The DJI Osmo Action 4 is unbeatable if you're on a budget — and it just hit rock bottom price for Prime Day

The Prime Day deals have arrived, and there are some fantastic deals on action cameras. My favorite is undoubtedly this deal on my top-budget action camera, the DJI Osmo Action 4, which is currently $90 off at Amazon. At $209, this is the joint cheapest I've ever seen this camera sell for in the U.S., and the price is tied with last year's Black Friday sale price. If you're in the U.K. like me, you're in for even more of a treat. The DJI Osmo Action 4 is currently £124 off at Amazon, so just £165! That's a wild price for such an incredible action camera. Brits: buy now! It probably won't get cheaper than this. This deal on the Osmo Action 4 is my top overall pick. The DJI Osmo Action 4 is my favorite budget action camera. Since the Osmo Action 5 Pro launched, DJI has reduced the cost of the older model, and it's now at its lowest price ever for Prime Day. Fantastic 4K video, great internal audio, wireless hookup to DJI mics, and a slew of pro features — all for little more than $200. This is the joint lowest price the OA4 has ever been, tied with Black Friday last year, so I doubt it will go lower in the U.S. over the event (in short, it's a good idea to buy now!) DJI has slashed the Osmo Action 4's price in the U.K. too! This is a professional action camera, so even though it isn't the latest model, it still offers a vast amount of performance for the money. If you don't want to wait, it's worth taking the plunge already. As I predicted yesterday (when the camera was £215), the U.K. price has now dropped even further to a record low. Now is the time to buy the OA4! Rumors abound that DJI will be releasing new cameras soon, which may be why we're seeing big discounts on its cameras for Prime Day. Yesterday, in my roundup of the top Prime Day action camera deals, I wrote that I expected DJI gear to start dropping a little further in the U.K. (it was at £215), but I wasn't expecting the OA4 to be discounted quite this much. £165 is, frankly, crazy money for this camera — I can't see it dropping any further and now is absolutely the time to buy if you want a new action camera! Alas, U.S. trade tariffs have affected DJI products, meaning lower levels of discount in the States, although $209 is still an incredibly good price for the OA4. You simply can't find a brand new action camera for that money with the pro features of this camera. The DJI Osmo Action 4 is my top budget pick on our list of the best action cameras you can buy, and that was before the Prime Day discount! This little camera packs 4K video, decent stabilization, great internal microphones and wireless hookups to DJI devices like the DJI Mic 2 or DJI Mic Mini. It also features a slew of professional features, including Log and HLG recording for wider dynamic range capture. It isn't as capable as the newer DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro, which features improved stabilization and battery life (and is my favorite action camera overall), but the newer model is naturally more expensive. Pound for pound (literally in the U.K.), the Osmo Action 4 was already phenomenal value for money and an ideal tool for aspiring content creators needing a professional-tier camera without breaking the bank.

I'm a cameras editor — here are the 21 early Prime Day action camera deals I recommend

