Amrish Puri lost his memory after shooting under a waterfall for an Ajay Devgn film: ‘Kaun hu main, kya kar raha hu?'

Every Kajol fan must have come across her famous behind-the-scenes story of temporarily losing her memory on the sets of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. But, did you know late actor Amrish Puri also went through a similar experience? Amrish Puri was shooting with Kajol's husband, actor Ajay Devgn, when he had a short-term memory loss. He lost his memory for at least three hours, creating a panic on the set. While recounting her experience on Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kajol said in an interview with Mashable India that her on-screen dad from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (DDLJ) went through a similar experience. 'Amrish ji ki bhi yaadash gayi thi (Amrish Puri too lost his memory),' said the actress. She explained, 'He was shooting for a film with Ajay (Devgn) and he had to give a shot from under a waterfall. And one can only imagine the kind of force a waterfall has… Ajay told me there was no padding on his head so when he came out of the waterfall, he couldn't remember a thing.' Kajol said that the story might sound funny, but it was very serious. In the same interview, Kajol shared that Amrish Puri had a fondness for her husband Ajay Devgn after they collaborated on multiple films together. 'He loved Ajay', told Kajol. When Saroj Khan and Nadeem clashed over Raja song ‘Ankhiyan Milaoon Kabhi': ‘Aapka kaam hai gana shoot karna, gana select kabse karne lagi aap?'

Legendary choreographer Saroj Khan is fondly remembered for the timeless songs she helped bring to life through her masterful choreography. Among the many iconic tracks she's associated with, one standout is 'Ankhiyan Milaoon Kabhi' from the 1995 film Raja, directed by Indra Kumar. The song remains a favourite at weddings and festive functions even today. However, not many know that Saroj initially disliked the song when she first heard it. In a recent interview on The Ashok Pandit Show, lyricist Sameer, who penned the song, revealed that the choreographer had a strong reaction upon hearing the track at the music studio. He recalled, 'Gana record ho raha tha Sunny Sound mein, Saroj ji aaye gana sunne, aur unhone bola ki Nadeem kya banaya hai tumne, ek hi instrument chal raha hai poore time, main iss mein kya shoot karungi (The song was being recorded at Sunny Sound. Saroj ji came to listen to it and said, 'Nadeem, what have you made? It's just one instrument playing throughout. What am I supposed to shoot for this?')' At the time, composer Nadeem of the iconic duo Nadeem-Shravan, was at the peak of his career. Sameer continued, 'Aur Nadeem toh uss waqt shabab par tha toh uss ne bola ki Saroj ji aapka kaam kya hai – gana shoot karna, dance karna… gana select kabse karne lagi aap? Nadeem ne bola ki Saroj ji gana toh yahi rahega chahe aap rahengi ya hum rahenge, magar gana yahi rahega (And Nadeem, who was at the height of his success, responded, 'Saroj ji, your job is to choreograph and shoot the song… since when did you start selecting songs? This song will remain, whether you or I are here or not, but the song will stay as it is.')' The confrontation didn't end there. Sameer added, 'Ye sunne ke baad Saroj ji neeche utari gane dete huye Nadeem ko ki ye samajhta kya hai aapne aap ko. Aur unhone bola ki chal tu bhej gana tujhe batati hoon (After hearing that, Saroj ji stormed downstairs, cursing Nadeem, saying, 'Who does he think he is?' And she said, 'Fine, send the song to me – I'll show you what I can do.')' Eventually, Saroj Khan turned the very track she initially rejected into a visual masterpiece. Sameer recounted, 'Gana gaya bhaiya poora mix hokar aur phir Madhuri aayi, Sanjay Kapoor aaya, aur aisa shoot kiya unhone ki kya bataun (Once the song was fully mixed, Madhuri came, Sanjay Kapoor came, and the way they shot it – what can I even say, it was phenomenal).' Drunk Sanjay Dutt, irritated Javed Akhtar, short Salman Khan: Sanket Bhosale's mimicry leaves Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi in splits

Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi have shared a small-scale vlog, for a change. After posting several food vlogs filmed across Mumbai, and then sharing a series of travel vlogs from their recent trip to Switzerland, the couple invited comedians Sanket Bhosale and Sugandha Mishra to their Madh Island home, and spent an afternoon chilling with them. Sanket and Sugandha, who met over a decade ago, tied the knot in 2020. They're both well known for their impressions of celebrities such as Sonu Nigam, Sanjay Dutt, Usha Uthup and Kangana Ranaut. They have dozens of more impressions in their repertoire. Upon arriving, Sanket and Sugandha immediately made jokes about Archana and Parmeet's wealth. Sugandha thanked Archana for the support she showed to her back in the day, when she'd appear on comedy shows on television. She also told Parmeet that all of Punjab considers him to be a son of the soil, and are extremely proud of his achievements. 'When DDLJ came out, we all went crazy for Parmeet sir,' she said. They were joined by Archana and Parmeet's sons, Ayushmaan and Aaryamann. Sugandha, meanwhile, sang like Usha Uthup and Asha Bhosle. She also mimicked Kangana Ranaut, and made snappy remarks at the others. Sanket did impressions of both Farhan Akhtar and Javed Akhtar, making jokes that implied the veteran lyricist is annoyed by his son's singing voice, and that Farhan doesn't write original material. Later, Archana and Parmeet took them to their in-house gym, where Sanket did more impressions of Sanjay Dutt. He made jokes about Sanjay's love for alcohol, and then did an impression of Salman Khan where he struggled to reach the monkey bars. Then, Sanket sat down on the floor and did an impression of actor Pankaj Tripathi. Archana and her family were in splits, laughing endlessly at their jokes and their mimicry. Parmeet gave Sanket his blessings, and seemed to be truly impressed with his talent. Extremely talented couple. Maza agaya dekhkar inhe. Bollywood m jana chahiye inhe,' one fan wrote in the comments section. 'Wow what a beautiful couple,' another person commented.

Not Janhvi Kapoor or Ananya Panday, Kajol feels Alia Bhatt is the most promising star of the new generation: 'She has proven herself quite a bit'

Kajol acknowledges the evolving landscape of Bollywood and praises the new generation of actors for forging their own paths. She appreciates their self-awareness and independent choices, highlighting Alia Bhatt as the most promising talent. Kajol admires Alia's versatility and consistent performances in films like Gangubai Kathiawadi, recognizing her significant impact on the industry. As Bollywood continues to evolve with a wave of fresh talent, veteran actress Kajol is taking notice. In a recent interview, the DDLJ star shared her thoughts on the generational shift in the industry, praising today's young actors for forging their own paths instead of following in the footsteps of their predecessors. Among them, she singled out Alia Bhatt as the most promising talent of the new generation—highlighting her versatility, maturity, and consistent performances over the years. In an interview with India Today, Kajol was asked if any of today's young actors remind her of herself from the 1990s. She responded candidly, saying she's glad none of them do. Clarifying that it wasn't out of arrogance, Kajol explained that each emerging actor is carving their own identity and not walking in anyone else's footsteps — which, she believes, is exactly how it should be in today's changing industry. The actress further reflected on how much the film industry has evolved over the years. She pointed out that today's generation of actors is significantly more self-aware and driven by their own choices, unlike earlier times when guidance often came from others. When asked to name a standout performer from the younger generation, she acknowledged several rising stars but reserved special praise for Alia. She noted that Alia has consistently proven her talent, setting herself apart. While she also mentioned names like Ananya Panday , Janhvi Kapoor , and Sara Ali Khan , Kajol made it clear that Alia remains the most impressive among them in her eyes. Alia has won several accolades throughout her career for Udta Punjab, Raazi, Gully Boy, and Gangubai Kathiawadi. In 2024, she was also honoured with the National Film Award for Best Actress for her powerful performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi. Expanding her global footprint, Alia made her Hollywood debut in 2023 with the action thriller Heart of Stone.
