‘Nightmare neighbour' arrested for posting smoke bombs and throwing eggs is found with sick pictures of children
A MAN dubbed a "nightmare neighbour" by police for posting smoke bombs and throwing eggs was found with sick pictures of children after being arrested. Andrew Wilson, 53, from Lichfield, Staffordshire, was jailed for multiple offences on June 19 at Stafford Crown Court. 1 Wilson was jailed after cutting off his neighbour's internet access and throwing smoke bombs and eggs. Staffordshire Police said Wilson had taken a dislike to his neighbour merely because they had a dog who they would play with in the garden. When officers arrested him he was then found with indecent images of children on his device. Police said he put smoke bombs through his neighbour's letterbox, threatened them with a baseball bat and cut off their internet access as part of the dispute. Wilson was jailed for two years and four months after admitting multiple offences. This included two counts of stalking involving alarm and distress which involved him throwing stones, smoke bombs and eggs at a neighbour. This is in addition to threatening them with the baseball bat and interfering with their wi-fi and CCTV cameras. Wilson also admitted to three counts of making an indecent photograph of a child relating to category A, B and C images. As part of his sentence, Wilson was handed a sexual harm prevention order and a notification order for ten years. He was made the subject of a restraining order indefinitely. Wilson was ordered to forfeit the internet tampering device and mobile phone to police as well as pay a victim surcharge of £228. An officer who lead the case from Lichfield local policing team, said: 'Wilson's conviction and sentence sends a clear message that those who engage in such disturbing and harmful behaviour will be prosecuted and brought to justice. "The safety and wellbeing of our community is our absolute priority, and we remain committed to protecting residents from those who pose a threat - whether through stalking or any other form of abuse. "We continue to work closely with partner agencies to support victims and ensure Lichfield remains a safe place for everyone.'

Arena bombing survivor battered in her own home by thug who shouted: 'I'm going to be a terrorist'
A Manchester Arena bombing survivor was left 'at rock bottom' after a violent thug stormed her home, shouted 'I'm going to be a terrorist' and launched a brutal attack — just as she was starting to rebuild her life. A woman who survived the Manchester Arena terror attack has been left traumatised once again after a thug burst into her home and shouted 'I'm going to be a terrorist' before brutally beating her. Joanne Wenton was attacked in the early hours of the morning by 20-year-old Lewis Tucker, who threatened to burn her house down and r epeatedly punched and kicked her as she lay on the ground. The terrifying ordeal unfolded at her home in Anfield, Liverpool, just as she was finally rebuilding her life after being caught up in the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing, which killed 22 innocent people at an Ariana Grande concert, reports LiverpoolEcho. Tucker, who has a long criminal record, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court and was jailed for 16 months after admitting assault and criminal damage. He was also handed a five-year restraining order. The court heard Tucker had turned up at Joanne's house on March 28 — something he often did — and she had let him in, believing she was helping someone in need. But he suddenly 'snapped', shouting threats including: 'You're all going to be dead. I'm going to be a terrorist now, and I'm going to burn your house down.' The words were a chilling reference to Joanne's past. During the Manchester attack, she was knocked unconscious by the blast and struck by shrapnel while taking her 13-year-old daughter and her daughter's friend to the concert. This time, Tucker ran to the kitchen to grab a knife and launched a frenzied assault — punching her repeatedly before kicking her in the head and body after she fell to the floor. Even after his mother arrived and tried to intervene, he continued the brutal attack. Tucker then wrecked her home — smashing her TV, throwing a traffic cone through her window and tearing out her fireplace. In a heartbreaking statement, Joanne said: 'I have PTSD from the Manchester bombing. I was just starting to get my life back on track, and now I'm at rock bottom. I feel terrified, stupid, and totally let down. He's not just dangerous to me — he's a danger to society.' She collapsed the next day with what doctors said was severe concussion, and now lives in fear. Tucker has 13 previous convictions for 31 offences including wounding and attempted robbery. His lawyer said he suffers from PTSD, ADHD and likely autism, and had a 'very difficult upbringing' in care. Sentencing, Recorder Louis Browne KC told him: 'This was a prolonged, terrifying attack committed under the influence of alcohol. Your criminal record is troubling — especially given your young age. You posed a serious threat to someone who showed you nothing but kindness.' Tucker appeared via video link from HMP Liverpool wearing a grey t-shirt. His mum, who was present in court, was visibly distressed and said tearfully: 'I thought, when you were in court, you had to tell the truth.'

