Georgia football lands 4-star WR over 3 SEC rivals

The post Georgia football lands 4-star WR over 3 SEC rivals appeared first on ClutchPoints. Two months ahead of the 2025 college football season, Georgia landed its next major class of 2026 recruit. Kirby Smart continued the never-ending recruiting process by adding four-star receiver Craig Dandridge to the Bulldogs' evolving offense. Advertisement Dandridge committed to Georgia over offers from Tennessee, Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia Tech and Stanford, On3 Sports' Hayes Fawcett reported. The athletic wideout is rated as the 38th-best wide receiver prospect of the class by 247 Sports. Upon landing in Athens, Dandridge will be a part of Georgia's new offensive era. The Bulldogs' current top wideouts — Zachariah Branch, Dillon Bell, Noah Thomas and Colbie Thomas — are all expected to leave after the 2025 season. Georgia's current group of young receivers includes four-star freshmen CJ Wiley, Talyn Taylor and Landon Roldan. Three-star prospects Tyler Williams and Thomas Blackshear are also competing for snaps. Craig Dandridge joins Georgia football's class of 2026 Joshua L. Jones / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Dandridge is only the latest recruit to join Georgia's 2026 college football recruiting class. The Bulldogs' incoming class is currently a top-three group in the country, led by five-star quarterback Jared Curtis. Advertisement Coming off a disappointing 2024 season, Smart has been active in recruiting during the 2025 offseason. Georgia has not let off the gas, seemingly obtaining a new high-profile recruit every few days. While the hype for the 2026 season is already high, Georgia will have to get through a challenging 2025 season. After losing quarterback Carson Beck in the transfer portal, the Bulldogs have a massive question to answer under center. They are currently slated to have former backup Gunner Stockton take over, despite how poorly he played in Beck's stead in the 2024 postseason. In addition to Beck, Georgia also lost defensive stars Mykel Williams, Jalon Walker and Malaki Starks, who were all taken in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Offensive linemen Dylan Fairchild and Tate Ratledge also departed, along with running back Trevor Etienne. The draft departures added to the Bulldogs' transfer portal losses, setting up substantial changes on both sides of the ball. Georgia Lands Highly Touted Playmaker Amid Hot Streak

Georgia Lands Highly Touted Playmaker Amid Hot Streak originally appeared on Athlon Sports. It didn't take long for the Georgia Bulldogs to fill a recruiting hole left by four-star receiver Vance Spafford. Advertisement On3's Chad Simmons reported Thursday that fellow four-star receiver Craig Dandridge committed to the Bulldogs. The wideout chose Georgia over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Oklahoma Sooners and Tennessee Volunteers. 'It is about the program Georgia is. What they do for their players on and off the field is great, and I see Georgia having the best of both worlds," Dandridge told On3." "They offer great support in whatever you need to help you become a better person or player. The coaching is great for on the field, and they will help prepare you for the NFL or to be a businessman. "They have a great plan for both football and life after football.' Georgia Bulldogs football head coach Kirby Smart© Dale Zanine-Imagn Images It would have been surprising if Dandridge chose a school other than Georgia. The Bulldogs were the front-runners for the four-star receiver throughout his recruitment process. Advertisement But it's still a recruiting win Georgia should celebrate. Dandridge became the fourth recruit to commit to the Bulldogs this week. In addition to the receiver, four-star prospects Jae Lamar, Khamari Brooks and Shadarius Toodle, along with three-star defensive lineman Corey Howard, have pledged to Georgia since June 22. The 247Sports Composite rankings rated Dandridge the No. 38 wide receiver and 26th Georgia prospect in the 2026 recruiting class. Dandridge is also the No. 237 overall recruit in the class. Behind the hot streak this week, Georgia has moved up the 247Sports class rankings for 2026. The Bulldogs' class now sits at No. 3 behind only the USC Trojans and Texas A&M Aggies. Georgia lands a commitment from blue-chip WR Craig Dandridge Jr.

Georgia is keeping one of the nation's top pass-catchers home. Craig Dandridge committed in-state to the Dawgs, who edged out Oklahoma, Georgia Tech and Stanford for the blue-chip wide receiver out of Milton (Ga.) Cambridge. Advertisement No program hosted the in-state four-star wide receiver target more since being offered than Georgia, which has been trending in the right direction with Dandridge for the bulk of the spring and started to separate from the pack of contenders after officially visiting Athens earlier this month. "After that visit, they have made me feel like a top priority for them," Dandridge told Rivals. "Everything went very well on that visit," he continued. "Some of the highlights were being able to talk to Coach (James) Coley about how they could develop me, talking to Coach (Mike) Bobo to understand more about their offense and then being able to sit down and talk one on one with Coach (Kirby) Smart to just understand his plan and mindset for his team and how he plans to push his players to reach their potential." Georgia has been setting the bar for the Rivals250 WR from Milton (Ga.) Cambridge after multiple visits to Athens, including a return for an official visit on May 30-June 2 weekend. Advertisement Dandridge has grown very familiar with Athens and the connections on the Bulldogs' staff. "My family was very intrigued talking to all the coaches because they haven't been able see what they are like outside of the football world until now," he mentioned. "They thought that each coach was very intentional and transparent when talking." "Getting to tour the campus, dorms, facilities, the education tour, and being able to sit down and talk one-on-one with the coaches. What stood out was each coach's passion for the development of each of their players on and off the field," Dandridge added. Coley has continued to single out Dandridge as a top target for the Georgia staff at the position. Advertisement Dandridge logged official visits to Stanford, Georgia Tech, Georgia and Oklahoma -- and leaned on the longstanding relationships in Athens to sort through his list of contenders. "It was also great to hear how they will develop their players to be successful on and off the field," Dandridge said. "I like the culture and how they operate. They made it clear that they will make you a better person and man."
