Spl court takes up land dispute cases in Bokaro
Bokaro: Land dispute cases are now being heard by a mobile court in the district. With more than 1,200 transfer appeal cases from Chas and Chandankiyari circles pending in his court, deputy collector land reforms (DCLR) Prabhash Dutta has obtained a special permission from deputy commissioner Ajay Nath Jha to conduct mobile court camps in Circle offices. This unique initiative aims to speed up the resolution of disputes process and ensures that justice is not denied due to absence or lack of information. "Special court camps are scheduled from June 13 to 18. Chas circle office (CO) is hosting hearings on June 13, 14, and 16, while Chandankiyari CO office will hold sessions on June 17 and 18. The first mobile court was held at the Chas CO where the appeal of one Shyamali Dubey from Bokaro Steel City was heard. Many other complainants were also present, marking a strong turnout," said Dutta. The DCLR explained that many appellants remain unaware of the hearing location and often visit older offices, resulting in no-shows. "If the public can't reach the court, then we as a quasi-judicial court reached the public," he said. Those who remain absent during these mobile hearings will face unilateral decisions. Notices have been posted in govt offices and panchayats to inform citizens. "Many raiyats (landholders) participated in the court camps. Data operator at circle office caught taking Rs1L bribe
Sasaram: A vigilance team on Saturday arrested a data operator at the Sasaram circle office on charges of accepting a bribe of Rs 1.10 lakh in connection with a land mutation case. According to official sources, the bribe was demanded even though the deputy collector land reforms (DCLR) had already issued a directive for the mutation to proceed. The complainant, Pankaj Kumar of Pratapgarh locality in Sasaram town, informed the vigilance department that circle officer Sudhir Onkara had been deliberately delaying the process and had allegedly sought Rs 1 lakh for himself and ₹Rs 0,000 for the data operator. After verifying the complaint, the vigilance team laid a trap. On Saturday afternoon, when Pankaj arrived at the circle office to hand over the bribe, the circle officer was absent. He instructed Pankaj over the phone to give the entire amount to data operator Akash Kumar Das. As soon as the transaction took place, the Vigilance team arrested Das. Vigilance DSP Amarendra Prasad Vidyarthi said an investigation was underway to determine the involvement of other officials. Following the operation, the circle officer went into hiding and switched off both his cellphones. Rohtas DM Udita Singh subsequently submitted a report to the state govt recommending action against the circle officer. However, despite the report being filed four months ago, no action has yet been taken. According to revenue department sources, over 200 complaints against the circle officer remain unresolved and are gathering dust.

Patna district sees reduction in pending property mutation and land dispute cases
Patna: Patna district magistrate (DM) Chandrashekhar Singh on Monday issued a final deadline of this month to dispose of all pending property mutation cases, older than 75 days, to the circle officers of five divisions. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Most of the 14,108 cases pending for more than 75 days are mainly in the five administrative divisions of Sampatchak, Bihta, Didarganj, Dhanrua and Naubatpur. Sampatchak has 636 pending cases older than 75 days, with 161 disposed of in the last one week; Bihta has 499, with 98 disposed of; Didarganj has 156, with 90 disposed of; Dhanrua has 105, with 15 disposed of; and Naubatpur has 82 pending with 77 disposed of. Meanwhile the number of pending property mutation cases older than 75 days decreased from 80,592 to 14,108 in one year in Patna district, said DM Singh, who held a review meeting on Monday to assess the progress in land-related issues. Around 80,592 mutation applications were pending last year on April 1, of which 40,207 expired. This decreased to 14,108 on May 3, out of which 1,709 expired. He also felicitated the circle officers who performed well in the disposal of mutation cases with recommendation letters. "Good efforts have been made by 21 out of 26 circle officers," the DM said. Directions were also given to expeditiously dispose of mutation appeals pending for more than 30 days. In the review, it also came out that out of the total 71,698 applications for correction in digitised land records, 56,633 were disposed of, while out of 44,863 pleas for digitisation of unavailable land records, only 11,445 are pending. The DM directed the circle officers to dispose of all 8,688 cases pending for more than 120 days immediately in both the categories of digitisation of land records and expedite the progress of boundary dispute cases. They were directed to promptly dispose of cases pending for more than 90 days in the BLDRA court. The DM directed all the DCLRs to monitor revenue works to ensure strict compliance with the govt's directives. He also directed all circle officers to make land available for various schemes, coordinating with the block-level officials of the departments concerned.