There are already some awesome Prime Day deals to be had on camera gear despite the sales event not officially starting until tomorrow. GoPro, DJI and Insta360 have already started slashing prices on their gear ahead of the event. My favorite deal so far is on the DJI Osmo Action 4, which is currently just $209 at Amazon — that's the joint lowest price it's ever been. And the deals aren't just at Amazon. Any GoPro fans out there can pick up the very latest GoPro Hero13 Black with a 12-month GoPro Premium subscription for just $329 at GoPro — you'd normally pay $479, so that's a massive $150 saving. There are also deals on Insta360 gear, including 360 cameras like the Insta360 X4, which is currently $349 at Amazon. That's the lowest-ever price on a camera I awarded a full 5-star rating — it's too good of a deal to pass up. My fellow Brits needn't worry either: we're not missing out on deals. My top U.K. deal right now is the latest Insta360 Ace Pro 2, currently £70 off at Amazon. But there are plenty of other great bargains to be had. Read on to save some money with my favorite Prime Day 2025 action camera deals. I'm Pete, senior editor here at Tom's Guide and in charge of all our camera coverage. I test every single action and 360 camera for review. All the products on this page have been tested by me, and I'll only recommend cameras worth buying at prices worth paying. The GoPro Hero13 Black is the latest and undoubtedly the best GoPro you can buy today. While not much changed from the Hero12 Black (also on sale) in terms of the core features, the new model has interchangeable lens mods to allow you to switch lenses and get creative with your check: $329 @ Amazon (no subscription) The GoPro Hero13 Black Ultra Wide Edition bundles the Ultra Wide lens mod, providing a massive 177-degree field of view that is over a third wider than the standard Hero13 Black Lens. If you need ultra-wide footage out of the box, this is the camera to check: $379 @ GoPro (w/ 12M GoPro subscription) The little GoPro Hero (2024) is a solid camera for basic content creation, especially if you're on a tight budget. It'll shoot video at 4K/30p and it demonstrated impressive battery life in my testing. It has its minor drawbacks, but on sale at this price, it beats everything else in the sub-$200 check: $199 @ Amazon (no subscription) The GoPro Hero12 Black might not be the latest model, but in all honesty, if you don't need the Hero13 Black's larger array of lens mods, this would be my pick. There's very little difference in terms of core imaging features between the Hero12 Black and Hero13 Black, but the Hero12 Black is significantly cheaper. I tested this camera for around six months and now own the Hero13 Black; there is very little difference between the two. This deal on the Osmo Action 4 is my top deal pick overall. The DJI Osmo Action 4 is my favorite budget action camera. Since the Osmo Action 5 Pro launched, DJI has slashed the cost of the older model. It's already seeing some decent discounts ahead of Prime Day. Fantastic 4K video, great internal audio, wireless hookup to DJI mics, and a slew of pro features — all for little more than $200. This is the joint lowest price the OA4 has ever been, tied with Black Friday last year, so I doubt it's going lower this Prime Day. [$59 coupon] The Insta360 Ace Pro was the Chinese manufacturer's first proper attempt at dislodging the hold that DJI and GoPro have long since held on the traditional action camera market (as Insta360 is often better known for its 360 cameras and kooky tiny cameras). Boasting 8K recording, fantastic stabilization, and seamless pairing with the epic Insta360 app, it's a strong contender for the action camera. It was overpriced when it launched, but at this sale price, the Ace Pro is a fantastic choice for content creators. [$69 coupon] The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is the current flagship traditional action camera from Insta360, taking on the likes of the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro and GoPro Hero13 Black. It packs the same 8K max video as the original model and only a few modest upgrades. However, Insta360 reduced the launch MSRP versus the first iteration, making this a more compelling package from the off. Now, at under $300 on sale, the Ace Pro 2 undercuts both the Hero13 Black and OA5 Pro — this is a very attractive deal indeed. The Insta360 X4 may not be Insta360's latest 360-degree camera, but it still packs a lot of the same technology, including 8K 360 recording (enabling 4K reframed output), excellent stabilization, and the ultimate framing flexibility that 360-degree cameras provide. The X4 earned a full 5-star score after our testing, and it's now cheaper than ever before. If it's the best of the best you're after, the Insta360 X5 is the only 360 camera you should be considering. Like its predecessor, the X4, the X5 earned our top award of 5 stars — I didn't think it was possible for Insta360 to improve the X4, but it somehow managed to. The X5 features vastly improved internal microphones, replaceable lenses and larger image sensors for improved low-light performance versus the prior model. It's a very new camera and the brand's flagship 360 cam, so unsurprisingly, this deal isn't huge, but I'd recommend buying it at full price, so any money off is a win! If you need a truly tiny action camera, forget the GoPro Hero — the Insta360 Go 3S is the king of the (rather small) hill. The Go 3S' thumb camera will mount on a cap peak, or even a cat's collar. It shoots 4K/30p video, and its battery life can be extended with the included Action Pod. You can't extend storage, though, and 64GB may be limiting at 4K. If you think that'll be an issue, check out the deal below... [$84 coupon] If you'll need a little more storage for those 4K files, the Insta360 Go 3S 128GB model is also on sale with an $84 coupon at Amazon. As we're seeing Stateside, DJI has slashed the Osmo Action 4's price in the U.K. too! This is a professional action camera, so even though it isn't the latest model, it still offers a huge amount of performance for the money. If you don't want to wait, it's definitely worth taking the plunge already. Usually, though, I'd expect to see the U.K. price a little lower than the U.S., so I think there may be more discounts on the way for this camera — it's one to keep an eye on as the sales event kicks off in earnest. The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro is the best action camera you can buy. It shoots beautiful 4K video, offers a range of professional features, has massively improved stabilization over the previous model, and features beautiful OLED displays and excellent battery life. It's just fantastic. Currently, there's only a tenner off. However, the OA5 Pro was released last year, and rumors are circulating about new DJI gear hitting the market very soon — I wouldn't be surprised if DJI drops the price for a sales event, so definitely keep an eye on this one. There's a whopping £150 off the latest GoPro Hero13 Black ahead of Prime Day. This is the best GoPro around, even if it isn't much changed over the Hero12 Black in terms of core features. If you could do with saving an extra £15, the camera is £284 at Amazon, but you won't get the 12-month GoPro subscription, which gives you unlimited cloud storage for your 5.7K video files and device replacement in the case of check: £284 @ Amazon (no subscription) The GoPro Hero13 Black Ultra Wide Edition equips the base Hero13 Black with the Ultra Wide lens mod, giving you a huge 177-degree field of view (over a third wider than the standard Hero13 Black Lens). If you need ultra-wide footage out of the box, this is the camera to get. This deal also includes a 12-month GoPro subscription, which gives you unlimited cloud storage (useful, as 5.7K video files take up a lot of space). GoPro's latest and tiniest action camera is the Hero, which shoots 4K/30P and weighs only 86g. It also has a pretty strong battery life, too. Unfortunately, you can't change batteries, and stabilization isn't done in camera, so you have to export via the GoPro app. For £176, though, there really aren't any other new action cameras that come close to this one. If you don't need the Hero13 Black's wide array of lens mods, the GoPro Hero12 Black is the GoPro to buy. Its core imaging features are pretty much the same as on the newer GoPro Hero13 Black, and you can swap out to a wider lens mod (lens mods for the 12 and 13 are not inter-compatible) for ultra-wide FoVs. At £243 on sale, the Hero12 Black is the best value GoPro you can currently buy. The Insta360 Go 3S is also on sale in the U.K., although we're only seeing discounts on the 64GB model currently. The Go 3S is so tiny that it can be mounted pretty much anywhere and is light enough to go on top of a cap peak or even a cat's collar. It shoots 4K/30p video like the GoPro Hero, and its battery life can be extended with the included Action Pod. You can't extend storage, though, and 64GB may be limiting at 4K. [£70 coupon] The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is the current flagship traditional action camera from Insta360, taking on the likes of the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro and GoPro Hero13 Black. While it isn't Insta360's latest 360 camera, the Insta360 X4 packs a lot of the same technology, including 8K 360 recording (enabling 4K reframed output), fantastic stabilization, and the ultimate flexibility that 360-degree cameras provide in regards to framing. The X4 earned a full 5-star score after our testing, and it's now cheaper than ever before. The Insta360 X5 is the latest 360 camera from Insta360, and it's also the best. The X5 features vastly improved internal microphones, replaceable lenses and larger image sensors for improved low-light performance versus the prior model. It's a very new camera and the brand's flagship, so £30 is probably as much as we'll see during this sales event, but I'd buy it at full price anyway, so any money off is a win!

