Pokwang explains why she will use comedy when judging on 'Stars on the Floor'
Pokwang is all set to bring in the laughs for her stint as a judge on 'Stars on the Floor.' Although she is part of the panel of judges, also called the Dance Authority, everybody's favorite Mamang will bring her signature high-energy comedy to the show. At the series' grand media conference, Pokwang said her past experiences inspire her style of judging. Pokwang started her career by participating in dance contests and as a professional dancer and choreographer. 'Dati rin po kasi akong kontesera. Nung bata po ako, duma-dance contest na 'ko. Ang unang tungtong ko po dito sa GMA, lumaban po ako ng dance contest sa 'Lunch Date,' the dubbed Star Comedienne of the Dance Floor said. 'Kontesera po ako so alam ko po 'yung pakiramdam ng ninenerbyos ka. Alam ko 'yung pakiramdam na kulang nalang mawala ka sa tinatayuan mo,' she added. 'Ako 'yung bilang balanse para mawala 'yung nerbyos ng mga [contestants].' She added that the judges see the contestants' nerves and exhaustion. 'Kailangan naman natin balansehin. Tawa-tawa tayo,' Pokwang said. As a judge, she is looking for a contestant's determination, eagerness, and ''yung hindi sila talaga matatakot harapin kung ano 'yung mga ibibigay sa kanila na genre.' 'Stars on the Floor,' dubbed the ultimate "COLLABanan ng Stars sa Sayawan" brings together personalities from entertainment and the digital world to pair up for a dance-collab competition. The stars will take part in dance styles from hip-hop, contemporary, and ballroom to jazz, swing, disco, Latin, dancehall, and more, with the best choreographers in the Philippines to guide them. The Celebrity Dance Stars are Glaiza de Castro, Rodjun Cruz, Faith da Silva, Thea Astley, and VXON Patrick. Meanwhile, the Digital Dance Stars are Zeus Collins, Dasuri Choi, JM Yrreverre, Kakai Almeda, and Joshua Decena. Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera, the Star Comedienne of the Dance Floor Pokwang, and the Dance Trend Master Coach Jay Joseph Roncesvalles, are the show's judges, or the Dance Authority. Alden Richards says 'Stars on the Floor' is the best show he's ever hosted
Alden Richards is making a comeback as a host on 'Stars on the Floor!' Asia's Multimedia Star said the show is special because it is an original concept of GMA Network, has never been seen on local television before, 'and gives us something different in the world of dance.' During the series' grand media conference, Alden said that after taping a few episodes, 'I think for the record... this is the best show I've hosted in GMA, in my history as a host so far.' The actor added that he is excited every time there is taping for the reality dance competition and that he always looks forward to seeing his co-workers. 'The energy inside of this show, from everyone that's involved—from the creatives, to the staff and crew, to the star duos, to the dance authority, to everyone—sobra kaming in one boat, and we bring out the best in each other,' Alden said. 'I think that's why the whole show itself, the dances, the showcase of everyone, napapatungan siya ng extra and I feel that as a host,' he added. Alden also said that he needs to feel everyone's energy to connect the Dance Authority to the Star Duos then to the studio audience and at-home viewers. 'The energy that this show has helps me by a long shot. Sobrang ang galing trabaho, tsaka uuwi kaming hindi kami pagod,' Alden said. He added that given the show's production, he is very excited for local and international viewers to watch 'Stars on the Floor.' Marian Rivera said yes to 'Stars on the Floor' because of her love for dancing
Marian Rivera is a true dancing queen, and her saying yes to "Stars on the Floor" comes from her passion for it. During the reality dance competition's grand media conference, Marian said it is her first time to be a judge in a show. She would previously say no to offers because she thinks she is not fit for the role. "Pero bilang dance ito at hilig ko ang magsayaw, at hindi naman lingid sa kaalaman nila na love na love ko ang dancing talaga, nag-yes ako dito," Marian said. "Love ko ang dancing eh. Every time nag-da-dance talaga 'ko, na-e-express ko talaga 'yung sarili ko sa iba't ibang anggulo," she added. Marian also said that although she dances on TikTok, "Stars on the Floor" gave her the chance to dance onstage again. Marian also teased that the cast has an upcoming production number that was out of their comfort zones, but they took it on as a challenge because they were inspired by the contestants. The Kapuso Primetime Queen added that aside from judging the contestants, "Ako pala 'yung mas natuto habang nanonood ako sa kanila." Marian added that the show makes the contestants shine as dancers and hopes that they will be better known for their dance skills when the series ends. "Hinahanap ko [sa contestants]—isa lang lagi ko sinasabi—gusto ko enjoy sila habang ginagawa nila 'to," Marian said. "Isa lang 'yun, pero s'yempre andiyan naman for the technical, for ano man. Pero 'yun 'yung gusto ko eh, habang sumasayaw sila, ine-enjoy nila 'yung bawat indak nila kasi laban nila 'to sa tagumpay eh. So gusto ko ine-enjoy lang, matalo, manalo," the actress added. Alden Richards gives glimpse of dance arena for ‘Stars on the Floor'
Alden Richards was beaming with pride as he gave a glimpse into the dance arena for 'Stars on the Floor,' which he will be hosting. In Nelson Canlas' report on '24 Oras' Friday, Alden served as a set tour guide and showed the different features of the filming area. The impressive arena-layout with a wide space for audiences is only fitting for the upcoming talent competition because, per Alden, 'This is tagged as one of the biggest dance competitions and celebrity dance showdown of 2025 for GMA.' The setup also has giant LED walls that are placed all over the dance arena. 'This goes to show how big the show is,' Alden said. It also came with a dedicated area where the judges will be seated. 'We're calling them Dance Authority. But kung sino 'yang mga 'yan, hindi ko muna puwedeng i-reveal,' he said. While their identities were not yet revealed, Alden gave some clues. 'Lahat dancer, lahat palong-palo, lahat sikat. Lahat, naku, may mga kaniya-kaniyang forte pagdating sa pagsasayaw, so nakakatuwa lang din 'yung dynamics and the differences between the personalities,' he said. Aside from serving as host, Alden will also be performing during a dance production number on the show. 'Medyo parang, hindi naman kinalawang nang konti, pero parang bumagal lang 'yung pick up. But with this, hopefully, bumalik ulit. Andito pa rin naman pala eh. Andito pa rin 'yung dancing skills natin,' he previously said.
