Neeri's ‘One Day As A Scientist' Programme Excites Students

1 2 3 Nagpur: The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-Neeri) is organising the 'One Day As a Scientist' programme from 21 to 25 July 2025 at CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur, under the CSIR Jigyasa project. The event was inaugurated by Dr Vinay K. Nandicoori, Director of CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CSIR-CCMB), Hyderabad. Addressing students participating in 37 CSIR Institutes, Dr Nandicoori shared his research journey, encouraging them to explore basic biology and its role in addressing challenges like antimicrobial resistance. Dr S Venkata Mohan, director of CSIR-Neeri, also interacted with the students during the inaugural session, motivating them to delve into the fascinating world of environmental science and engineering. To mark the occasion, the students conducted various science experiments in the laboratories, particularly water and soil analysis, and learnt scientific principles through interactive demonstrations. They also explored the research and development (R&D) areas of the premier institute.
