Poco F7 review

Poco has officially lifted the curtain on the new Poco F7, and it arrives as a strong contender in the value flagship space, exactly where it's meant to be. As the successor to the much-loved F6, the F7 continues to define Poco's playbook: deliver blistering performance and sleek design without commanding a flagship price. Over the years, the F-series has become synonymous with remarkable performance-for-price-remember the trailblazing Poco F1 in 2018? That kick-started the legend, and models like the F3 and F5 built on that legacy with Top-tier chipsets, high-refresh-rate OLED screens, and cameras that punch above their weight. The F7 picks up that baton, slotting just above the X-series while undercutting premium killers in Xiaomi's own roster-and it does so with a confidence that's become Poco's hallmark. With the Poco F7, you get a Snapdragon 8-series processor (the S variant, but still technically a flagship chip), a vibrant 120 Hz AMOLED display, and a dual-camera setup promising everyday excellence. All of this comes wrapped in a polished design and backed by fast charging, all starting at a street price that makes you wonder how Poco still does it. In short, it's everything we expected from a new F-series phone, and then some. Honestly, there are very few obvious omissions from the Poco F7 specs sheet: the display is excellent on paper, the chipset is potent, the stereo speaker setup seems solid, connectivity appears superb. You also get IP68 ingress protection and a 6,500 mAh battery in our international unit (even more on the Indian model), plus fast 90W charging. Unboxing Living up to expectations all starts with the retail package. The Poco F7 ships in a solid two-piece cardboard box - black with bold yellow lettering, in keeping with the brand identity. The box is solid and protects the phone well. A cardboard cradle on the inside keeps the phone in place. We found no plastic other than a small baggy for the phone, which is pretty good environment-wise. Now for the impressive bit - the accessory package. In keeping with tradition, Poco includes a charger in the box. In this case, it is a 90W Xiaomi unit with a USB Type-A port. It is accompanied by a proprietary USB Type-A to Type-C cable with an extra pin on the inside. You need to keep track of both bots to properly use fast charging on your device. The proprietary bit is admittedly a bit annoying, but we get that sticking to this older tech is still much cheaper. Moves like that allow Poco to also throw in a nice TPU case in the retail box, so you can start using your new phone immediately. Page 2

Nothing confirms Phone 3 processor, launch set for July 1 in India and globally

As we head to the Nothing Phone 3 launch on July 1, details of the device have started trickling in. Today, Nothing is revealing that the Phone 3 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. Now, this news will come as a surprise to some. This is because among the people who track such stuff there was an impression that the Nothing Phone 3 would be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, largely because in its next phone Nothing is promising to go all-in as far as the flagship hardware is concerned. Well, as far as the chipset is concerned, Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 it is for the Nothing Phone 3. advertisementSo, what does it bring, this chipset? Here's a quick look at what you can expect from the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 inside the Phone 3: you have an 8-core CPU with one Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.2GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores at 3GHz, two Cortex-A720 cores at 2.8GHz, and two Cortex-A720 cores at 2GHz. In other words, it has all big cores and so, one can expect better multi-core performance over last year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, though it remains to be seen by how much. While it is possible that a Snapdragon 8 Elite or even last year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 could have a more befitting chipset for a phone that Nothing is hoping to pitch as truly top-end flagship devices, we will have to see as a package what the device offers. It is expected that the Nothing Phone 3 would compete with the likes of the Galaxy S25, OnePlus 13 and the iPhone 16. On that note, its chipset may come across as one tier below the top chipsets. advertisement Having said that, it is possible Nothing is taking an approach similar to Google Pixel 9 series phones. They are also flagship and top-tier phones despite their chipset being based on slightly older Samsung Exynos tech. However, despite their chipset, the Pixel 9 phones offer the kind of experience that makes them true Android flagships. Compared to that, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 will surely have much more oomph. Just like the previous Nothing phones, this time around too, we expect the Nothing Phone 3 to come with its signature industrial design with transparent back, or at least a patterned and chiselled back. One big change that is expected in terms of design is that the signature Glyph Lights are no longer going to be there. Instead of that, we are expecting the Nothing Phone 3 to carry either dot matrix display on the back or use some other innovative method to provide functionality that the Glyph lights do in the current Nothing phones. The Nothing Phone 3, as noted earlier, is going to launch on July 1 in London. At the same event, Nothing is also hoping to launch its first over-the-ears Headphones 1, which is expected to compete with the likes of Sony and Bose. The possible price of the Nothing 3 is difficult to guess at the moment, but given its chipset and the way Nothing has so far talked about it — 'true flagship' as they say — it is safe to assume that it could be priced somewhere between Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000.

