(Dakota Santiago/The New York Times) After the shooting incident near 345 Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, the global consulting firm KPMG has temporarily closed its New York office. As reported by Business Insider, the company has also issued an internal memo to employees urging caution and has also asked them to work from home. For those unaware, the building at 345 Park Avenue is a commercial address and has offices of several major firms including KPMG, Blackstone and headquarters of NFL (National Football League). As per the report, in the memo sent to the staff KPMG has called the shooting incident 'a terrible, tragic, and frightening event'. KPMG's memo to employees after Manhattan shooting After the horrible incident, KPMG responded quickly to ensure the safety and well-being of its staff. As reported by Business Insider, in an internal memo KPMG said, '"Our hearts go out to the victims of this horrific act and their families. We are incredibly grateful for the bravery of building security and law enforcement, who continue to investigate, clear the building and evacuate remaining personnel'. The company also informed the employees that the 345 office will remain closed on Tuesday for the support of law enforcement activities. As BI reported, the firm told staff, 'Firm and New York leadership are working closely with security, law enforcement, and people relations to make sure we connect with and account for all personnel in our NYC offices.' The company also mentioned in the memo that it will inform the employees when the office will reopen. Along with this, the company has Alsop advised the employees to reply to the emergency text messages sent to everyone at KPMG in New York. Midtown Manhattan shooting: What exactly happened The tragic shooting event began around 6:30 PM local time when the assailant, identified as 27-year-old Shane Tamura of Las Vegas, entered the building armed with an M4 rifle. As per the CCTV footage, Tamura started open firing on an NYPD officer working a corporate security detail in the lobby, before "spraying" the area with bullets. The gunman then proceeded to the 33rd floor, which houses offices of Rudin Management, where he continued firing before fatally shooting himself.

Two masked gunmen burst into a nearly $2 million New Rochelle pad in the dead of night Saturday and pistol-whipped a man before snatching $75,000 worth of bling from his body, cops said. The ordeal unfolded around 1:25 a.m. as the 25-year-old victim was returning to his 3,000-square-foot mansion on Kewanee Road, the New Rochelle Police Department said in a news release. The male suspects, both armed with semi-automatic handguns, pistol-whipped the man before grabbing the jewels and fleeing, the release said. One neighbor described him as a 'young kid' that's lived in the house for about a year – and recalled waking up to the sound of 'male voices' overnight. A white Tesla, grey Tesla Cybertruck and silver Mercedes sprinter van were parked in the driveway of the home when The Post visited Saturday afternoon, but nobody answered the front door. Cops were still canvassing the area. Detectives classified the incident – which they called targeted and isolated – as a home invasion robbery, but declined to say where in the 11-room home it occurred. 'I'm definitely going to lock my door,' said Lonnie Jones, a 24-year-old neighbor who works in marketing. 'This is a surprise to me – big time,' echoed another resident who's lived in the area since 2016. 'It's not something I'd expect in this neighborhood.'
