of the conspiracy.' Lindsay Salt, director of BBC Drama, said: 'The Capture's irresistible blend of timely, state-of-the-nation commentary with edge-of-your-seat thrills has made it a big hit with millions of viewers, and we're so pleased to announce its return to the BBC. 'Ben's scripts for series three will dazzle and terrify you in equal measure.' The first series followed a former British soldier trying to clear his name of a crime he claimed he did not commit. While investigating the case, DI Carey uncovered a wider complex conspiracy. In series two Grainger's character broadcast a live deepfake of a government minister to the nation, exposing the UK intelligence service's clandestine video manipulation programme Correction. The Capture is produced by Heyday Television for BBC iPlayer and BBC One. Filming is taking place in the south east of England.

Richmond star Noah Balta breaks his silence after sentencing for assault

Richmond's Noah Balta has broken his silence, speaking publicly for the first time since he avoided jail time for assault on Tuesday. The star Tiger has been hit with a three-month curfew that rules him out from playing in several upcoming night-time games. Balta pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm after it was alleged he assaulted a man who 'had his back turned' during an altercation that unfolded outside a pub in the rural NSW town of Mulwala. The AFL star was facing potential jail time with the maximum penalty of five years' imprisonment for such an assault. After serving a club-imposed four-game suspension, and playing a reserves match last week, Balta controversially returned to the senior line-up for the first time on Saturday night and played a starring role by keeping red-hot Suns forward Ben King to one goal. On Tuesday, he was fined $3000 and slapped with an 18-month Community Correction Order (CCO) with a 10pm to 6am curfew and a conviction recorded. He has now spoken on video about the incident, which was posted to Richmond's official website. 'I just want to take this opportunity to apologise to the victim and the family,' Balta said. 'Also (for) the harm I've caused to my family and friends, the whole of the Richmond Football Club and the Tiger Army. 'Violence is never the answer. 'I was under the influence and made a judgment call which was stupid of myself.' The punishment will have a serious impact on Balta's footballing career, with the 25-year-old now set to be stood down from several matches because of the curfew. Richmond plays Melbourne in the annual Anzac Day Eve clash on Thursday night, with the first bounce at 7.30pm AEST. He has not been selected for the game. The Tigers also play Essendon in the Dreamtime at the 'G match from 7.40pm, while they also have a scheduled twilight clash with GWS in Sydney starting at 4.15pm. Balta's curfew expires on July 22. The 194cm defender said he has stopped drinking in an effort to improve his ways. '(I'm) definitely just working on myself, things to control, what I can control, really,' he continued. 'I've stopped drinking and this is going to go for another 18 months (and has been going) for the last three months. 'And try and get myself better, become better off-field to help myself. 'While I'm here, I want to take the time to thank my family and friends for always being there supporting me, the club and also the Tiger Army.' Richmond coach Adem Yze also addressed the media on Wednesday in a sometimes testy press conference. Yze confirmed a 'flat' and 'emotional' Balta won't play at any level this week as he comes to terms with his assault charge sentence. 'It was obviously a tough day. He's really remorseful, he accepted the decision,' Yze said. 'Now it's about getting him amongst the group and getting an opportunity to repay the faith we've shown in him.' Yze continued to be peppered with questions about Balta, but said he was keen to move on. 'To be fair, that's about six questions I've answered about Noah,' Yze said. 'Our job right now, he's been sanctioned, we're going to support him from now moving forward, and we've got a massive game against Melbourne. No more questions. Any questions about the game?' The Tigers' communications department then intervened and stepped in to stop questions. 'We've spoken about it, we're moving on,' Tigers media manager Nicky Malady said.

