This $400 budget gaming phone runs the same chip as the Nothing Phone 3
Hadlee Simons / Android Authority TL;DR POCO has launched the POCO F7 globally today. The new phone offers a powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and a 6,500mAh or 7,550mAh battery, depending on the region. Expect to pay a starting price of $399 or £389 for the POCO F7. The POCO F5 and POCO F6 were two of the best gaming phones on a budget as they offered powerful chips for the price. Now, the Xiaomi sub-brand is back with the POCO F7. The POCO F7 continues the trend of offering great performance for your buck, as it uses the brand-new Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. This chipset offers an impressive CPU (1x Cortex-X4, 7x Cortex-A720) with no little cores. The chip also uses an Adreno GPU based on the Snapdragon 8 Elite's sliced architecture, albeit with two slices instead of the high-end chip's three slices. This processor theoretically means that the POCO F7 could offer performance that's roughly on par with last year's flagship phones. However, our own POCO F7 benchmark article reveals a sizable gap to Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phones when it comes to peak CPU and GPU performance, but sustained performance is another matter altogether. In any event, I tried a few demanding games like Genshin Impact, GRID Legends, and War Thunder Mobile, and they all ran smoothly in extended play sessions. I also had enough headroom to turn up the graphics in GRID and War Thunder, and the device didn't get hot, either. So you should definitely keep this phone in mind if you're a mobile gamer on a budget. POCO's phone also has an impressively large 6,500mAh battery to keep the lights on. This means you should be able to game for a while compared to other handsets. This is a downgrade compared to the Chinese model (Redmi Turbo 4 Pro), which features a ridiculously large 7,550mAh battery, but a 6,500mAh battery is still plenty large in 2025. I'm also glad to see 90W wired charging here, with POCO claiming an 80% charge in 30 minutes. I reached the 80% mark in a slightly slower but still great 33 minutes. In fact, it only took 45 minutes for a 100% charge. Very impressive for a 6,500mAh battery. Hadlee Simons / Android Authority The POCO F7 isn't a photography champion by any measure. Expect a 50MP main camera (IMX882, OIS) and an 8MP ultrawide shooter. Meanwhile, a 20MP camera is available in a central punch-hole cutout for selfies. The cameras do a good job at 1x, but the ultrawide lens is a budget-tier camera that falls apart indoors and after sunset. The ultrawide camera also tends to differ wildly from the 1x camera in terms of image consistency. These cameras aren't going to threaten the likes of the Pixel 9a, then. However, I am glad to see features like 4K/60fps video capture and motion capture functionality. 1x Ultrawide Selfie 1x Ultrawide Otherwise, the new phone also offers a 6.83-inch 120Hz OLED screen (1.5K) that gets bright enough for outdoor viewing. As for the phone's durability, you can expect an aluminum frame, Gorilla Glass 7i on the front, a glass back covered in Panda Glass, and an IP68 rating. In fact, this might be the first standard POCO F series phone (i.e., not Pro) with full-fledged water resistance. The F7 is quite hefty at 217 grams, though, putting it on par with the Galaxy S25 Ultra. POCO is offering four years of major OS upgrades and six years of security patches. That's not on par with Samsung's six years of OS/security updates for the Galaxy A36 5G and seven years for the Pixel 9a, but it's still a respectable update policy. POCO F7 pricing and availability Hadlee Simons / Android Authority The POCO F7 starts at just $399/£389 for the base 12GB/256GB model, while the 16GB/512GB model costs $449/£429. This makes it slightly cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G (£399) and significantly cheaper than the Google Pixel 9a (£499). The company is also offering early bird promotional pricing, taking the phone down to a base price of $339 and £319. The phone will be available in various markets, including Europe, India, Latin America, the UK, and Southeast Asia. POCO is also offering the device in Black, White, and a special Silver option with a Snapdragon logo on the back. So you should definitely give this a look if you want a cheap, powerful, and long-lasting phone — if you don't care about the camera experience. Got a tip? Talk to us! Poco F7 India price range leaked ahead of June 24 launch event
The Poco F7 is all set to launch in India on June 24, but ahead of the official event, fresh leaks have given away some key details, including the potential price range. According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the upcoming Poco smartphone could be priced between Rs 30,000 and Rs 35,000. While this has not been confirmed by the brand, the leaked range aligns with Poco's past pricing strategy for its F-series recent years, Poco has positioned its F-series as performance-driven devices at aggressive prices. The F6 and F5 both started at Rs 29,999, while the F4 was launched at Rs 27,999. Considering the tough competition under the Rs 35,000 segment from rivals like iQOO and OnePlus, Poco is expected to keep the F7 within reach of value-focused Poco F7 is already listed on Flipkart, giving a glimpse of what to expect. The biggest highlight appears to be its massive 7,550mAh battery — potentially the largest ever seen on a smartphone in India. Poco claims the battery can last more than two days on a single charge under normal usage. This is made possible by silicon-carbon battery tech, which also supports 90W fast charging and 22.5W reverse charging, turning the device into a power bank when needed. If the specs