DJI Osmo Action 4 Camera with Dual Touchscreens Sees Price Crash, Did Amazon Make a Mistake?

Amazon is pulling all the stops on Prime Day, cutting the price on some of the most popular items from the largest brands to their all-time low price. Among this year's steamiest deals is on the DJI Osmo Action 4 which has become a favorite among vloggers. You can get the DJI Osmo Action 4 standard combo for $209 today, discounted from its regular $299. That's a nice 30% discount, the lowest Amazon has offered this camera. Even better, this is a sale open to everyone (Prime member or not) so it's one you'll not want to miss. See at Amazon At its heart lies a spacious 1/1.3-inch sensor, implying finer image quality particularly in difficult lighting conditions. Whether shooting at sunrise or sunset, or in low-light environments, this camera captures clear footage with great clarity. 4K video at up to 120 frames per second enables you to capture fantastically smooth slow-motion footage, perfect for sport, travel, or creative use when detail matters. One of the Osmo Action 4's strengths in comparison to its competitors is its ability to function in low light: With the help of advanced sensor technology and DJI image processing, you experience vivid real-life colors and sharp captures even after dark. The camera also incorporates 10-bit color and D-Log M color profiles which provide creators with more room to maneuver when editing and your videos will look filmic and professional. It's made to go wherever your trip takes you with a water-resistant case that lets you dive as deep as 18 meters without ever needing a special casing. Surf, snorkel, get swept up in an unexpected rainstorm and your camera's got you covered. The hearty build construction means you can count on it to withstand bumps, drops, and whatever else you dish out in the great great outdoors. Battery life is always a concern with action cameras but the Osmo Action 4 addresses this with a long-lasting battery that can keep recording for up to 160 minutes on a single charge. That's more than enough for a full day of exploring and the fast-charging capability means you'll spend less time waiting and more time capturing memories. The dual touchscreen design (one on the front and one on the back) makes framing shots, reviewing footage and adjusting settings quick and intuitive. For Prime Day, the DJI Osmo Action 4 at $209 is a deal you can't pass up. See at Amazon

I test action cameras for a living — these are the ones I'd buy with my own money