Paedophile, 21, who hounded 13-year-old girl into alleyway before raping her in broad daylight is jailed
A predator who hounded a 13-year-old girl in the street before he attacked her in an alley has been jailed for seven years. Sorosh Amini, 21, approached the victim in broad daylight on North End Road in Croydon, in August last year, persistently tried to engage her in conversation and would not leave her alone. He then followed her down North End Road and into an alleyway, before he forcibly kissed her and tried to put a cannabis joint into her mouth, a court heard. He told her that he was friends with someone who recently stabbed a man and the young girl terrified he was armed with a knife. He then proceeded to rape her. The victim reported the assault to police and received safeguarding and support from specialist officers. Amini was convicted of rape and sexual assault on Thursday, 1 January following a two-week trial at Croydon crown court. And today was sentenced to seven years in prison and issued with a ten year sexual harm prevention order at Croydon Crown Court. He was arrested and charged following an investigation which utilised CCTV footage and specially trained forensic dogs to place him at the scene. Amini left his home address in London the day after the offence. Officers then used phone data and CCTV to locate him in Liverpool and arrested him five days later. Detective Inspector Donnett Oseni, who led the investigation, said: 'Amini's attack on this vulnerable girl was predatory and calculated. 'He has demonstrated himself to be a dangerous sexual offender and this sentence prevents him from harming anyone else. 'I want to commend the victim for her courage in coming forward and reporting this offence to us. I hope today's verdict will bring her and her family some semblance of closure.'

Man found guilty of murdering wife as she pushed baby in pram in Bradford
A "violent, jealous, controlling" stalker who tracked his estranged wife down before stabbing her to death as she pushed their baby in a pram has been found guilty of murder. Habibur Masum, 26, launched a "ferocious" attack on Kulsuma Akter, 27, as she walked on Westgate in Bradford, before calmly leaving the scene. He had admitted manslaughter and possession of a knife but denied murder. The jury convicted him after five hours and 40 minutes of deliberations. Masum will be sentenced on 22 July. A trial at Bradford Crown Court heard that Masum tracked Ms Akter to a refuge in Bradford, where she had been staying after he held a knife to her throat following an assault at their home in Oldham in November 2023. After finding her through her phone location, Masum was seen on CCTV in the days leading up to the fatal attack 'loitering, watching and waiting' in streets around the hostel, jurors heard. He sent her a photo of the front of the building with a message saying: 'I know that you are living in this place. I knew from the first day you moved here." He sent her messages threatening to kill her family members if she did not return to him, before trying to lure her out by sending her fake messages from a local GP practice pretending their son had an appointment. The court heard Ms Akter eventually felt safe enough to leave the refuge on 6 April last year after Masum updated his Facebook page falsely claiming to be in Spain. As she was walking in the city centre with a friend, pushing her baby in a pram, Masum confronted her. He was seen on CCTV trying to steer Ms Akter and the pram away before pulling a knife from his jacket. CCTV footage of the attack, played during the trial, captured Ms Akter's screams as Masum stabbed her at least 25 times, put her on the ground and kicked her 'as a final insult'. Masum left their child at the scene and went on the run for three days before being arrested in Buckinghamshire. The prosecution said Masum, originally from Bangladesh, showed no signs of being 'distressed' after killing his wife. During the trial, Masum refused to watch footage of the attack but jurors heard that during his first police interview he requested to see it, saying he wanted to see what officers 'had on him'. In evidence, Masum said he did not remember killing his wife and had taken a knife with him intending to stab himself in front of her if she did not 'listen to him'. He broke down in tears as he claimed to have 'lost control' when Ms Akter told him there would be no shortage of people willing to replace him as a father to their son. But the prosecution said his tears 'were as fake as his claims of self harm' and that 'the only person Habibur Masum feels sorry for is himself'. As well as murder, Masum was convicted of stalking, assault and making threats to kill. Masum had a Youtube channel which showed him demonstrating how to construct a baby's cot. His videos also feature him experiencing "snow in the United Kingdom", documenting a journey from Manchester to Barcelona and shopping in Primark. Speaking after the verdict, senior investigating officer Det Ch Insp Stacey Atkinson, of the West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said Masum had "calmly walked away as if nothing had happened" after murdering his wife." She added: 'Kulsuma's family have been left absolutely devastated by her death, I hope today's conviction will bring them a sense of justice."