are accurate, the Poco F7 could surpass existing leaders like the iQOO Z10 and Vivo T4 in battery capacity. However, the final design is still under wraps, so questions remain about whether the phone will be bulky due to its large In terms of performance, the Poco F7 is expected to come with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. A recent Geekbench listing hints that the phone could feature this processor, paired with 12GB of RAM in at least one variant. This new chip is designed for high-end performance, and early benchmarks indicate that it might deliver speeds close to the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen give some context, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 uses a balanced core setup, including one Cortex-X4, five Cortex-A720, and two Cortex-A520 cores. In comparison, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is tuned more for multi-core performance, with one Cortex-X4 and seven Cortex-A720 cores, but it skips the smaller efficiency cores. As a result, users may get strong processing power but slightly lower battery efficiency. If the Poco F7 does launch around the Rs 30,000 mark with this chipset, it could be one of the most powerful phones in its segment. That said, since these details are based on leaks and not yet officially confirmed by Poco, it's best to wait for the launch before drawing Poco F7 is also said to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, which launched recently in China. If that is true, the Indian variant could offer a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and IP68 water and dust resistance. Storage options may go up to 1TB, and the RAM could go as high as 16GB. On the camera front, leaks point to a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 20MP front shooter for selfies and video the official launch just days away, Poco fans will soon find out how accurate these leaks are. If the pricing and features turn out to be true, the F7 could give strong competition to other mid-range heavyweights in India.

Poco F7 India launch soon: Expected price, specs
Poco is preparing to launch a new smartphone in India under its popular F-series, and this time it looks like battery life will be one of its biggest highlights. The upcoming Poco F7 has been spotted on Flipkart, confirming some key details ahead of the official launch. While the company has not yet shared the exact launch date, the teaser confirms that the Poco F7 will arrive with a massive 7,550mAh battery, likely the largest battery ever seen on a smartphone in India so far. Here is everything we know so F7: Full specs (leaked)According to Flipkart's listing, the Poco F7 is set to offer a battery that could last more than two days on a single charge under moderate use. To be specific, Poco claims up to 2.18 days of use from a full charge, thanks to the silicon-carbon (Si/C) battery technology used in the device. For those who often worry about battery backup, this could be a major selling point. The device will also support 90W fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging, meaning users can use it to charge other devices too, like a power Poco F7's battery is even larger than the ones inside the iQOO Z10 and Vivo T4, which currently lead the battery size race with 7,300mAh units. That makes the Poco F7 the biggest battery phone in the country if it arrives before any rival launches something With such a large battery, there are obvious concerns about size and weight. Poco has not shared any official design details yet, but it will be interesting to see how the brand manages the thickness and overall comfort of the device without making it too for performance, the Poco F7 could be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. A Geekbench listing suggested that the phone will feature this new chipset along with 12GB of RAM on at least one of the variants. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is built for high performance, and early benchmarks suggest it could offer performance closer to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. For your reference, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has a more balanced core setup with 1 Cortex-X4, 5 Cortex-A720, and 2 Cortex-A520 cores, making it superior for both efficiency and performance, while the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 uses 1 Cortex-X4 and 7 Cortex-A720 cores without any efficiency cores, offering stronger multi-core performance but less power efficiency. In the Rs 30,000 range, the Poco F7 with 8s Gen 4 will likely give a strong performance to users. But, it is important to note that these specs are not officially confirmed by the brand, so it is better to take the leaks a little lightly. advertisementMany reports hint that the Poco F7 could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, which was recently launched in China. If that is true, we can expect the Poco F7 to feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone may also come with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and include up to 16GB RAM and 1TB internal the camera front, the F7 is expected to offer a triple camera setup on the back, including a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies, a 20MP front camera is likely to be included. Poco F7: Expected price in IndiaTalking about price, Poco has been consistent with its aggressive pricing strategy. The Poco F6 and F5 were both launched in India at Rs 29,999, and the F4 before them started at Rs 27,999. Given the strong competition in the sub-Rs 30,000 category from brands like OnePlus and iQOO, Poco is likely to keep the price of the F7 around the same range. Even if there is a price bump, it's expected to be a small one.
