Quaint Scottish coastal tearoom with magnificent sea views that serves 'unreal' cakes
With the summer holidays in full swing, and some decent warm weather ahead, many of us will be looking for a good road trip destination or somewhere new to visit for a bite to eat.
The Crail Harbour Gallery and Tearoom is somewhere to visit, as it has become a popular spot for tourists and locals, especially in the summer given its beautiful sea views and delicious food.
Located in Crail in Fife's East Neuk, the gallery and tearoom is a 'charming' spot which is situated in the cellar of a 17th century fisherman's cottage on the Shoregate in the picturesque village.
During summer, and especially on sunny days, visitors can enjoy the courtyard for an al fresco coffee or lunch, and soak in the uninterrupted views across the Firth of Forth to the Isle of May.
Inside, you'll find original features including exposed beams, flagstone floors and stone walls full of character - and artwork from D. S. Mackie, a local artist specialising in Scottish scenes. Prints, cards, originals and local crafts are also available to buy.

As well as this the tearoom serves a light lunch menu of paninis with fillings including mozzarella and tomato; brie and cranberry; smoked ham; local dressed crab; hot smoked salmon; and marinated herring - all served with salad and crisps.
If you're looking for a sweet treat, visitors have commented on the 'buttery' scones, fruit or plain and there's also cakes and shortbread. Tea and fairtrade coffee is also served along with hot chocolate and soft drinks.
The Crail Harbour Gallery and Tearoom has been praised for its cosy interior, suntrap courtyard and friendly staff, as well as its stunning views and good food. It is also a dog-friendly venue.
One reviewer said: 'The nicest little gem of a tea room I've had the pleasure to visit. The views from the back are just stunning, and it's nicely sheltered.' While another added: 'This place is so special. I visited with friends and had a lovely coffee and a piece of their blueberry and lemon cake which was unreal. The views speak for themselves and the staff were lovely.'
Open seven days a week, there's no bookings but if the tearoom is full, they do takeaway which can be enjoyed on the beach.