Richmond defender Noah Balta hit where it hurts in bizarre court sentencing

Richmond defender Noah Balta has avoided jail time over an assault outside a club - but has been hit with a three-month curfew that rules him out from playing in several upcoming night-time games. Balta fronted Albury Local Court on Tuesday after pleading guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm following his trial at Corowa Local Court in January. The incident in question occurred in December in the rural New South Wales town of Mulwala. It was alleged he assaulted a man who 'had his back turned' during an altercation that unfolded outside a pub. The AFL star was facing potential jail time with the maximum penalty five years imprisonment for such an assault. After serving a club-imposed four-game suspension, and playing a reserves match last week, Balta controversially returned to the senior line-up for the first time on Saturday night, and played a starring role by keeping red-hot forward Ben King to one goal. However, on Tuesday he was fined $3000 and slapped with an 18-month Community Correction Order (CCO) with a 10pm to 6am curfew and a conviction recorded. The punishment has a serious impact on Balta's footballing career with the 25-year-old now set to be stood down from several matches because of the curfew imposed, which means he is not allowed to leave his home from 10pm to 6am. The curfew is for three months. Richmond plays Melbourne in their annual Anzac Day Eve clash on Thursday night, with first bounce at 7.30pm. The Tigers also play Essendon in Dreamtime at the 'G from 7.40pm, while they also have a scheduled twilight clash with GWS in Sydney starting at 4.15pm. According to The Herald Sun, the court heard Balta had paid $45,000 in compensation to the victim. According to reports, Balta's legal representatives attempted to push back against the curfew imposed, but the magistrate maintained the sentence. It comes just days after Balta was booed by fans as he ran onto the field during his team's upset win over the Gold Coast Suns at Marvel Stadium. Gold Coast coach Damien Hardwick, who previously coached the Tigers, launched a strong defence of Balta and took a bizarre swipe at Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan over public comments she had made about the footballer. Allan had condemned the AFL's decision to let Balta return to the field with the court case yet to be completed. Richmond coach Adem Yze said on Saturday night the club will 'look after' Balta this week. Hardwick, meanwhile, Hardwick didn't divulge whether he or his club had an issue with Balta playing, but he did take aim at Allan. 'We've got a premier who put her nose in someone else's business,' Hardwick said. 'She should just concentrate on getting the state running well. Absolute mockery her making comments with regard to that.' In his time at Richmond, Hardwick coached Balta for six seasons and said he 'of course' reached out to the premiership backman following the incident, and said Balta was receptive to his words. 'He's pled guilty, he understands that. He's going to cop his fair whack,' Hardwick said. 'Speaking to him, disappointed in his actions, support the individual, he'll get better as a result of it.'

Two red, one yellow placard posted in Champaign Co. after health inspections

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Two restaurants in Champaign County received red placards and one received a yellow placard after health inspections in the past seven days. LAST WEEK: Red, yellow placards given to Champaign restaurants after health inspections Savoy Place, located at 404 W Curtis Rd. in Savoy received a yellow placard following a heath inspection on April 14. During the restaurants last health inspection, the inspector issued a Violation Correction Form for a malfunctioning cooler and the installation of a water mixer. Savoy Place did not fulfill the requirements by the due date, however, so a yellow placard was posted. Now, if the correction form's requirements are not completed by April 25, the health permit will be suspended, and the restaurant will receive a red placard. Champaign Co. Sheriff's deputy accused of misusing funds from police support nonprofit Chicago Grill (Mobile) at the Harris Avenue Commissary is located at 1205 N. Harris Ave. in Champaign. On April 14, the business received a red placard following a health inspection. The inspector found three risk factor/intervention violations. At the end of the inspection, the inspector noted 'heavy wastewater leakage' coming from the drainpipes under the mobile. The business was given a violation correction form and asked to return proof that the drainpipes had been repaired by April 28. Because of this, the health permit was suspended, and a red placard was posted. Other issues noted during the inspection included an employee picking up a glove from the floor and putting on a new pair of gloves without washing hands, and shredded mozzarella cheese that was found held past the seven-day use period. The very next day however, Chicago Grill was reinspected and received a green placard. According to the inspector's report, the person in charge said the pipe to the wastewater tank was detached, which led to the leakage. The person in charge got the plumbing work done and reattached the drain line properly. As of April 15, the red placard was removed and replaced with a green placard. 14-year-old arrested by Urbana Police for drug possession on school property Los Hidalguenses (Mobile) is located at 310 Tiffany Ct. in Champaign. On April 16, the business received a red placard following a health inspection. The inspector noted that at the end of the inspection, there was no water left in the freshwater tank of the mobile. The person in charge told the inspector that they had filled the tank 48 hours before. Because of the lack of water, a red closure placard was posted. To reopen, the restaurant was required to return proof of hot and cold water on the mobile and to contact the health district and verify that the corrections had been made. Other issues noted included portions of red and green salsa held above 41°F. This was the second time this inspection violation was noted. The next day, Los Hidalguenses (Mobile) was reinspected and received a green placard. The person in charge told the health district that the freshwater tank was completely refilled. The handwashing sink had running hot and cold water with enough pressure. As of April 17, the red placard was removed and replaced with a green placard.