I'm lucky enough that my job involves me testing all of the best action cameras and best 360 cameras on the market. From the latest GoPro Hero13 Black to the Insta360 X5, I've put them all through their paces. It's still early, of course, but July's Prime Day event is nearing, and manufacturers are already starting to cut prices. Like the DJI Osmo Action 4, which is currently $50 at Amazon With all the above in mind, I thought it would be a good time to use my testing experience to tell you which action cameras I would actually buy with my own money. Some of these are already on sale ahead of Prime Day, and some of them might be as we creep towards the sales event. Not all of these cameras will make the sales, though, as some are very new. But that doesn't mean they aren't worth buying. Conversely, you may see some sale prices already, but that doesn't mean the deals are actually good. Have a look through my favorites below, and for each entry, I'll run you through what counts as a good deal and when you should take the plunge. Pete is a senior editor at Tom's Guide, overseeing the site's reviews and camera coverage. He tests every action and 360 camera, and keeps a close eye on their pricing throughout the year to help you get the best deals possible. This deal on the Osmo Action 4 is my top deal pick overall. This is my favorite budget action camera, as since the Osmo Action 5 Pro launched, DJI has slashed the cost of the older model. It's already seeing some decent discounts ahead of Prime Day. Expert analysis — DJI Osmo Action 4 When to buy: Now / $200-$250 This is a pretty substantial deal, so if you need a camera now, I'd go for it. The OA4 may be an older model, but it still packs more than enough firepower for professional-tier content creation. It also has the second-best waterproofing in the industry, second only to its sibling, the Osmo Action 5 Pro. I've seen the OA4 go as low as $209 in the past, but with the U.S. trade tariffs, I'm not sure this Chinese-manufactured camera is getting any lower in the States this year. Find out more in my DJI Osmo Action 4 review. The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro is my favorite action camera overall, thanks to its blend of pro features, great video output and stabilization, and much lower MSRP than the GoPro Hero13 Black. Expert analysis — DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro When to buy: Now / any discount at all The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro isn't on sale yet, and any discounts on this camera will be small as it's the latest flagship, so I'd take any discount you can see. This is our favorite action camera for a reason, though, so I'd recommend buying even at full price. And besides, it's still $100 cheaper than a Hero13 Black, though, so if you need a top-tier camera, you're getting a great deal with the OA5 Pro even without money off. Find out more (including how it improves on the OA4) in my DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro review. The GoPro Hero13 Black is the best GoPro you can buy. While not much changed from the Hero12 Black in terms of the core functionality, GoPro fitted the new camera with interchangeable lens mods to allow you to get creative with the look and feel of your footage. Expert analysis — GoPro Hero13 Black When to buy: $300-$350 If you need a GoPro, then there should be nothing stopping you from buying the Hero13 Black right now. Tariffs have pushed up the prices of lots of GoPro gear, so the older models aren't that much cheaper, and it's difficult to justify buying them over this or the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro. Currently, the Hero13 Black is at full price, but GoPro is usually generous with its discounts during sales events. Late last year, this camera dropped to $299. I doubt we'll see discounts that steep again this Prime Day, due to trade tariffs, but I would still consider taking the plunge on this camera at any price within the $300 to $350 range. Find out more in my GoPro Hero13 Black review. The Insta360 Ace Pro was the Chinese manufacturer's first concerted attempt at dislodging DJI and GoPro's hold on the traditional action camera market. Boasting 8K recording, fantastic stabilization, and seamless pairing with the epic Insta360 app, it's a strong contender in the action camera market despite having been succeeded by a new model, the Ace Pro 2. Expert analysis — Insta360 Ace Pro When to buy: ~$270-$300 This is actually a pretty tempting deal. When I first reviewed the Ace Pro, I awarded a 3.5* rating — it's a great camera, but felt overpriced in the market. Now, though, with prices having dropped, this is a serious contender in the sub-$300 market when on sale. This camera has now been succeeded by the Insta360 Ace Pro 2, but the newer model is wildly expensive, so I wouldn't buy it with my own money (hence why it hasn't made this list). I've seen the Ace Pro drop to $269 only this month, so it's well worth holding out to Prime Day itself so you can snag the best deal. Find out more in my Insta360 Ace Pro review. The little GoPro Hero is a solid camera if you just need a basic tool for content creation. It shoots at 4K/30p and boasts impressive battery life. It has its minor drawbacks, but still beats almost everything else in the sub-$200 market when on sale. Expert analysis — GoPro Hero (2024) When to buy: ~$170 When it launched, the tiny GoPro Hero cost $199; however, GoPro has recently increased the price to $219 ahead of Prime Day. In its (usual) market segment, though, it's better than almost any other new action camera you can buy at around the $200 mark. As I mentioned before, GoPro is usually fairly generous with its discounts around trade events. This camera has been on sale as low as $169 this month! At that price, it's a great little budget camera for casual content creators. My advice would be to hold out for now, as I suspect the price will drop in the next couple of weeks. GoPro often bundles in subscriptions to its application and cloud storage service around these events, while charging the same as Amazon, so make sure to shop around and check GoPro's store. Find out more in my full GoPro Hero (2024) review. The Insta360 X4 isn't the manufacturer's latest 360-degree camera, but it still packs a lot of the same technology, including 8K 360 recording (enabling 4K reframed output), excellent stabilization, and the ultimate framing flexibility that 360-degree cameras provide. Expert analysis — Insta360 X4 When to buy: $350-$400 The Insta360 X4 is currently on sale, but if I were you, I'd keep an eye on it for a week or so as Prime Day deals start picking up. This camera was reduced to $359 just this month, so there may be more discounts to be had. However, even at $424, I would still invest my money into the X4 if I were in the market for a 360 camera. Aside from the (more expensive) Insta360 X5, no other 360 camera even comes close to the X4. That's because of the 8K maximum 360-degree resolution, which allows 16:9 reframing in 4K, higher than anything you can get from rival manufacturers. Find out more in my Insta360 X4 review. If you want the best of the best, the Insta360 X5 is the only 360 camera I can recommend. I didn't think it was possible to get much better than the previous model, the X4 (already better than every other 360 camera on the market), but Insta360 managed it, fitting the X5 with vastly improved internal microphones, replaceable lenses and larger image sensors for improved low-light performance. Expert Analysis: Insta360 X5 When to buy: Now / any discount at all The Insta360 X5 is the latest — and I mean it when I say this — greatest 360 camera you can buy. It's only a couple of months old as we head into the Prime Day event, so don't expect to find many discounts. Insta360 is usually pretty reserved with its deals anyway, so I've little hope of reductions on the X5. That said, if you have the cash, the Insta360 X5 is worth the extra premium over its predecessor, the Insta360 X4. The older model was already the best 360 camera out there, but Insta360 added a host of genuinely useful features, improving the imaging performance, audio performance, and long-term usability. Sale or not, I would buy this camera. Find out more in my Insta360 X5 review.

