Brit friends who drowned at Portugal hotel pictured as parents face 'nightmare'
The two British tourists who died after reportedly jumping into a pool while on holiday in Portugal have been pictured for the first time. Friends Mo and King were found at the bottom of a hotel swimming pool in Albufeira, Portugal and pronounced dead at the scene on Tuesday. Emergency services had been called at around 4am and attempted resuscitation, but both men were pronounced dead at the scene. Police said there is no suspicion of foul play. According to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã, both men appeared to have been drinking and did not know how to swim. "Their families are now facing every parent's worst nightmare," friends of the tragic pair said in paying tribute.

Two Brits die after jumping into hotel pool in Portugal 'after night out'
Two British men are believed to have drowned after they were found dead in a hotel pool in Portugal. The victims, aged 27 and 29, were found by a friend at the bottom of a swimming pool at the Duas Palmeiras hotel in Albufeira in the early hours of Tuesday morning. According to local tabloid Correio da Manhã, both appeared to be intoxicated and did not know how to swim. Emergency services were called at around 4am and attempted to revive the pair, but both men were declared dead at the scene. Preliminary investigations by Portuguese military police suggest there is no suspicion of foul play in the deaths. Another British tourist was found dead in the party town on June 4 the same day the body of a missing Scottish man was discovered. The tourist, a man in his early twenties, is believed to have died following a 'drunk' fall down steps in the Algarve resort town, reported Correio da Manha . On the same day, the body of missing Scottish tourist Greg Monks was found in a ravine in the Cerro de Aguia area. The 38-year-old Glaswegian went missing on 28 May after travelling to Albufeira with his friends for a five-day stag do. Mr Monks was last seen at 3.27am near the Cerro de Aguia area, more than an hour's walk from the Albufeira Strip, where he is believed to have left his friends. His sisters described Mr Monks as an 'amazing boy' who would 'be missed every day'. The tot vanished on holiday in Portugal on May 3, 2007. According to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã, Portuguese authorities demanded action after receiving a chilling tip-off from a British woman who believed her own brother and his German wife may be hiding the truth about Madeleine's disappearance, reports the Mirror. Investigators in Portugal asked German officials for permission to deploy an undercover officer with a fake identity to get close to the wife - suspected of being behind the wheel of the car that allegedly struck Madeleine, but German authorities reportedly shut the request down. The newspaper said the British sister of the unnamed man at the centre of the new theory tipped off police in the UK in 2018. 'German prosecutors were asked to authorise a covert police operation with someone posing as a friend of the woman's and trying to get her to confess, but the courts refused,' it added. 'It was decided to continue solely with the investigation into suspect Christian Brueckner, rejecting other possibilities.' Describing the mystery couple as 'alcoholics' and placing the British man's wife in a café near the Ocean Club where she had been 'drinking' the night Madeleine went missing from the Algarve resort. Correio da Manha also reported another witness described as the couple's neighbour told police separately she heard the couple rowing the day after the three-year-old disappeared. She said she heard the man repeatedly yelling: 'Why did you bring her?' Portuguese police claim they were shut down by the Germans after urging them to look more closely into the possibility the woman had driven home 'drunk' with Madeleine after hitting her.
