Dale Earnhardt Jr. Issued Major 'Warning' To NASCAR Track

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Issued Major 'Warning' To NASCAR Track originally appeared on The Spun. Dale Earnhardt Jr. issued a strong "warning" to a historic NASCAR track this week. Martinsville Speedway is one of the most historic tracks in racing. The 0.526-mile oval short track in Ridgeway, Virginia has been open since 1947. Over the past 50-plus years, it's hosted a ton of big-time races, most of them being sanctioned by NASCAR. The historic track is owned by NASCAR and led by track president Clay Campbell. The track gives out one of the most unique trophies in all of sports. The Martinsville clock is given out to winners of the NASCAR races. The clock chimes every 15 minutes and stands several feet tall. However, according to a report, the company that makes the clock is changing. Zeeland-based clock manufacturer Howard Miller announced that he is intending to shut down operations. 'It's sad. From the standpoint of Howard Miller, certainly, it's iconic for the city of Zeeland,' Zeeland City Manager Tim Klunder said. 'Just overall, it's a sad day in the community.' From the report: Howard Miller employees will receive a severance package and job placement support, according to the release. Hekman Furniture Co., which is owned by Howard Miller, will also be closing, the company said. 'We are deeply grateful to our talented team, our committed distributors and our loyal customers who have supported us throughout the years,' Miller said. The business was founded in 1926 by Howard C. Miller, the son of another big name in West Michigan furniture, Herman Miller. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is not happy with this news. He's warning the legendary NASCAR track that whoever replaces the clock manufacturer better live up to the trophy. "Whomever makes the next version better make them exactly like the previous versions. Don't get cute and f--- this up," he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. Well said, Dale. Giants' Malik Nabers Talks 'Smack' About Commanders Instant Rivalry

Giants' Malik Nabers Talks 'Smack' About Commanders Instant Rivalry originally appeared on Athlon Sports. There was a singular positive takeaway from last year of the New York Giants' 3-14 season. Malik Nabers, the sixth-overall pick from the 2024 draft, had one of the best seasons for a rookie wideout. ... ever. The LSU product recorded 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns. Advertisement His reception total is the most ever for a first-year receiver in NFL history. But ... He was the lone star on a bad Giants roster, but he showed enough to excite fans for the future. As he looks back on his first season in the league, Nabers is acknowledging - probably eith pride - that he was not immune to the dreaded "Welcome to the NFL" moment. In the case of the LSU product, his "NFL moment" came courtesy of the Washington Commanders in Week 2. "I ran like a shallow (cross), it was like third and 4, I think, third and 5, I ran the shallow, I caught the ball and I was going up the field on the right sideline, and one of the linebackers he came and hit me," Nabers told Dale Earnhardt Jr., in an episode of "Taking Laps with Dale Jr. "I seen him (Luvu) in my peripheral, but it's like I thought he was farther than what I expected. Advertisement "He smacked me, I ain't gonna lie. It looked harder than it seemed. He hit me, I popped right up, and I was like 'OK, alright, now I'm in the league.'" Call it an "instant rivalry'' born. Luvu is one of the most physical linebackers in the league and enjoyed an All-Pro season with the Commanders. His "smack'' on Nabers showed the rookie how fast each player is in the NFL. ... And how physical the game can be. Nabers was perfectly fine after the hit. He shrugged off the big blow with one of the greatest receiving years for a rookie in league history. ... catching 10 passes for 127 yards and his first NFL touchdown. Advertisement His development should only improve as he gets further acclimated to the game as the Commanders - who had no answer for Nabers - probably remember all the details of this day as well as he does. Giants star Malik Nabers is left visibly frightened during in-car interview with NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr.

New York Giants star Malik Nabers was left visibly frightened during long stretches of his in-car interview with NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. while roaring around a track. Nabers was in the front, passenger-side seat of a race car being driven by the motorsports legend, reaching speeds of up to 130 miles per hour. Earnhardt Jr., who has been retired from NASCAR since 2017, was cool, calm, collected with his foot on the gas. Nabers, who has blistering speed on the gridiron to beat cornerbacks, was anything but comfortable while making the left turns at high speeds. At multiple points in the interview, Nabers can be seen breathing heavy and touching his face. One instance also saw neighbor pray after Earnhardt Jr. says he is going to push his car to its maximum speed. Malik Nabers was going through it at top speed 😂 @dalejr — Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) July 3, 2025 The car Earnhardt Jr. was driving did not even go as fast as the vehicles in NASCAR typically do, with speeds of over 200 miles per hour seen at the longer courses like Daytona and Talladega. Nabers, who hails from Louisiana, likely knew what he was getting himself into. Yet, the reality set in much harder than he realized. 'And how fast do they normally go?' Nabers said. 'They go about 50 miles an hour faster than that,' with Earnhardt Jr. accelerating between 120 to 130 miles per hour. That response elicited a one-word response from Nabers, 'S***!' In his first NFL season, Nabers had 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns as by far the Giants top receiver.

Giants' Malik Nabers Shares His 'Welcome to the NFL' Moment

Giants' Malik Nabers Shares His 'Welcome to the NFL' Moment originally appeared on Athlon Sports. New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers had a stellar Pro-Bowl season last year as a rookie. The LSU product selected with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft hauled in 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns, quickly asserting himself as the Giants' franchise receiver. Advertisement The Giants didn't see much team success in Nabers' rookie season, but the youngster had many memorable moments ... good and bad. Every rookie enters Week 1 waiting for the time when they get popped hard on a tackle, usually rattling them for a second before they compose themselves for the next play. This is a "welcome to the NFL" moment, where boys become men. In Bleacher Report's latest episode of "Taking Laps with Dale Earnhardt Jr.", a show where the NASCAR legend races around a track with a passengers telling stories, Nabers detailed one hit early in the season. It came in Week 2 against the Washington Commanders. "I ran like a shallow ... I caught the ball and I was going up the field on the right sideline and one of the linebackers, he came and hit me," Nabers recalled. Advertisement "Really, I had seen him in my peripheral, but it's like, I thought he was farther than I expected ... He just magically just appeared right there. He smacked me, I ain't gonna lie ... He hit me, I popped right up and I was like 'Okay, alright, now I'm in the league.'" Here is a replay of the moment. Commanders linebacker Frankie Luvu was the one who put Nabers on the turf. Credit to Nabers, he was able to keep his composure and get up in a hurry to celebrate with some trash talk. That game was one of Nabers' best performances of the season. He caught 10 passes for 127 yards and a touchdown. It would turn out to be the first of just three games where the star wideout had at least 10 receptions and at least 100 yards receiving. Advertisement In the end, Washington would have the last laugh, winning the game 21-18. Nabers is pace to be the Giants' best young receiver since a spry Odell Beckham Jr. came out of LSU and played in the Big Apple. There will be a different quarterback throwing Nabers the ball this season, as Daniel Jones left in free agency and New York assembled a unit of Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and first-round pick Jaxson Dart. One thing is for certain, rivals in the NFC East will continue to bring the heat on the Giants' prized young star. But now he's ready for it.
