Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever in scoring in Friday's win, putting up 32 points on 11-of-17 shooting and seven assists. Aliyah Boston added 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting and six rebounds. Meanwhile, Arike Ogunbowale tallied 15 points for Dallas. The Fever led for most of the first three quarters, but Bueckers helped the Wings surge ahead midway through the fourth after trailing by double digits. Still, Indiana took control down the stretch and came away with a comfortable eight-point win. Fans are Talking About Paige Bueckers' Big Rejection on Lexie Hull originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Indiana Fever faced the Dallas Wings on Friday night, looking to get back to .500 after dropping two of the last three. It was supposed to be the first meeting between Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers at the WNBA level after going head-to-head twice in college. Advertisement However, Clark was out with a groin injury. The reigning Rookie of the Year missed Thursday night's game against the Los Angeles Sparks, too, and has now missed seven games this season. The Fever needed others to step up in her absence, and Lexie Hull was one of the guards who had shown the capability to do so in the past. It turned out fans would have to wait a bit longer for that, as Clark was out for the second straight game with a groin injury. Advertisement The reigning Rookie of the Year was still in attendance on the bench, supporting her teammates. Just prior to tip-off, Clark sat next to Aliyah Boston and gave her a long hug. The two shared a smile as Clark wrapped her arms around Cunningham for a hug, just like she did with Boston. The moment was caught on video and shared on social media by the WNBA. Indiana Fever Make Unexpected Roster Change During Caitlin Clark's Absence
Indiana Fever Make Unexpected Roster Change During Caitlin Clark's Absence originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Indiana Fever didn't look the same without their All-WNBA point guard, Caitlin Clark, falling to the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday night. Advertisement Fast forward 24 hours, the Fever are back at it again, this time hitting the road to face Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings. And, once again, Clark remains out with her groin injury. Clark will be out for her seventh game of the 2025 WNBA season, missing five straight starting in late May due to a quad injury. Backup point guard Sydney Colson, who joined the team in the offseason, has replaced Clark in the starting lineup in each of the six previous games the former Iowa star has missed. But the Fever have decided to switch it up for Friday's matchup. According to Fieldhouse Files' Scott Agness, coach Stephanie White will be going with new signee Aari McDonald. McDonald initially signed with the Fever on June 1 via emergency hardship exception. With Clark and Sophie Cunningham (right ankle) out at the same time, the Fever had under 10 available players on their roster and needed to add one, which led to Indiana adding McDonald. Advertisement McDonald was released following the return of both guards, but rejoined the Fever on Wednesday for the remainder of the season. This came in light of DeWanna Bonner getting waived and Damiris Dantas leaving Indiana to join the Brazil national team. McDonald has impressed in her four games with Indiana, averaging 11.8 points on 41.4% shooting, 1.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals, leading the team in the defensive category. This includes Thursday's loss against LA, putting up 14 points off the bench. Indiana Fever guard Aari McDonald (2).Grace Smith/IndyStar / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Colson, on the other hand, hasn't been as productive in the box score through 14 games played, including the six in which she filled in for Clark. The former Aces guard is averaging 2.8 points on 36.8% shooting, 1.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists.
