Leauanae Laulu Mac Leauanae from the Ministry for Culture and Heritage said the sites have been identified as possible locations for the memorial. It would honour the 257 people who lost their lives in 1979 when Flight TE901 crashed into the slopes of Mt Erebus in Antarctica while on a sightseeing tour. "The potential sites we shared with Erebus families and members of Operation Overdue are Avon Riverbank in the central city, Cracroft Reserve in Cashmere and St James' Church grounds in Harewood," Leauanae said. No decisions have been made about locating the memorial in Christchurch or which of the potential sites may be selected. The ministry is currently seeking feedback from Erebus families on each of the potential sites. "We are grateful to Erebus families for their continued engagement. Sharing these potential sites is an important step and we will carefully consider their feedback. "We are committed to building this memorial - for the people who lost loved ones, for New Zealanders, and for those here and overseas impacted by the Erebus tragedy," says Leauanae. A rescue worker at the crash site of the Air New Zealand plane that hit Mount Erebus in Antarctica in 1979. Christchurch Mayor Phil Mauger said the city is honoured to be considered as a possible location for the memorial. "On behalf of Christchurch, I extend a warm invitation to Erebus families to consider the city as a potential location for the memorial," says Mayor Mauger. "As a city, we have experienced tragedy and understand the deep impact the Erebus disaster continues to have on people across Aotearoa. "Christchurch is long connected to Antarctica, we feel a deep sense of responsibility to honour the lives of your loved ones with great care and quiet dignity." Leauanae said the Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage will continue to work closely with Erebus families, mana whenua and stakeholders to find a site for the memorial.

Urgent Spain warning for Brits as boozy tourists push locals 'to the brink'

The president of the local health services union, José Manuel Maroto, told that club owners must start forking out for private ambulances to help ease the burden on the service Services have been pushed to the brink in Ibiza due to partying holidaymakers. The ambulance service on the Spanish island is facing collapse, a union has warned, due to the huge number of clubbers falling ill after taking drugs. A third of all call-outs the ambulance service makes are to clubs, some of which can hold as many as 10,000 ravers. ‌ It is the latest strain on the Balearic island, which attracts around 3.4 million tourists a year—many times more than its 160,000 permanent residents. ‌ The president of the local health services union, José Manuel Maroto, told that club owners must start forking out for private ambulances to help ease the burden on the service. 'It's inconceivable that businesses with an income of millions of euros a year can't provide this service, which is saturating the emergency services at the expense of the local population,' he said. Do you have experience of this side of clubbing in Ibiza? Email webtravel@ ‌ 'The clubs are obliged to employ nurses and other health workers, but not ambulances—the cost of which is borne by public services.' According to Maroto, only one major club, DC-10, uses a private service. Although the dealing of recreational drugs such as MDMA is illegal on Ibiza, as it is in the rest of Spain, many dealers operate on the island. The high cost of drinks in many of the superclubs means taking illicit substances is often cheaper. ‌ The Hollywood star Will Smith was at the inauguration last month of UNVRS, the island's biggest club, where the cheapest entry is €100 (£86) and drinks can cost €25. A study by the local paper El Diario de Ibiza showed that the island is the third most expensive destination in the Mediterranean after Saint-Tropez and Capri. 'Sadly or not, drugs are the cheaper option. Not trying to vouch for them, just saying. Drinks are crazy expensive—a vodka soda should be around €22–25, but even a beer is €16–18. Club entry is €50–100,' one Reddit user recently wrote on a forum about the costs of clubbing in Ibiza. Unlike in the UK, where venues that serve alcohol are legally obliged to provide free water to customers, clubs in Ibiza make a huge amount of money from selling it bottled and canned to dehydrated drug takers. According to one person on Ibiza Spotlight, they were charged €13 for a 330ml can of water in the superclub Pacha. Data on the number of recent drug deaths in Ibiza is hard to come by. However, a 2017 study in European Psychiatry found that 58 drug-related fatalities were recorded in Ibiza from 2010 to 2016. Of those, 87% were men, while more than a third were Brits—by far the biggest single group.

She adds: 'It makes me furious to hear during his trial what he has done to women. He made sexual advances on me, telling me that he liked me a lot. Belen Ronda Campesino 'I don't really follow the news but when I saw some pictures of this guy because of his trial I got really nervous. 'I had a similar experience with him to everything that has been coming out now.' Belen says she encountered Combs in 2006 around the DJ booth at the DC-10 club where she worked. Belen, who lives in Spain, says things had begun to go south, when Combs bought her a drink. She adds: 'I saw that when he went to put the wad of cash away he took out a bag with a white powder in it, which I thought was cocaine. 'But he started to do something weird in his pocket and it really bothered me. 'I turned around and was telling a friend, but then I stupidly drank the juice. 'About 10 or 15 minutes later I started feeling dizzy and sleepy and I was sweating heavily. 'I didn't understand what was going on.' She reveals that she had tried to escape to the VIP area, but he followed her there and tried to get her to a party at his house. 8 Belen and Combs at Ibiza club DC-10 in 2006 8 Belen says Combs 'looked like he had taken a lot of drugs' She says: 'I told him I didn't want to go, that I was not feeling well and needed to go home. A party fixer exclusively told The Sun on Sunday last year how Ibiza clubs such as DC-10, Space and Amnesia were Combs' stomping grounds for years. After the verdicts were read out on Wednesday at his trial, Combs dropped to his knees and made a praying gesture. 8 Combs gets into the party vibe at the club 8 Belen met Combs around the DJ booth at the DC-10 club But he was denied bail, remains in jail and is expected to be sentenced over his prostitution conviction on October 3. A lawyer representing more than 100 alleged victims in civil cases against Combs vowed they would fight on despite the sex-trafficking and racketeering not-guilty verdicts. Tony Buzbee said: 'Diddy dodged a big bullet today. 'But that doesn't end the saga.'
