Thammudu X Reviews: Nithiin's Film Has Fans Saying ‘Poorly Executed'
Last Updated:
Starring Nithiin, Sapthami Gowda, Laya and Varsha Bollamma in lead roles, Thammudu explores the bond between a brother and a sister.
Nithiin starrer Thammudu arrived in theatres this Friday and early review suggests that the film is far from fans' expectations. The Telugu emotional action drama, starring Sapthami Gowda, Laya and Varsha Bollamma in lead roles, explores the bond between a brother and a sister. While the buzz around the movie was pretty strong, it has seemingly failed to impress fans after its release. Here we take a look what fans have to say about it.
A fan was seemingly frustrated at Nithiin for selecting a script like this and wrote, 'Thammudu Worst! Thanks to Nithiin for continuously reminding me that I am an idiot to watch his movies on premiere night. The movie neither had emotional drama nor action as they 'promised'."

Another review read, 'The film lacks story progression, with repetitive chases and weak emotions. The conflict feels shallow, making the drama forced and unengaging. Some fight sequences are good, but overall, it drags. A big miss for Nithin, and Venu Sriram loses grip throughout."

According to a cinephile, Thammudu 'tests patience from start to finish". They wrote, 'Director Venu Sriram attempts to deliver a unique action-adventure film with an interesting backdrop. However, he completely fails. The on-screen proceedings are outright silly at times, coupled with a core brotherhood emotion that is poorly executed. The villain's characterisation is somewhat unique, but the conflict point and its execution come off as unintentionally funny."

#Thammudu is yet another washout from Dil Raju. The openings are also disastrous, with not even a trace on BMS hourly trends. — bo (@breakdmyth) July 4, 2025
Thammudu explores the story of a brother and his sister facing unforeseen challenges. The narrative further emphasises the brother's unwavering commitment to protecting his sister while navigating sacrifices and emotional hardships along the way.
Joining the lead cast to play pivotal roles are Saurabh Sachdeva, Swasika, Hari Teja, Srikanth Iyyengar, Temper Vamshi and Chammak Chandra. Saurabh plays a ruthless antagonist in the film and proves his versatility with the role. On the other hand, Laya makes a return to the big screen after a long hiatus with the latest release.
Written and directed by Sriram Venu, Thammudu brings together a talented crew including KV Guhan, Sameer Reddy and Setu. Sh Prawin Pudi has done the editing for the film whereas the music is composed by B Ajaneesh Loknath.
