DJ Koo still goes to see Barbie Hsu every day
29 Jul - DJ Koo Jun-yup suddenly went viral on social media, after a netizen confirmed media reports that the Korean entertainer is with Barbie Hsu every day since her passing. A netizen posted on Threads recently that he was driving a group of visitors to Chin Pao San Cemetery to lay flowers for Barbie, who was laid to rest there. Thinking that he might not be able to find the grave, he was surprised when he saw a man sitting in the middle of the cemetery. "I immediately thought, could that be DJ Koo? As we got closer, it really was. He politely said thank you to us," the netizen said. In the photo, one can see DJ Koo sitting on a chair in his shorts and sleeveless shirt, and wearing a cap to shade his face from the sun. The netizen added, "To be honest, I feel full of sadness when I saw him. It is hard for me to imagine the pain of having the love of your life suddenly leaving you! He is really the most affectionate man I have ever seen. I hope he can get over the pain." The post had since garnered lots of comments including one person who said that they always saw DJ Koo there whenever they went to visit their father's grave, even when it rains. 'I felt immense sadness seeing him': Netizens say DJ Koo sits by late wife Barbie Hsu's grave nearly every day, Entertainment News
Time may heal all wounds, but it appears that five months is not nearly enough for Korean singer-songwriter DJ Koo. The husband of the late Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu, who died at 48 from pneumonia caused by complications from the flu in February, was spotted by a netizen recently sitting by her gravesite. Threads user Beef_0201 wrote yesterday (July 27) that he had driven a group of fans to the Chin Pao San cemetery, where Barbie was laid to rest, to leave flowers for her. "I was thinking that I might not be able to find [the grave], so I was ready to look for it one by one," he continued. "Then I turned a corner and saw a man sitting in the middle of the cemetery! I immediately thought, could it be DJ Koo?" A photo accompanying the post shows the 55-year-old, also known as Koo Jun-yup, sitting on a folding chair between rows of graves. "He politely said thank you to us," Beef_0201 added. "To be honest, I felt immense sadness when I saw him! "It is hard for me to imagine the pain when the love of your life suddenly dies! "He is really the most passionate man I have ever seen... I hope he can get over the pain." A netizen responded to the post, claiming: "My daughter works at that cemetery and says he really goes down to visit Barbie every day." "My dad's grave is right next to hers," another responded. "I'm not exaggerating when I say that every time I went to pay respects to my dad, I saw DJ Koo sitting there (it even rained heavily a few times)." They added that DJ Koo mostly reads books by Barbie's grave and occasionally checks his phone. Fans were heartbroken in the comments. "I'm really going to cry," wrote one. While some were in awe of his dedication to his late wife, others thought he looked ill and appeared to have lost weight. "He seems to not be doing well emotionally," wrote a netizen. "I hope he can seek professional help and recover slowly." [[nid:720268]] drimac@ No part of this article can be reproduced without permission from AsiaOne.

Barbie Hsu's husband personally designs sculpture for her tomb
DJ Koo is said to be creating a unique and artistic memorial symbolising their enduring love. Photo: DJ Koo/Instagram South Korean entertainer Koo Jun-yup – better known as DJ Koo – has been visibly heartbroken since the death of his wife, Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu, in February this year. Reports say he has lost a significant amount of weight and has been visiting Hsu's resting place at Taipei's Jinbaoshan Cemetery almost daily in recent months. There are also unconfirmed rumours that he plans to relocate to Jinshan to be closer to her. In a touching gesture, DJ Koo is said to be personally designing a sculpture for Hsu's tomb, which will be placed in a celebrity memorial section of the cemetery, as reported by Sin Chew . The tribute is expected to be completed around two meaningful dates: Oct 6 – which would have been Hsu's 49th birthday – and Feb 3 next year, the first anniversary of her cremation. Koo, who graduated from Kyungnam University's Department of Industrial Design, is said to be creating a unique and artistic memorial symbolising their enduring love. Hsu, also known by her stage name 'Big S', died on Feb 2 after she came down with influenza-related pneumonia while on vacation with her family in Japan. She was later cremated in Japan. The ashes was brought to Taiwan on Feb 5.

DJ Koo enquires new property near late wife's resting place?
24 Jun - Staying in Taiwan is not enough for DJ Koo Jun-yeop, it seems, as it was recently reported that the Korean entertainer is currently looking for a residence near his wife Barbie Hsu's resting place. As reported on ET Today, sources recently claimed that the musician has been looking for a property in Jinshan district, which is close to Chin Pao San Cemetery where the late actress was laid back in May. When asked about it, a real estate agency that supposedly has been in talks with Koo declined to comment. On the other hand, Barbie's mother Huang Chun-mei said that she didn't know about Koo's plans, though added, "Koo Jun-yeop truly loves Barbie." The couple, who dated briefly in the late '90s, rekindled their romance following Barbie's divorce from businessman Wang Xiaofei and tied the knot in February 2022. In February this year, the Taiwanese actress was revealed to have passed away due to acute pneumonia. The couple were a few days short from celebrating their third anniversary.
