Did Nicki Minaj Just Shade Beyoncé? The Barbz And BeyHive Heatedly Debate 'Mechanical Bull' Post
Did Nicki Minaj just throw shade Beyoncé's way? Well, it depends on who you ask, as the Queens MC took to her X account Sunday (July 13) with a post referencing a mechanical bull that fans of Beyoncé took as a dig, as Bey has been riding a mechanical bull on stage throughout her Cowboy Carter Tour. Minaj recently called out Bey's husband, JAY-Z, for allegedly cheating her out of multi-millions via their past deal with streaming service, TIDAL. JAY also made a surprise appearance on his wife's tour during the third date of its Atlanta stop Sunday night. While the BeyHive took offense, Nicki's loyal Barbz were quick to remind the Hive that the exact quote, 'The bull I ride is not mechanical' is from her 2023 track 'Cowgirl.' Still, the timing of the post and decision to highlight that bar in particular has Bey fans hitting Nicki and her followers with the side-eye. Check out the post above and both the Barbz's and BeyHive's reactions below. The BeyHive The Barbz Minaj took to social media to call out JAY-Z last week, reposting a meme from 50 Cent highlighting Rymir Satterthwaite's lawsuit against the mogul, as the 31-year-old is currently alleging that the Brooklyn native, 55, is his father. She followed that up by accusing him of refusing to hand over up to $200,000,000 in connection to her equity in TIDAL. 'We've calculated about 100-200MM so far. #JayZ call me to settle this karmic debt. It's only collecting more interest,' she wrote on X, adding that despite the financial dispute, 'You still in my TOP 5 tho.' While Minaj has no problem calling out the 4:44 rapper by name, she previously denied throwing shots at Bey after being accused of referring to the Houston native as a 'robot,' with the rapper calling the claim an 'absolute lie.' Softball staff has familiar ring
Emily Phillips returns to McNeese as an assistant coach. (Kirk Meche / American Press archives) While James Landreneau will have an entirely new coaching staff next year, most of the names will be very familiar to Cowgirl fans. The McNeese State head softball coach announced his staff for next season Thursday, with four of the five being former Cowgirls themselves. Landreneau also confirmed the signing of Arkansas transfer Rylee Cloud, who signed with McNeese on Wednesday. Cloud is from Leesville originally and returns to the area for her final college season. 'We are really excited to get Rylee back here,' said Landreneau. 'She is a high-energy player who has a big arm and can play both middle infield positions equally well. She also has some pop in her bat.' Cloud joins transfer Maddie Weeks, who signed Tuesday from Southern Miss. As for the new coaches, Hope Trautwein-Valdespino will assume pitching and recruiting duties for Landreneau. She comes to McNeese after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Houston. She began her coaching career as a graduate assistant at Oklahoma, where she pitched her final season and helped the Sooners to a national championship in 2022. They also won the title in 2023 while Trautwein-Valdespino was on the staff. Trautwein-Valdespino spent her first four college seasons at North Texas, where she became the first Division I pitcher to throw a perfect game in which all outs were recorded by strikeout. That came on April 11, 2021, against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. 'Hope knows pitching,' said Landreneau. 'She has done it on a high level in big games. She has been to the College World Series and won it, so she knows what it takes to get there. 'She is a very big get for us.' The four other new coaches all played and won championships for Landreneau at McNeese. Emily Phillips will lead the catchers and also assist with some of the recruiting efforts. She was a catcher at McNeese after starting her career at James Madison. Phillips helped McNeese win two Southland Conference titles after being a member of the 2021 JMU team that advanced to the College World Series. Crislyne Moreno will also serve as an assistant coach, working with infielders. She played three years at McNeese before heading to Texas-San Antonio for her senior season last spring. Landreneau finished up his staff with a pair of Graduate Assistants, Chloe Gomez and Rylie Bouvier. Gomez was a two-time all-Southland Conference catcher while at McNeese, graduating in 2024. Bouvier played last year as the Cowgirls' first baseman, moving over from third base for her senior season. 'It is great to have players come back and coach,' said Landreneau. 'They understand our system, our culture, and know what we are trying to do here. I'm very comfortable with this coaching staff. 'What's really nice is that players want to come back and coach here. It says they liked the culture and what we are about. It is also great for our fans who are used to them.' McNeese will be looking for its fifth straight SLC regular-season championship next year and a return to the NCAA postseason for the first time in three seasons.

