Morgan Wallen confronts being 'America's problem' in fiery concert
GLENDALE, Ariz. − As a grinning Morgan Wallen was escorted to the stage at State Farm Stadium by Randy Johnson of the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday, July 18, his latest album, 'I'm the Problem,' was still holding strong at No. 1 on Billboard's album chart. Of course, it's only been eight weeks. Wallen's previous album, 'One Thing at a Time,' spent 19 weeks at No. 1 − the most weeks any country act has ever spent on top, which followed the success of 'Dangerous,' a multi-platinum breakthrough Billboard named the most successful album of the century so far. By any reasonable metric, he's the most successful country artist of his generation, requiring a two-night stand at State Farm Stadium to meet demand for ticket sales. Morgan Wallen can't stop falling into fresh controversies But there's a reason he would choose to name his latest tour and album 'I'm the Problem.' It wasn't long after releasing 'Dangerous,' in early 2021, that TMZ released a video that showed the up-and-coming country star shouting the N-word at a carload of friends outside his Nashville home after a night of heavy drinking. Wallen's label suspended his contract. Spotify, SiriusXM, Pandora, Apple Music, CMT and the nation's most powerful radio chains pulled his music. Wallen did damage control as best he could: retreating from the spotlight; entering rehab; donating money to the Black Music Action Coalition and the National Museum of African American Music; urging fans not to defend him; apologizing for his actions. Then, in April 2024, he was arrested in Nashville, having thrown a chair off the roof of Eric Church's newly opened bar. Pleading guilty to reckless endangerment, he was sentenced in December 2024 to seven days in a DUI education center and two years of probation. Wallen's reputation took another hit in March in response to his hasty retreat from the set of 'Saturday Night Live,' posting an Instagram Story from his private plane with the caption, 'Get me to God's country.' And the records just kept selling as he leaned into his image as the complex kid who doesn't always do the right thing, often sabotaging his own dreams with impulsive behavior, which may just make him that much more relatable. From 'America's Problem' to 'not real country,' Morgan Wallen owns those negative headlines At his Arizona concert, the screen above the stage was filled with headlines taking the singer to task as 'America's Problem,' 'the elephant in the room,' a breaker of COVID-19 mask protocols, 'not real country' and more as Wallen brought his set to an incendiary close with 'I'm the Problem,' which isn't about the aforementioned problems so much as it is about the narrator's relationship with a certain Ms. Never Do No Wrong. By the time the song was through, he'd doused the runway with a liquid meant to look like gasoline and struck a match. It was beyond intense, brilliantly staged and cathartic, ending in a huge pyrotechnic display as Wallen left the stage, returning in a Randy Johnson baseball jersey for a three-song encore that ended with 'The Way I Talk,' a debut single that didn't necessarily set the charts on fire but remains a staple of his live show. Morgan Wallen's 2025 setlist favors 'I'm the Problem' The setlist clearly favored 'I'm the Problem,' hitting 13 of the album's 37 songs in the course of a 25-song set. Those selections included such obvious highlights as 'I Got Better,' 'Love Somebody,' the Post Malone collaboration 'I Had Some Help' (performed without Malone) and a heartwarming 'Superman,' in which a father tells his son, 'And when you ain't a kid no more, I hope you don't think less of me/ I try to hide my fallin' short, but you're gonna see.' Show opener Ella Langley returned to the stage for a duet on 'What I Want' from the new album, singing Tate McRae's part, and Miranda Lambert came back for a spirited version of 'Cowgirls,' one of five songs Wallen did from 'One Thing at a Time.' He's a commanding presence with a talent for putting the lyrics across in a way that's sure to resonate as the members of his six-piece backing band construct a richly textured wall of sound around him. Midway through the show, he strolled through the crowd to a satellite stage at the opposite end of the venue to perform an unplugged mini-set that featured three of his best vocals of the night: the Jason Isbell song 'Cover Me Up,' an emotional 'I'm a Little Crazy' (in which the title is followed by 'but the world's insane') and a mournful rendition of 'Sand in My Boots' with Wallen on piano, which remains an undisputed highlight of his concerts. Wallen did his best throughout to nurture the connection he's been building with his ever-growing fan base this whole time. Before unplugging, he talked about the early days of his career when 'we'd play pretty much anywhere they'd let us in the door' as they traveled the country in a little van while working their way up to where they are today, headlining stadiums. 'And one of the things that I miss a little bit about those smaller shows is I could go out on stage and I could look at everybody in the eyes pretty much and just have that connection,' he added. 'These days, it's a little bit more difficult to accomplish that, but this is my effort to kind of bridge that gap a little bit.' Morgan Wallen's Debut Album Rises Higher Than Ever
