Darian DeVries lands first recruit, a 4-star guard, for IU basketball's 2026 recruiting class
Darian DeVries has his first commitment for IU's 2026 recruiting class, one just outside the top 100. BLOOMINGTON — Indiana basketball landed a verbal commitment from 2026 four-star guard Prince-Alexander Moody on Friday night. The 6-foot-4, 180-pounder rising senior out of Bishop McNamara was recently on campus for an official visit. "I'm blessed to continue this journey with the cream and crimson—I'm a Hoosier!" he posted on Instagram. He's rated No. 104 nationally, the No. 27 shooting guard and the No. 5 recruit in Maryland per On3's industry rankings. The Terps were one of his nine scholarship offers alongside the likes of Illinois, Michigan State and Virginia Tech. First-year Indiana coach Darian DeVries turned his attention to next year's signing class in recent weeks after signing 12 players (10 transfers and two freshman) to build out his 2025-26 roster. Butler basketball freshman to represent his country at FIBA Under-19 World Cup
INDIANAPOLIS — Butler basketball freshman Efeosa Oliogu-Elabor was absent from Thursday's practice for a very good reason. The Markham, Ontario native returned to Canada to play for Team Canada in the FIBA Under-19 World Cup in Lausanne, Switzerland. The tournament runs from June 28 to July 6. Training for the national team began June 15 and ran through June 19. Team Canada played exhibitions in France in preparation for the World Cup. Oliogu-Elabor spent his final prep season at William Academy in Toronto, averaging 22.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 3.5 steals per game during the 2024-25 season. He won a bronze medal at the FIBA U18 Men's AmeriCup 2024 last summer. In addition to his experience playing for Team Canada, Oliogu-Elabor also played the 2023-24 season with Overtime Elite, averaging 8.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game for the City Reapers, who won the OTE championship. The three-masted schooner is estimated to be 417 feet long and includes a midnight blue hull, several decks, three jacuzzis and a pool atop the deck, per Oceanco and Yacht World. The masts are about 230 feet high, Yacht World reported, making them almost the same height as the Great Pyramid of Giza. In 2022, the yacht became embroiled in controversy after news emerged that part of Rotterdam's historic Koningshaven Bridge, locally known as De Hef, could be dismantled to transport the boat from Oceanco's inland dock in Alblasserdam to the North Sea, according to prior media reports.
