Man, 19, dies in County Durham A1 crash
A 19-year-old man has died in a crash on the A1 in County services were called to a "serious collision" involving a Seat Leon on the northbound carriageway, near Coxhoe, just before 02:20 BST on Wednesday, Durham Police driver, who was the only person in the car, suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.A stretch of the road northbound and southbound, between J60 Bradbury and J62 Carville, was closed until around 11:30 BST causing delays of up to an hour.
The man's family have been notified and are being supported by specialist force has asked for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.
