RAF museum prepares to move Stafford collection to Shropshire

The ambitious relocation has been dubbed The Crate Escape, with the public invited to contribute to a fundraising campaign as part of the Ewen Cameron said the relocation was "no small feat" and that it would equate to more than 31,000 hours of work by specialist staff and volunteers. Children's authors to attend Staffordshire Young Teen Fiction Awards

Two popular children's authors are set to join young readers from across Staffordshire for an annual book Terry and Christopher Edge will attend the Staffordshire Young Teen Fiction Awards on 1 July at the RAF Museum in County Council said the event, now in its 20th year, was a "huge celebration of teen fiction" which hoped to encourage young people to enjoy reading aged 11-14 who attend school in the county have been voting for their favourite book from a shortlist of eight titles. Shortlisted books for this year's awards include Lie or Die by A. J. Clack, A Mind Full of Murder by Derek Landy and The Things We Leave Behind by Clare Hayley Coles, cabinet member for communities and culture, said thousands of young readers and library staff looked forward to the event each said getting to meet their favourite authors could be "inspirational" for pupils."It's all about encouraging a love of books and reading," she added."Young people tell us that taking part makes them feel part of a wider reading community that goes beyond the school book club." Thousands of military aviation enthusiasts have gathered in Cosford for the RAF Air well as the Red Arrows and iconic Spitfires, display teams from Ireland, Poland, and the Netherlands took to the skies above the Shropshire base on Ldr Dave Kerrison, one of the organisers, said there was lots to event was first held in 1978, and has run most years since then. Sqn Ldr Kerrison said: "Everybody wants to see the Red Arrows [but] we've got quite a lot of flights that are coming in today, so it's going to be a fun-packed day."He said that as well as air displays, the Air Force would showcase everything it did, and not just touch upon its part in conflicts but highlight its role in humanitarian this year include the Great War Display Team performing a dogfight routine in replica British, French and German World War One aircraft.
