Recapping Day 4 of Philadelphia Eagles training camp
After taking Sunday off, the Eagles returned to the NovaCare Complex for a Monday morning session. Philadelphia was on the field for approximately 90 minutes on Monday and will return to action on Tuesday, followed by a walkthrough on Wednesday. With the session complete and players speaking to the media, we're recapping the sights and sounds from Day 4 of training camp. What we learned Dallas Goedert's demised has been greatly exaggerated. The Eagles star tight end has been dominant in one on ones and seven on seven periods, looking to have a breakout campaign in what could be his final season in Philadelphia. Eagles defense had the upper hand: It wasn''t an overwhelming performance, but the defense clearly was more efficient and locked in during Monday's workout. Jihaad Campbell was built to play linebacker: Championships are won in shoulder pads and shorts, but Campbell looks like the complete package. 4. Dorian Thompson Robinson is starting to pressure Kyle McCord: McCord was the sixth-round draft pick and presumed No. 3 quarterback but Thompson-Robinson is starting to string together good practices. 5. Quinyon Mitchell the traveling cornerback: Mitchell is a lockdown player and that means traveling to cover star wide receivers. After spending his rookie season on the right side, Mitchell has been working on the left. 6. Sydney Brown got his shot With Andrew Mukuba dealing with a shoulder injury, it was Brown who got all of the first team snaps. Brown has reportedly performed underwhelmingly and Monday was important for the hard-hitting safety. NFL Free Agency: Early look at 33 key Eagles slated to hit the open market in 2026
Dallas Goedert and Reed Blankenship are among 33 Philadelphia Eagles who will be restricted or unrestricted free agents in the 2026 NFL offseason. Week 1 of Eagles training camp is off and running, and Nick Sirianni's team is loaded with playmakers and versatility. Philadelphia added 10 players during the NFL draft and still has a huge Super Bowl window thanks to an MVP candidate at quarterback and elite talent in several critical positions. Regardless of the outcome of this upcoming season, the roster will likely undergo further changes. The Birds have 33 players who'll test restricted or unrestricted free agency during the 2026 NFL offseason. Several key factors include a pending contract extension for Jalen Carter and the contract status for star tight end Dallas Goedert. Reed Blankenship is one of the biggest names on the list, and the defense could look drastically different with Nakobe Dean entering the final year of his rookie deal. With Week 2 of training camp set to begin, we're previewing the 33 Eagles who'll be free agents next spring. CB Tariq Castro-Fields- RFA OL Darian Kinnard-RFA FB/LB Ben VanSumeren- RFA VanSumeren had carved out a role as the Eagles' fullback, reserve linebacker, and special-teams standout. Still, his season ended after the second-year sensation suffered a knee injury during a Friday practice. VanSumeren did not play a single snap on defense last season; he has carved out a role as a fullback on the offensive side of the ball. He's also a major special-teams contributor, having played 12 offensive snaps last season and 153 on special teams. DB Lewis Cine-RFA Cine was selected by Minnesota 32nd overall in the 2022 draft and joined the Bills' practice squad after being released by the Vikings last summer. He broke his leg during his rookie season and was limited to playing 10 defensive snaps in 10 games over his two years in Minnesota. The 24-year-old from Haiti is listed at 6-foot-2 and 199 pounds and is a low-risk signing, having had a decorated college career at Georgia. Cine earned defensive MVP honors in Georgia's 33-18 win over Alabama in the national championship game in the 2021 season. OLB Josh Uche-Void The young pass rusher struggled over the past two seasons but was named an underrated pass rusher by PFF entering 2025 NFL free agency. DT Thomas Booker-RFA CB Eli Ricks-RFA Eli Ricks will move up the Eagles' depth chart after a season spent watching and continuing to learn his craft. He could also be trade bait because Ricks is 23 years old, plays with great length, and has had incredible mentors in Darius Slay and James Bradberry. OL Kenyon Green-UFA Green is entering the last year of his rookie deal at a $2.88 million salary. Green started 14 of 15 games as a rookie but was the 77th-highest-graded guard (37.7) out of 77 players in Pro Football Focus rankings that year. Last season, Green was one of the lowest-graded offensive guards in the NFL. LS Charley Hughlett-UFA RB A.J. Dillon-UFA Dillon signed a one-year deal with Philadelphia after missing last season with a neck injury. LB Nakobe Dean-UFA Nakobe Dean earned All-Pro votes with his performance this season. Now, the Eagles linebacker will work to rehab from a torn patellar tendon he suffered in the NFC Wild Card win over Green Bay. Ian Rapoport reports that Dean could miss part of the 2025 season while rehabbing. He's entering the final year of his deal. OLB Patrick Johnson-UFA WR/KR Avery Williams- UFA TE Harrison Bryant- UFA CB Parry Nickerson- UFA TE Nick Muse- UFA TE Grant Calcaterra- UFA A player who could benefit the most from a Goedert departure, Calcaterra finished his third professional season with career highs in catches (24), yards (298), and touchdowns (one). TE Dallas Goedert- Void Goedert is set to enter the final year of his deal. Last season, Goedert played in 10 games, logging 42 receptions for 496 yards, averaging 