Kentucky AG finds no credible law violations from 2024 general election inquiries
Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman announced July 1 there were no credible election law violations from Jefferson County and 11 others after inquiries were opened following the 2024 general election. The inquiries, conducted by detectives from the Attorney General's Department of Criminal Investigations, were presented to grand juries by the Special Prosecutions Unit, officials from Coleman's office said in a statement. 'Kentuckians can have confidence our Commonwealth's elections are free, fair and secure," Coleman said, adding he was appreciative of county clerks, poll workers and volunteers "who made it possible for Kentuckians to exercise one of our most fundamental rights." After the 2024 general election, Coleman randomly picked 12 counties to undergo the inquiries. In addition to Jefferson County, Barren, Boyle, Calloway, Campbell, Daviess, Edmonson, Jessamine, Lincoln, Metcalf, Trigg and Warren counties were also selected. At a November 2024 news conference, Coleman said his office's election fraud hotline received more than 700 calls about possible law violations during the 2024 general election, including nearly 350 made on Election Day alone. Roughly 150 came from Jefferson County, where voters and poll workers experienced frustrations after e-poll books locked up and froze at several polling locations. The Kentucky Democratic Party and the American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky filed a lawsuit to extend voting time by two hours in Jefferson County, but a judge denied the motion. In a previous interview with The Courier Journal, Jefferson County Clerk Bobbie Holsclaw apologized for lengthy wait times voters may have experienced, and said she and her staff were committed to finding ways to prevent the technical issues from happening again. In a July 1 letter to Kentucky State Board of Elections Director Karen Sellers, Coleman noted his office's inquiry in Jefferson County "received added public interest." "After a thorough inquiry, including interviews with the Clerk's Office, vendors, local voters, and the State Board of Elections, DCI identified several factors that could potentially have contributed to the delays, including short-staffing and internet connectivity issues," Coleman wrote. Panjab University invites online applications for admission to MDS
The Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has invited online applications for admission to Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) at Dr Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences & Hospital. The prospectus for admission to the MDS first-year course for the session 2025–2026 is available on the official website of the PU dental institute. The candidates can apply online at The MDS course will have 17 seats in six specialties. Candidates must submit their information online to generate a login ID and password, followed by payment of the registration fee through online mode by July 4. The provisional merit list of eligible candidates and the provisional seat allotment list for the first round of counselling will be displayed by evening on July 6 on the institute's website and notice board at Admission to the MDS course is open to candidates who have qualified NEET-MDS 2025 and meet the eligibility conditions outlined in the official NEET-MDS 2025 Information Bulletin. Admission will be conducted by the admission committee constituted by the PU and qualifying NEET-MDS 2025 alone does not ensure admission; eligibility will be determined based on merit, required documents, and university regulations. Candidates who surrender their seat will not be eligible for further MDS counselling in the same academic year. Additionally, PwD candidates will be considered under the 5 per cent reservation quota as per DCI norms.

Oral and maxillofacial surgeons qualified to perform facial aesthetic procedures: Telangana Dental Council
The Telangana Dental Council has announced that Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (OMFS) are fully qualified to perform facial aesthetic procedures and hair transplantation. Citing amendments made by the Dental Council of India (DCI) to the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) Course Regulations, published in the Gazette of India on August 26, 2019, the Council stated that OMFS specialists undergo rigorous training that equips them with the skills necessary to carry out a wide range of complex procedures. These include oral surgery, craniofacial corrections, soft tissue reconstruction, management of facial trauma, TMJ surgeries, rhinoplasty, skull base surgeries, and aesthetic interventions on facial skin, muscles, bones, eyelids, and ears. The Council also recalled the vital role played by Maxillofacial Surgeons during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in treating cases of mucormycosis (black fungus), where their expertise in skull base and sinus surgeries was instrumental in saving lives. The Telangana Dental Council further pointed to multiple official communications from the DCI that validate the authority and competence of OMFS practitioners in the domain of aesthetic medicine and urged the public to not be misled by statements from any unauthorised organizations or councils.
