A Travel-Loving Former MP
Craig Whittaker | United Kingdom
Craig Whittaker, former Member of Parliament for the Conservative Party in the UK, is known not only as a seasoned politician and a devout man of faith, but also as a tireless traveler. Representing the Calder Valley constituency, Whittaker served in Parliament from 2010 to 2024, during which he held several key positions including Deputy Chief Whip, Treasurer of the Household, and Vice-Chamberlain of the Household.
A dedicated member of the LDS Church, Whittaker was deeply family-oriented and valued direct engagement with the public. Each week, he commuted between London and his constituency in Yorkshire, maintaining close contact with local issues. He was often seen involved in community events, addressing flood concerns, and supporting local development initiatives.
Throughout his political career, Whittaker faced some controversies—particularly regarding comments made during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and his stance in favor of the gambling industry. Nevertheless, his commitment to public service, personal integrity, and passion for movement and exploration set him apart from many of his peers.
In 2023, he joined Tempus Novo, a UK-based social initiative focused on rehabilitating ex-offenders into the workforce, where he currently serves as an ambassador—continuing his service to society in a new capacity.