Morgan Wallen's debut album If I Know Me reaches a new peak of No. 33 on Billboard's Top Streaming ... More Albums chart as it climbs on all three tallies it appears on. AUSTIN, TX - MAY 04: (EDITORIAL USE ONLY. NO COMMERCIAL USE) Morgan Wallen performs live during the Daytime Village at the 2019 iHeartCountry Festival Presented by Capital One at the Frank Erwin Center on May 4, 2019 in Austin, Texas. (Photo byfor iHeartMedia) Morgan Wallen's albums are so big and packed with hit songs that they've become constant fixtures in the highest reaches of the Top Streaming Albums chart in the United States. The country singer-songwriter regularly claims several spaces inside that competitive region, just as he does this frame with his three most recent projects. If I Know Me, the album that started it all for Wallen, has never climbed quite as high as its successors, but this is a very special week for that introductory project. If I Know Me Reaches a New Chart Peak If I Know Me rises five spaces on the current edition of the Top Streaming Albums chart. Wallen's first studio effort jumps from No. 38 to No. 33, and in doing so, it reaches a new peak position on the tally, which ranks the most-played projects on sites like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and others in every tracking period. Morgan Wallen's Longest-Charting Streaming Wins If I Know Me debuted on the Top Streaming Albums list in October 2023, alongside both Dangerous: The Double Album and One Thing at a Time. Unlike those sets, however, If I Know Me has not remained on the ranking since then, as it has now racked up just 21 stays on the streaming-only tally. Both Dangerous and One Thing at a Time have managed 91 frames on the ranking so far. Three Top 10s on the Top Streaming Albums List Wallen has sent both of those studio efforts, as well as his latest blockbuster I'm the Problem, into the top five on the Top Streaming Albums chart. One Thing at a Time and I'm the Problem have each spent months at No. 1, while Dangerous stalled at fourth place. Currently, Wallen occupies three spaces inside the top streaming albums chart's top 10. I'm the Problem holds at No. 1, as it has now spent all eight of its weeks on the tally in the top spot. One Thing at a Time climbs a single rung to No. 3, while Dangerous holds steady at No. 7. If I Know Me Rises on Multiple Billboard Charts If I Know Me is also climbing on all three Billboard charts where it makes a home, even though consumption is slightly down. The collection moved just over 15,800 equivalent units in the latest span (per Luminate), a dip from 16,000 the week prior. That doesn't stop If I Know Me from lifting from No. 10 to No. 8 on the Top Country Albums tally, and from No. 49 to No. 41 on the Billboard 200.

Hailee Steinfeld Teams Up with Miles Teller in Olympics Pic "Winter Games"
Yara Sameh After battling vampirism in the box office smash "Sinners", Hailee Steinfeld has found her follow-up project in Paramount's Olympics film "Winter Games", starring opposite Miles Teller. Paul Downs Colaizzo is directing the movie from a script he co-wrote alongside Pat Cunnane. Set in the high-stakes arena of the Winter Olympics, the movie follows a perpetually overlooked skier (Steinfeld) and a self-sabotaging hockey legend (Teller) who collide at their breaking points. Their unexpected connection threatens her chance for a medal and his shot at a comeback as they navigate romance and redemption in the Olympic Village. Tim and Trevor White are producing on behalf of Star Thrower alongside Teller. Steinfeld is coming off one of the year's biggest hits with the Warner Bros horror thriller "Sinners", where she stars opposite Michael B. Jordan. The pic blew past expectations with $365 million to date at the global box office — which includes an astounding $278 million domestic — making it the top-grossing original movie of the past 15 years and the fifth-highest-grossing horror movie of all time. Following an almost two-year break, Steinfeld made her much anticipated return to music on the Sinners soundtrack with 'Dangerous.' The song amassed over 4.7 million streams on Spotify in its first month. The movie also earned rave reviews, putting it, Steinfeld and her co-stars in the mix for consideration this awards season. Following the film's success, Steinfeld saw a slew of offers come in but, after taking her time, she ultimately landed on "Winter Games" as her follow-up pic. In 2023, Steinfeld reprised her voice role as Spider-Gwen in "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse". The second film in the popular trilogy grossed over $690 million globally and received rave reviews. The first film, "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2019. Spider-Gwen will make her return in "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse" on June 4, 2027. In 2021, Steinfeld made her Marvel debut as Kate Bishop in Disney+'s "Hawkeye", starring alongside Jeremy Renner. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Arts & Culture Hawass Foundation Launches 1st Course to Teach Ancient Egyptian Language