11.8 yards per catch, and two scores. He led the team in receptions (17) and receiving yards (215) during their Super Bowl run in the postseason. Goedert is a warrior, and when he's healthy, the talented pass catcher is one of the top tight ends in the NFL. Goedert is 30 years old, and like Zach Ertz before him, the Eagles could be preparing for an exit strategy as they work to get younger at the position. WR Jahan Dotson- Void Dotson had his fifth-year option declined, and he'll be playing for a contract. Azeez Ojulari-Void The 24-year-old made the most of his return to the starting lineup with five sacks in three games. He's an intriguing free agent and someone who could have a Zack Baun-like impact on the defense. DB Reed Blankenship- Void Blankenship logged 78 tackles (52 solo), six pass defenses (including four interceptions), and one fumble recovery during 15 regular-season games in 2024. He added 27 tackles (18 solo), one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery across the Eagles' four playoff games. Blankenship earned a one-year, $3.58 million contract extension with the Eagles last April after leading the team in tackles and interceptions. He saw his tackling numbers dip in the regular season and finished third behind Zack Baun (151) and Nakobe Dean (128), but Blankenship finished as the Eagles' second-leading tackler during the postseason behind Dean (33). Blankenship could be in line for another, more sizable contract extension heading into the 2025 campaign. DB Tristin McCollum -- ERFA McCollum logged 33 tackles (18 solo) and two pass defenses in 14 regular-season appearances in 2024. P Braden Mann- Void CB Adoree' Jackson-Void TE Kylen Granson- Void OL Kendall Lamm- Void OL Matt Pryor- Void DT Joe Evans -- ERFA DT Jacob Sykes-ERFA Edge Rusher Ogbonnia Okoronkwo -- UFA TE EJ Jenkins -- ERFA OLB Ochaun Mathis-ERFA WR Terrace Marshall Jr. -- UFA The former LSU star pass catcher was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the second round (59th overall) of the 2021 NFL draft. He appeared in 13 games as a rookie and recorded 17 receptions for 138 receiving yards. Marshall finished his second season (2022) with 28 receptions for 490 receiving yards and one touchdown in 14 games.

One Eagles roster spot and the five tight ends fighting to claim it
Only three will survive a seven-man race for three Eagles roster spots. This is what it's all about. There's that thin line that separates competition and teamwork. 90 guys share the Philadelphia Eagles' locker room. Only 68 will remain on the active roster and practice squad after the final preseason game. Laekin Vakalahi will, more than likely, again be carried on Philadelphia's scout team. His entry to the league through the NFL's International Players Pathway Program means he won't count against the Eagles' allowable 16 practice squad players. The tight end position currently has seven players on the roster. Historically, Philadelphia typically keeps three tight ends on the active roster, but there have been instances in the past when they chose to keep even fewer. This brings us to the players who will participate in training camp. Dallas Goedert and Grant Calcaterra feel like shoo-ins to make the Eagles roster It seems unlikely that Dallas Goedert will remain with the Eagles past next March, given how the two sides were so close to parting ways this past offseason. As you know, he has returned. It's often hard to make guarantees about roster spots, especially at this time of year, but most of us have resigned ourselves to an idea. Goedert is making the Eagles roster as a starter, and Grant Calcaterra is making the squad as his backup. That leaves the door open for one more guy. There's just one issue. Five guys want that one spot. Five Eagles fighting for one position on the roster As mentioned earlier, we've seen Philadelphia announce its initial 53-man roster with only two tight ends present. They could make a similar decision this year. There are no guarantees that they will like any of these guys, but if they can find one, he'll have to beat out four other prospects. Kylen Granson was a two-year starter at the tight end position in college, but he also has some experience playing wide receiver at the NCAA level. A fourth-round selection, this 27-year-old has the tools to be a decent third option. This is Harrison Bryant's third team since entering the NFL in 2020. Also a fourth-rounder and also 27 years old, he was a member of the 2020 Pro Football Writers Association's All-Rookie Team. E.J. Jenkins is one of the most familiar faces on this list. He had some nice showings during preseason games last August. His only reception last season was a big one. It went for a TD. Can his familiarity give him a leg up on the competition? Nick Muse is the big-bodied target the Eagles are seemingly searching for every few months. He stands at six-foot-five and tips the scales at 252 pounds. He, like Jenkins, is the owner of one career catch, but Muse hasn't hauled in a reception since 2023. Cameron Latu is another of the new guys. He should fit in well, as there are other former Alabama Crimson Tide standouts on the Eagles' roster. He's a College Football Playoff National Champion. He signed a future/reserve deal in January, but he has a tough hill to climb if he is going to catapult himself onto their roster. Prediction (This may change in a few days): We'll throw a curveball here. Philadelphia keeps two tight ends on the initial 53-man roster. They try to sneak one, possibly Jenkins, through waivers and sign him to the practice squad.