Pregnant Shaughna Phillips' drug dealer baby dad was jailed after raid
Love Island star Shaughna Phillips saw her happy personal life fall apart in 2023 when her boyfriend, Billy Webb, was arrested and jailed for illegal drugs crimes Love Island star Shaughna Phillips has declared she is "very happy" after reviving her relationship with the father of her child - who is in jail. The 31-year-old reality star found fame on ITV's long-running dating show in 2020 when she was a contestant on season six. While in the villa, the Londoner embarked on a romance with fellow contestant Callum Jones - but she was ultimately dumped from the Island after more than a month of being on the show. While romance failed on TV, Shaughna had better luck back in the real world. Since 2020, she has had an on-off relationship with real estate agent Billy Webb. All appeared to be going well for the couple in 2022 when the reality star fell pregnant with their first child. But things took a dramatic turn in January 2023 when Billy was arrested while Shaughna was 30 weeks pregnant. After dumping Billy and welcoming their daughter, Lucia, Shaughna recently revealed that she had reunited with her ex - who has been able to enjoy home day privileges while serving time. But why is Love Island star Shaughna Phillips's boyfriend Billy Webb in Jail? Here are the details of his dramatic arrest and sentencing. Who is Billy Webb and why is he in jail? Billy Webb is a former estate agent who was jailed in November 2023 after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply 4.5kg of cocaine worth at least £360,000. He was arrested following a Met Police drugs raid in January that year - when Shaughna was 30 weeks pregnant with their first child. After standing trial at Southwark Crown Court, Webb was sentenced to nine years behind bars for seven drug offences - including dealing. At the time Southwark Crown Court heard Webb, of London, ran a 'relatively successful' drug operation called Barry's Party Supplies offering cocaine, MDMA and ketamine, with special discounts before major football matches. Webb was arrested in January 2023 after being stopped and searched by police, who later found scales and bundles of cash. He was also linked to criminals' secret messaging service Encrochat, the court was told. Mitigating, Webb's lawyer Nichola Cafferkey said: 'He knows it's through his own actions he's separated from [his loved ones] and he should be assisting the upbringing of his young family.' Shaughna denied knowing about Webb's criminal activities. Last Christmas, Shaughna sparked surprise when she revealed she was spending time with Webb during the festive season, with it being suggested at the time he had been released from jail. Reports have since revealed that the convicted criminal has been permitted to leave his prison on day release - with the former estate agent seemingly given the privileges after serving 12 months behind bars. When did Shaughna Phillips and Billy Webb get back together? When Webb was arrested in January 2023, Shaughna saw her world fall apart - and two months later, she gave birth to their daughter, Lucia. During Webb's trial, the Love Island star penned a letter on behalf of their daughter to be read out in court. She previously said of the note: ''There was absolutely no discussion of leniency. Billy pled guilty to something that he'd done, and there was no denying that fact that's done.' She added: "I described how Billy is as a person and it was from Lucia's point of view, and included things like, 'I'm looking forward to being with my dad when he's home.' I had a duty to do that for her as her Mummy. The fact I wrote the letter was then spun up into a story in the papers, saying we were back together. That couldn't be further from the truth." While fans were convinced Webb's conviction would be the end of the relationship, they were surprised when Shaughna revealed they were spending Christmas together last year. In a social media post, the ITV star revealed: "If you had told me this time last year, that me and Billy would be taking Lucia to see Santa next Christmas, I probably wouldn't have let myself believe you. The best couple of days, this Christmas is going to be so special." She also told fans via social media that she would not consider appearing on Love Island: All Stars as she was not "single". And this month, Shaughna revealed she is pregnant with her second child with Webb having been able to spend time with him while he continues to serve his time. She exclusively told the Mirror: "We're so happy to announce we are adding to our little family. Lucia is going to be the best big sister and is really excited to have a new baby brother or sister arrive later this year."
