It's Horses Versus Magic Doors in THE LIBRARIANS: THE NEXT CHAPTER Episode 6 Sneak Peek
The trouble with being trapped in a time bubble for 200 years is that the learning curve on new technology is steep. Add to the mix the fact that on The Librarians: The Next Chapter , Vikram Chamberlain (Callum McGowan) prefers to use magic anyway, and things get frustrating pretty fast.

In this sneak peek clip of next week's episode, 'And the House of Cards,' Vikram berates and scolds the Annex's portal technology, which, ironically, is a 'magic' door. We learn that he is desperate to retrieve the Dagger of Seraphim, an artifact too dangerous to be out in the open. Also, he and the rest of the team have been separated. Being a man out of his time and context must stick in Vikram's craw mightily. The entire foundation of his personality is that he knows stuff. And what he doesn't know, he makes very confident guesses about. Adjusting to working with a team is new, too. It probably helps that Lysa (Olivia Morris) looks so much like Anya. Connor's (Bluey Robinson) total adoration doesn't hurt either.
The clip provides a glimpse at how much he's come to care for his team. He's genuinely worried. We have no idea how they were separated or why he returned to the Annex, but they didn't. What the Dagger of Seraphim does is also a mystery. If the magic door glitched, that's concerning. Were the other team members targeted? Or is Vikram being isolated for a reason? And if the Dagger is the artifact of the week, how does a House of Cards factor in? So many questions.

The modern world triggers Vikram regularly. Trying to neg the magic door by stating horses were a better mode of transportation is pretty classic Vikram. However, when yelling at the device and making grand gestures doesn't work, Vikram turns to the lesser of two evils and tries his cell phone. And even that doesn't help. It does, however, open up a line of thought about voicemail inboxes and chamber pots.
The Librarians: The Next Chapter Season 1 Episode 6, 'And the House of Cards,' airs on TNT on Monday, June 23 at 9 pm ET.