Guzzardo finishes roster
Ayla Guzzardo finished her recruiting class Thursday. (Kirk Meche/ Special to the American Press) When she showed up at McNeese State, Ayla Guzzardo didn't come alone. The new Cowgirls women's basketball coach brought most of her Southland Conference championship program with her from Southeastern. Still, she needed one big piece to finish her roster puzzle. Guzzardo believes she signed that piece on Thursday in 6-foot-4 center Brittney Burton. Guzzardo is familiar with Burton, having signed her previously to play for the Lady Lions out of Woosman High School in Monroe. However, Burton didn't play for SELA last season. Still, Guzzardo went after her when she realized she was missing one more inside player to finish off her roster. 'Brittney is somebody we know very well,' said Guzzardo. 'We are excited to have her come to McNeese.' Guzzardo believes that once Burton gets back into basketball playing shape after the year off, she can be one of the better big players in the Southland. 'She has great hands and great footwork,' said Guazzardo. 'It is big that we got her here in the summer. I think she can be an all-conference player for us.' Guzzardo has turned the McNeese roster over in her first few months in town, as only leading scorer Paris Guillory returns from last year's Cowgirl team that finished 10-21, 5-15 in the SLC and missed the postseason tournament, which McNeese hosted. Despite suffering through a knee injury, Guillory was the only Cowgirl to average in double figures at 13.8 points per game. The St. Louis Catholic standout was in her first season at McNeese after spending her freshman year at Louisiana Tech. Guillory should help pick up the slack that Guzzardo must replace from her club a year ago, with the graduation of Alexius Horne, who led SELA at 14.3 'We will use a couple of people, probably to fill Alexius' numbers,' said Guzzardo. 'Paris will be a big part of that.' When she originally signed with Guzzardo in Hammond, Burton said she liked how the program felt like a family to her. That is something the new coach has tried to bring to McNeese. 'We are a family,' Guzzardo said. 'That's a big part of our success.' Guzzardo hopes that signing Burton will give her a second center and much-needed depth inside to make another run at a league title in her new home.

Beyoncé give fans a ‘once in a lifetime' gender reveal. ‘This is important'
A fan in the front row of a Beyoncé concert got the thrill of a lifetime. On Wednesday, May 28, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter was performing the East Rutherford, New Jersey, stop of her 'Cowboy Carter' tour when she noted a fan holding up a manila envelope. The fan was wearing an American Flag cowboy hat, matching Beyoncé's outfit at the time, and an all black jumper with an American flag flare at the ankle. 'This is important. A once in a lifetime gender reveal,' the singer said as she walked over to grab the envelope. The rain was coming down on the entire Metlife stadium as Beyoncé worked to get the envelope that read, 'Named our first born CARTER. Will you do the gender reveal for his sibling?' opened. 'I'm sorry,' she mouthed as she struggled at first to get the damp package open. Inside the envelope read either Cowboy for a boy or Cowgirl for a girl. Beyoncé said into the microphone with a big smile on her face, 'It's a boy' as she showed of the piece of paper that read 'COWBOY.' 'God bless you,' Beyoncé said to the fan. 'Congratulations. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of this.' At first, Beyoncé attempted to hand back the reveal, but she quickly changed her mind, saying, 'I'll keep it!' The father-to-be, who shared the video on TikTok, captioned it, 'Beyoncé did our gender reveal.' In the comments, people joined Beyoncé in congratulating the couple. 'The gag of the century. This boy will have the best 2 truths and a lie,' one comment read. 'That's what my wife said too,' the father-to-be replied. 'I was hoping she remembered to come back to y'all! It was so cool to see live,' a fellow concert goer wrote. 'Congratulations on your Cowboy!!' Other commenters encouraged the new parents to name their new baby boy Carter in honor of Beyoncé's family's last name, not realizing that the parents named their first child Carter in honor of the singer.
