Good Morning Britain 'turns into CBBC' as dinosaurs invade set
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Good Morning Britain raised a few eyebrows from viewers on Wednesday morning as the set was 'invaded' by dinosaurs. In celebration of the latest Jurassic World film starring Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey, animatronic dinosaurs made an appearance on the GMB set on June 18. 'Bumpy' and a velociraptor from The Jurassic World Experience at NEON in Battersea Power Station appeared on the show and caused a little chaos, baffling viewers just tuning in. Susanna Reid, Richard Madeley and Richard Arnold welcomed the dinosaurs on set and chatted with the 'handlers' about what visitors can enjoy at the London attraction. The hosts were then 'shocked' to find that a velociraptor had escaped its cage and crashed onto set, appearing behind the presenting panel. After thanking the 'handlers' for coming in, and attempting to stroke the velociraptor, Richard joked: 'Is anyone else missing Piers?' eliciting laughs from the whole panel. On social media, fans watching the show expressed their disinterest with many sharing how impressed they were with the childish content. 'Baby bumpys … give me a break #GMB,' said stevebristoluk. 'Talking to adults about a puppet dinosaur like they're children 🤦♂️🤦♂️ #GMB,' said FanOfTV05. Man_In_England commented that the show was comparable to the BBC's children's channel: '#GMB turned into CBBC.' Others were slightly more impressed by the change in the format, some enjoying the lighthearted change of tone. 'That dinosaur robot thing is adorable! Make it a regular guest #GMB,' said TheRealZoeMBE. 'That's not just any dinosaur…that's Blue! @GMB#gmb,' said EvTayWill20, referencing the first Jurrassic Park movie with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. This isn't the first time that GMB has baffled fans with its surprising content lineup. A chaotic interview in May saw Richard Arnold interview Daddy Pig, a cartoon from the TV series Peppa Pig. More Trending During the interview, which is the first since the birth of the latest Peppa Pig character Evie, Daddy Pig got a little emotional and cried as he introduced the world to his daughter. On X, a number of people were quite scathing about the report, with some criticising the show for reporting 'drivel' and focusing on a made-up cartoon story rather than real news stories. James Abbott01 commented on X: 'Ofcom phones are ringing right now [to] complain is about Peppa Pig on #GMB… I'm being serious, viewers are not happy about Good Morning Britain talking to a cartoon'. GMB viewers say they've ‘had enough' after latest Peppa Pig interview
Good Morning Britain viewers have taken to social media to declare they're fed up with all the Peppa Pig news. Their fury comes after Peppa Pig and family took part in a chaotic interview with GMB's entertainment correspondent Richard Arnold about their newest addition to the family, Evie. During the interview, which is the first since the birth of Evie, Daddy Pig got a little emotional as he introduced the world to his daughter. Speaking about George and Peppa's introduction to their baby sister, Mummy Pig said: 'Oh, they could hardly contain themselves. 'But they were so gentle and sweet, too. Evie did a little laugh when she saw them, didn't she? Daddy Pig?' Daddy Pig then said with tears in his eyes: 'How could I forget? Sorry, that's me. Off again.' It seems, however, that not everyone is as moved by the Pig family's newest bundle of joy as Daddy. On X a number of people were quite scathing about the report, with @James Abbott01 writing ' Ofcom phones are ringing right now [to] complain is about Peppa Pig on #GMB… I'm being serious viewers are not happy about Good Morning Britain talking to a cartoon'. @InformeOculto meanwhile added 'More Peppa Pig drivel… Who exactly is this for?' @GreyhoundGeezer was similarly dismissive, posting 'Enough with this Peppa Pig nonsense.' 'How pathetic and puerile to keep harping on about bloody Peppa Pig,' added @Ladyjane223. 'This is not news. Embarrassing.' During the same interview, Daddy Pig said: 'It's been a long, tiring and completely amazing few days. 'Everything went well, and Mummy Pig has been incredible. Peppa and George were so excited to meet their new little sister. We're excited to meet her too.' They also spoke about the origin of their daughter's name, opting to go with something from their family history. 'Peppa had more than a few ideas for a while, she just wanted to call her baby forever. But we've decided to name her after my great aunt Evie,' said Mummy Pig. She added: 'I think right now we're just excited to be home, aren't we?' Daddy Pig added that the family is just looking to spend time together: 'George and Peppa are excited to play with Evie.' Just last week Mummy and Daddy Pig spoke about the labour. 'We were very lucky—everything went smoothly, and in eight, um, 'short' hours of labour, Evie was here,' Mummy Pig said about the birth,' they told Hello! 'Mummy Pig was amazing, and she brought our new baby girl into the world. What a miracle that is!', praised Daddy Pig. According to the first official snap of the happy family, Mummy Pig gave birth at 5:34am on May 20 at the Lindo Wing in London, where Kate Middleton welcomed all three of her children. An hour-long special featuring brand-new episodes based around Evie, titled Peppa Meets the Baby, will screen in cinemas globally on May 30. Got a story?