Eagles' Dallas Goedert Falls in Tight End Rankings
Eagles' Dallas Goedert Falls in Tight End Rankings originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert ranked at No. 7 in the top 10 at his position ahead of last season. In what was his seventh season in the NFL, former South Dakota State Jackrabbit posted the lowest yards (496) and receptions since his rookie season in 2018, and the lowest touchdown total (two) of his career. All that in a season that saw his team win the Super Bowl. It's not uncommon for stars to get lost on a roster that boasts so many other stars. But the numbers don't lie. Goedert's place in the offensive hierarchy fell last season, particularly with the arrival of Saquon Barkley. But even after a less-than-stellar season, Goedert still finds himself in the top 10 of ESPN's positional rankings, that was compiled by a survey of NFL coaches, executives and scouts. Goedert fell from his 2024 spot at No. 7 to No. 9. "Goedert occupies a tricky space on the list because he's a longtime top-10 resident but is, quite clearly, the fourth option in the Eagles' offense behind Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith," Jeremy Fowler wrote. "Philadelphia explored a potential trade for Goedert this offseason, only to revise his contract to one year and $10 million. His 2024 output -- 42 catches for 496 yards and two touchdowns -- was his lowest since his rookie year in 2018. But he's still considered among the most complete tight ends in the NFL." Even with the statistical fall, one scout still thinks he affects the offensive game plan. "He's still on the short list of tight ends that affect the game at a high level," a high-ranking scout with an NFL team said. Another coach believes the theory that he got lost on the roster among other stars. "Very good player -- does everything extremely well, just not exceptional at any one thing in particular," a veteran defensive coach noted. "You don't give him as much thought as some of these other top [tight ends], but probably because you can't afford to with Saquon, A.J. and Smith in that offense." NFL rumors: Eagles named ‘interesting' trade destination for Kyle Pitts
The post NFL rumors: Eagles named 'interesting' trade destination for Kyle Pitts appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Philadelphia Eagles have been urged to give quarterback Jalen Hurts more help. And he's getting some from the return of Dallas Goedert. And even more could be on the way as the Eagles were named as an interesting trade destination for Kyle Pitts. Advertisement The Falcons might look to go a different direction as Pitts has been unable to live up to his massive potential while wearing a Falcons uniform. He came to Atlanta via the first round (No. 4 overall) of the 2021 draft. And he caught 68 balls for 1,026 yards as a rookie. But he scored just one touchdown. Since then, Pitts hasn't topped the 60 mark in receptions. Also, he hasn't gotten within 300 of his 2021 yardage total. One interesting stat is that his touchdowns have gone up by one each season. Eagles might be a fit for TE Kyle Pitts It makes sense for the Falcons to find a trade partner, according to Advertisement 'Pitts has never matched the heights of his 1,026-yard rookie season, nor has he matched expectations as the No. 4 overall pick,' Aaron Schatz wrote. 'It's very unlikely that the Falcons extend or re-sign him after the 2025 season. So perhaps the best thing is to get some value for him now and let him see what he can do with a change of scenery.' Schatz tabbed three teams as possible landing spots for Pitts. 'The Jets might be an interesting landing spot for Pitts, as he could play next to rookie Mason Taylor in two-TE sets,' Schatz wrote. 'The Giants could also use an upgrade at the position. Even the Eagles might be an interesting trade target, as Dallas Goedert is now 30 years old.' However, let the Eagles beware. Pitts is dealing with an injury this summer, according to Advertisement 'Extremely cautious with Kyle right now and what he's got going on,' Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said. 'Obviously, don't talk about injuries this time of year. But definitely being cautious with him, so you won't see him. He's been here, he's done such a great job. He's been in every single thing that we've done other than the field, and he's been absolutely outstanding to be around.'