Poco F7 India launch soon: Expected price, specs

Poco is preparing to launch a new smartphone in India under its popular F-series, and this time it looks like battery life will be one of its biggest highlights. The upcoming Poco F7 has been spotted on Flipkart, confirming some key details ahead of the official launch. While the company has not yet shared the exact launch date, the teaser confirms that the Poco F7 will arrive with a massive 7,550mAh battery, likely the largest battery ever seen on a smartphone in India so far. Here is everything we know so F7: Full specs (leaked)According to Flipkart's listing, the Poco F7 is set to offer a battery that could last more than two days on a single charge under moderate use. To be specific, Poco claims up to 2.18 days of use from a full charge, thanks to the silicon-carbon (Si/C) battery technology used in the device. For those who often worry about battery backup, this could be a major selling point. The device will also support 90W fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging, meaning users can use it to charge other devices too, like a power Poco F7's battery is even larger than the ones inside the iQOO Z10 and Vivo T4, which currently lead the battery size race with 7,300mAh units. That makes the Poco F7 the biggest battery phone in the country if it arrives before any rival launches something With such a large battery, there are obvious concerns about size and weight. Poco has not shared any official design details yet, but it will be interesting to see how the brand manages the thickness and overall comfort of the device without making it too for performance, the Poco F7 could be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. A Geekbench listing suggested that the phone will feature this new chipset along with 12GB of RAM on at least one of the variants. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is built for high performance, and early benchmarks suggest it could offer performance closer to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. For your reference, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has a more balanced core setup with 1 Cortex-X4, 5 Cortex-A720, and 2 Cortex-A520 cores, making it superior for both efficiency and performance, while the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 uses 1 Cortex-X4 and 7 Cortex-A720 cores without any efficiency cores, offering stronger multi-core performance but less power efficiency. In the Rs 30,000 range, the Poco F7 with 8s Gen 4 will likely give a strong performance to users. But, it is important to note that these specs are not officially confirmed by the brand, so it is better to take the leaks a little lightly. advertisementMany reports hint that the Poco F7 could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, which was recently launched in China. If that is true, we can expect the Poco F7 to feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone may also come with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and include up to 16GB RAM and 1TB internal the camera front, the F7 is expected to offer a triple camera setup on the back, including a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies, a 20MP front camera is likely to be included. Poco F7: Expected price in IndiaTalking about price, Poco has been consistent with its aggressive pricing strategy. The Poco F6 and F5 were both launched in India at Rs 29,999, and the F4 before them started at Rs 27,999. Given the strong competition in the sub-Rs 30,000 category from brands like OnePlus and iQOO, Poco is likely to keep the price of the F7 around the same range. Even if there is a price bump, it's expected to be a small one.

MediaTek announces Dimensity 9400e chipset for flagship devices

MediaTek has announced the Dimensity 9400e, a new chipset in the company's flagship Dimensity family. The 9400e sits below the 9400 and the 9400+ models, and is essentially a rebranded 9300+ from last year with minor changes. The Dimensity 9400e has the company's All Big Core design, which includes 1x 3.4GHz Cortex-X4, 3x 2.85GHz Cortex-X4, and 4x 2.0GHz Cortex-A720 CPU cores, same as the 9300+. There's also 8MB L3 cache and 10MB SLC. The chip supports up to 8533MHz LPDDR5X memory, which is a drop from the 9600MHz supported by the 9300+. There's also UFS 4 + MCQ storage support. The 9400e also uses the same 12-core Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU as the 9300+ with hardware accelerated ray-tracing support. Most of the media and connectivity features remain the same between the two chips. However, the 9400e does have faster 7.3Gbps Wi-Fi peak data rate compared to 6.5Gbps on the 9300+. There's also faster Bluetooth 6.0 with dual Bluetooth engine, and MediaTek claims it has a connection range of up to 5km within line of sight. The 9400e also supports the latest MediaTek NeuroPilot SDK, enabling modern AI technologies, including support for Multi-Modality (LMM), Large Vision Models (LVM), and additional Language Models (SLM/LLM) from the global AI ecosystem. On the gaming front, the 9400e supports MediaTek HyperEngine and MediaTek Adaptive Gaming Technology as the 9300+ for improved performance and lower power consumption, but also adds MediaTek Frame Rate Converter, which claims to reduce power consumption by 40% when enabled without specifying how. You can expect to see this chip relatively soon. Sister brands OnePlus and Realme have both announced support for the chipset, with OnePlus including the chip in its upcoming OnePlus Ace5 Racing Edition for China and Realme featuring it in its Realme GT 7 smartphone. Both devices are expected to launch this month.