DJI Osmo Action 4 in 4K/120fps Costs Peanuts, Amazon Clears Stock at Record Low for Early Prime Day

Amazon has already begun selling pre-Prime Day discounts, and this year's early sale is available to all, even non-Prime members. That's correct, you can score top-of-the-line technology for major discounts without the need for a subscription. If you're in the market for an action cam to capture all your summer activities with pro-level quality, the DJI Osmo Action 4 is an excellent choice. Right now, the DJI Osmo Action 4 is available on Amazon for $249, down from its usual list price of $299. That's a significant drop for a camera packed with advanced features and performance, and our favorite action camera on the market today. See at Amazon The DJI Osmo Action 4 is able to shoot in stunning 4K resolution at up to 120 frames per second. This lets you capture silky-smooth slow-motion video which is ideal for capturing high-speed action or dramatic scenes. The camera also features a 155-degree ultra-wide field of view and immerses the viewer in your experience and having them believe they are along for the ride. The DJI Osmo Action 4 also has a 1/1.3-inch sensor which produces incredible image quality and incredible low-light performance. From sun-up to sun-down (or even in demanding nighttime conditions), the camera yields sharp, high-definition images with rich, genuine colors. The inclusion of 10-bit color depth and D-Log M color performance means you get professional-grade color grading capabilities, just right for making your videos pop with rich colors. The camera can record for 160 minutes continuously on a charge even in severe cold conditions of -20°C/-4 °F: This makes it a good companion for winter sports or any activity where the weather might be severe. The combo pack on sale at Amazon comes with one battery and a quick-release adapter mount to facilitate easy replacement of the battery or mounting the camera in any other alternative position. If you're looking to enhance your vlogs, interviews, or livestreams, the DJI Osmo Action 4 supports direct connection to Dji Mic 2 and Mic Mini transmitters for high-quality audio. This simplifies your setup and ensures your sound is as impressive as your visuals. The cam also features new things like Pre-Rec in which you can record for 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 seconds before recording which is perfect for fishing or any situation in which you need to get the shot perfect. And Highlight mode is featured now so it's simpler to select and share your greatest shots. At this price, the DHI Osmo Action 4 is the optimal choice if you are looking for a reliable HQ action camera. Make sure you don't miss the deal. See at Amazon
