Who Is Uditaa Goswami? Mohit Suri's Wife Who Once Ruled Bollywood With Bold Roles
Uditaa Goswami's Bollywood debut came in 2003 with Pooja Bhatt's first directorial venture, Paap, starring alongside John Abraham. As director Mohit Suri is back in the spotlight for the buzz around his latest romance drama, Saiyaara, there's also renewed interest about the woman beside him— Uditaa Goswami. While many may remember Udita for her bold roles in films like Zeher and Aksar, she has since embarked on an entirely new and inspiring journey. Born and raised in Dehradun, Uditaa Goswami studied at Cambrian Hall and DAV Public School before embarking entering the entertainment industry. Her striking presence soon caught the audience's attention, earning her a spot in the viral remix music video Kya Khoob Lagti Ho opposite Upen Patel. Her Bollywood debut came in 2003 with Pooja Bhatt's first directorial venture, Paap. Starring alongside John Abraham, Uditaa won hearts with her impressive screen presence. However, it was her collaborations with Emraan Hashmi that truly brought her into the spotlight. In the 2005 thriller Zeher, her acting prowess shone through, and who does not remember the unforgettable romantic track Agar Tum Mil Jao? Soon after the release, the song turned out to be a chartbuster for Uditaa's sizzling chemistry with Emraan. Later, the duo reunited in Aksar (2006). The erotic thriller is known for the chartbuster song Jhalak Dikhla Ja – a song that soon became a massive hit and cemented both Emraan and Uditaa's rising stature in pop culture. Apart from her popular films with Emraan Hashmi, Uditaa also delivered noteworthy performances in Aggar, Kisse Pyaar Karoon, Fox, Chase, Rokkk, and Mere Dost Picture Abhi Baki Hai. Her last appearance on the big screen was in Diary of a Butterfly (2012), following which she quietly stepped away from the spotlight. Family Life And Bollywood Connection Beyond the glitz and glam of the entertainment industry, Uditaa's personal life also remained in the spotlight. She began dating filmmaker Mohit Suri and the couple tied the knot in 2013. Together, they welcomed two children—a daughter, Devi, born in 2015, and a son, Karrma, born in 2018. As of now, Uditaa is also connected to Bollywood's renowned names. She is the sister-in-law of Pooja Bhatt and Alia Bhatt, whereas Emraan Hashmi is her brother-in-law, making her a part of the influential Bhatt film family. According to her Instagram bio, Uditaa Goswami has embraced a new identity as a DJ – beautifully balancing motherhood, marriage and music. Delhi HC seeks clarity from private schools on pay arrears to teachers
New Delhi [India], July 15 (ANI): The Delhi High Court has directed numerous private schools across the national capital to file affidavits detailing the implementation status of the Sixth and Seventh Central Pay Commission (CPC) recommendations for their teaching and non-teaching staff. A Division Bench comprising Justice Navin Chawla and Justice Renu Bhatnagar issued the directive while hearing a batch of appeals filed by teachers from various private institutions, including DAV Public School, GD Goenka Public School, ASN Sr. Secondary School, St. Margaret Senior Secondary School, and others. The appeals challenge a Single Judge's earlier ruling that, while recognising the teachers' entitlement to revised CPC-scale salaries, had also appointed a committee to examine whether the schools had adequate funds to disburse such salaries, and to assess the eligibility and appointments of the staff. Counsel appearing for the teachers argued that the appointment of such a committee went beyond the scope of the original writ petitions. The teachers had moved court primarily seeking enforcement of salary payments under the Sixth and Seventh CPCs, not a review of their service credentials or school finances. On the other hand, counsels representing the schools submitted that fee hikes have not been permitted by regulatory authorities, leaving them without sufficient funds to fully implement the CPC scales. Some schools claimed to have already adopted the revised pay commissions from various dates and had even cleared partial arrears. To resolve the factual disputes, the Court has now directed each school involved in the appeals to file a single affidavit (not one per case) within four weeks, clearly stating whether they have implemented the Seventh CPC, the date of such implementation (if done), the extent of salary arrears already paid under both the Sixth and Seventh CPC and the amount still pending, if any. The schools are to share copies of their affidavits with the teachers' legal teams. Teachers, in turn, may file responses within two weeks thereafter. The matter is next listed for hearing on September 17, 2025. (ANI)

Ananya means business: Future economist tops CUET
TNN Ludhiana: Ananya Jain of DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana, has emerged as the national topper in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), 2025, securing All India Rank (AIR) 1. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Ananya, who wants to pursue BA (Hons) Economics in Delhi University, attributes her feat to sharp focus, unwavering discipline, and methodical preparation. Prioritising early and preparing thoroughly has stood her in good stead, adding to her track record of academic brilliance. Ananya was clear about her goals and started preparing for CUET even before she started Class XII. With discipline, clarity and good time management skills, she balanced her CBSE Class XII syllabus with CUET topics. "Similarities in the syllabus helped me focus on both," she said. However, the real push came in the last leg of preparation. "For the final month before CUET, I was taking five mock tests every day," Ananya shared, adding, "I'd write down my scores, average them, and work on weak areas. That gave me a good estimate of where I stood." Her dedication reflected in her results. She scored 98.8% in Class XII boards and stood third in Ludhiana district. Still, AIR 1 in CUET was a "pleasant surprise." "I was confident of getting into a top college but never imagined standing first in the country," she said modestly. Ananya's interest in economics shaped her goal of pursuing the subject at India's premier institutions. "Economics is logical and fascinating. I enjoy microeconomics in particular," she said, adding that she draws inspiration from stalwarts like Dr Manmohan Singh and Amartya Sen, and dreams of contributing meaningfully to the field. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Her father, chartered accountant Manav Jain, introduced her to commerce-related ideas early on through his professional network, but her passion was self-driven. What sets Ananya apart was her clarity of priorities and a well-planned approach. "She always knew what she wanted," said her mother, Niti Jain. "She planned everything with discipline. Even before her Class XII boards, she was already mapping out her CUET strategy." Her family supported her throughout the arduous preparation. Her elder brother, Gauransh Jain, who has completed (Hons), remained a pillar of support. "Whenever I was stressed, my brother was there for me. My parents and family members provided a calm and encouraging environment to me," she said. Even as studies took centrestage, Ananya was, by no means, a bookworm. "It's important to relax and reset," she said. Her go-to stress busters included Kathak dance and Madhubani painting, which she has pursued since Class VIII. "Madhubani is soothing and pattern-based. It helps me unwind and center myself," she said. Her advice to those appearing for the exam reflects her strategy. "Set your mind on the goal, be consistent, and work with determination. But don't forget to take breaks and do what makes you happy. If you've studied for 7 to 8 hours, it's important to pause and recharge," she said. Her mother Niti Jain is understandably proud of her gifted daughter. "She never had to be told when to study or take breaks. She managed everything so well on her own. She knows her priorities, but we made sure we were there when she needed and ensured a good environment for her to study." Success Factors Early preparation: Starting before Class XII gave her a strong foundation. Discipline & time management: She made sure to balancie board exam preparation with CUET syllabus Mock tests: Taking five mock tests daily and analysing scores helped her track progress and improve Holistic approach: Engaging in Kathak dance and Madhubani painting helped her stay mentally refreshed Support System: Her family provided emotional and logistical support throughout Advice to Aspirants --Set clear goals --Be consistent and determined --Take breaks and pursue hobbies to recharge
